Chapter 127 - Crushing!

Cyborg's voice echoed through the entire airborne base.

Even with shockwaves rolling, countless shells flying toward him, and the air thick with the smell of smoke and war, none of it could conceal the terrifying intimidation contained in that single sentence.

The soldiers were extremely nervous.

The short but intense clash had already made them clearly understand how terrifying this man was.

He had casually erased all the incoming shells.

A man wielding such astonishing power had without question surpassed the limits of humanity—reaching a realm utterly out of reach for ordinary soldiers.

Perhaps only the legendary Captain America from the last century—modified through the "super soldier program"—could stand a chance against this guy!

The soldiers were all too aware of this.

"Last chance?"

Behind the troops, Ross muttered under his breath, a disdainful sneer crawling across his face.

No one could threaten him.

"Blonsky."

Ross turned to the colonel standing beside him, ready for battle.

Emil Blonsky had shown exceptional combat skill during the pursuit of Banner.

Although the mission failed, it did nothing to diminish Blonsky's outstanding command ability.

Ross valued him highly.

Without Blonsky, the losses they would have faced during the failed mission would have been even worse.

Especially after Banner disappeared through the teleportation, Blonsky played a critical role against Stockman and the others, ultimately wiping out the enemy.

The "enemy" here, of course, referred to the rigorously trained, extremely troublesome remnants of the Foot Clan.

On top of that, Blonsky also tracked down the whereabouts of the three who had escaped.

If the mind-transfer technology ended up being successfully acquired, Blonsky would undoubtedly deserve part of the credit.

Of course, the greatest credit belonged to Ross himself.

"You're not scared by this robot, are you?"His tone was calm as he questioned Blonsky.

"Of course not!"

Blonsky grinned widely. Seeing the enemy floating overhead, he raised the gun loaded with armor-piercing rounds and nodded at Ross. "I can't wait!"

"Good. Command here is yours now."

After saying this, Ross stood in place, staring solemnly at the enemy above.

"Don't disappoint me."

He added, "We need to stall this robot."

Just moments earlier, someone at the edge of the flying base had signaled to him—it was the men he'd sent to move Stockman and the other two.

Clearly, everything was ready.

He had ordered his subordinates to take the three away from Rio and return to the U.S. via a different route.

Although Ross had insisted earlier that he would not hand Stockman's group over to the man before him, that didn't mean he was an idiot incapable of assessing the situation.

Clearly, this unidentified robot's combat power was beyond what the military could handle.

With their current weapons and equipment, it was nearly impossible to pose any real threat!

Therefore, if they wanted to keep Stockman and the others, they first had to get them off the base!

The mind-transfer technology must not fall into enemy hands.

And so, during the escape, someone had to stall the enemy. Emil Blonsky was the obvious choice.

Ross's old bones certainly couldn't be the one going into battle.

Blonsky didn't care. Half a war fanatic, he was practically thrilled by the scene unfolding before him.

Withdrawing his gaze and suppressing his arrogance, he fixed his aim on the figure in the sky.

A few seconds later—

Bang!

A powerful armor-piercing round shot out.

Cyborg—Anton's transformed state—felt the incoming projectile and flashed aside, narrowly dodging it.

Whoosh! The round grazed past his ear.

His eyes narrowed. In another view, he locked onto Phil and the other two being forced into a jeep, then shifted his gaze to Ross, Blonsky, and the surrounding soldiers.

"Trying to run?"

Anton snorted. "You haven't asked for my permission."

He didn't hesitate and shot into the ranks of soldiers, knocking each one out as easily as swatting flies.

An armored vehicle approached, its long cannon locked onto Anton.

Anton moved beside it, casually bent the cannon upward, and let the shell explode inside the barrel—launching the armored vehicle into the air in a fiery blast before it crashed down.

Blonsky knew that if he didn't escalate his attack, the enemy—using his terrifying power and mobility—would wipe out his entire side in one sweep.

So he struck first, boarding another armored vehicle and adjusting its large-caliber cannon.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Using his abundant combat experience and sharp instincts, he fired directly at the silver-armored target.

Each shot seemed to predict Anton's movements.

At this point, Anton had no patience to keep playing. He extended a mechanical hand and caught a shell mid-air.

Boom!

The large-caliber shell exploded in his palm.

He remained completely unharmed.

"Where's the sonic weapon?"

Blonsky barked into the comms channel: "Use the sonic weapons—maximum output! And get the attack helicopters up! Surround this damn robot!"

"Understood!"

The soldiers fought back their fear and obeyed.

But the massive difference in power between the two sides could not be bridged by obedience alone.

Sonic weapons unleashed a terrifying shockwave, engulfing Anton entirely.

Anton simply disabled his mechanical body's audio receptors, turning his world into total silence. Before him was only firelight and swirling ammunition—he completely ignored the sonic attack.

The shockwave itself meant nothing to him.

Nearby, an attack helicopter that had just taken off was immediately shot down by a casual energy blast from Anton, its body spiraling downward.

He punched through an armored vehicle's roof, ripped off its cannon, grabbed Blonsky by the collar, and began walking toward Ross.

On the way, with his free hand, he casually flicked a cannon blast toward the base's edge.

Boom!

The explosion erupted right in front of the departing jeep.

The vehicle shook violently. The passengers, strapped in, still couldn't maintain stability.

The driver slammed the brakes, staring at the enormous crater ahead, cold sweat streaming down his face. He then looked back toward the rising smoke—where he could faintly make out a tall mechanical figure with glowing red eyes.

He understood perfectly:That was a warning.

If they dared move again, the next shot wouldn't hit empty ground.

It would hit them.

"So this is all you're capable of?"

Anton hovered in midair, descending slowly toward Ross with the poise of a victor crushing his opponent.

He tossed Blonsky at Ross's feet.

Ross's expression twisted with a mix of fury and humiliation.

Anton said leisurely, "General Ross, if this is the extent of your strength, then I advise you to give up chasing Banner. If he goes mad, there are very few people in this world who can stop him… and you should remember—you are definitely not one of them."
