Chapter 53 - Eddie: I Belong in the Sidestory

Spider-Sense is an extremely powerful ability, allowing him to anticipate danger and react to enemy attacks in advance.

At this moment, the strand of webbing representing his Spider-Sense in his mind was frantically jumping.

"Gulp!"

Peter Parker swallowed, feeling that choosing to come to Hell's Kitchen to train his abilities today might have been a mistake.

The entire Hell's Kitchen felt extremely dangerous to him at the moment.

Bang!!

Firelight erupted in the distance.

A bullet sliced through the air, arriving with blinding speed.

Peter's Spider-Sense tingled, allowing him to dodge the bullet, but he was still scared out of his wits.

He was just a high school student; he'd never seen anything like this before. "What in the world is going on here?"

Peter Parker looked around in confusion, surveying the scene. Gunshots and fighting echoed from every direction. A heavy weight settled in his chest, and he couldn't relax.

Then, a figure like a bat streaked across the sky, and he understood.

"Batman!"

Peter Parker was instantly excited; this was his idol.

He glanced around, hesitated for a moment, then, without hesitation, shot out Webbing and followed Batman's direction to get a closer look.

After the fight in the underground fight club, he had a much better understanding of his abilities.

With his skills and a growing ego, the image of the timid coward he used to be became increasingly blurred.

"Batman, did you really think I wouldn't expect you to come looking for me?"

Kingpin sneered at Anton, who had transformed into Batman.

With a wave of his hand, a group of thugs armed with Energy Weapons appeared from all directions.

The Energy Weapons they wielded were highly advanced, new weapons, typically only used by large arms companies or certain official forces.

Even the police across America still used old-fashioned gunpowder weapons.

Undoubtedly, Matt was well-prepared for his investigation of Kingpin.

Behind Kingpin, there must be a large arms supplier.

Stark Industries!

Obadiah Stane!

Anton confirmed Obadiah Stane in his mind, a smile curving his lips, unfazed by the dozens of Energy Weapons pointed at him.

At this moment, on the rooftop of a building in Hell's Kitchen.

In the shadows, Peter Parker, his face covered by a red mask, clung to the outer wall, watching the scene.

Even though he was an outsider at this moment, he felt fear for Batman.

Peter was an exceptional student; he could tell that the structure of these guns was extraordinary, all utilizing very advanced energy power. One shot could easily melt away half of a person's body.

Batman's armored suit might be able to withstand a single shot, but dozens together would be a different story.

"Kill him!"

Kingpin's eyes were cold as he issued the order.

Vwoom! Vwoom! Vwoom!

The Energy Weapons hummed, and terrifying energy bullets emitted a ghostly blue light, shooting straight towards Batman in the middle of the street.

Swish!

Batman dodged left and right, finally leaping up. He swiftly changed his position, and the relatively large miniature mecha vanished without a trace, replaced by armor with a normal appearance.

Then, the armor concealed itself in the shadows of the street, leaving the thugs speechless, unable to track Batman's movements.

"Hmm?"

Kingpin frowned.

He saw Batman's methods and felt like Batman was performing magic.

The speed at which he switched equipment was as if he possessed spatial transformation abilities, able to change into whatever equipment he desired.

What he didn't know was that he was right.

At the moment Anton jumped up, he switched to the basic version of the Batsuit, which had better concealment, hiding in the shadows.

And at the same time, he saw a figure.

A figure both familiar and unfamiliar.

"Hi."

Anton stared at Spider-Kid, intrigued, and was surprised that Peter Parker, one of the most popular heroes in Marvel, had finally "made his debut."

Although he was dressed in a simple outfit, clearly in the early stages of his powers and not yet a headliner, that pathetic look cemented Anton's image of Spider-Kid.

"Spider-Kid, is this show entertaining?"

Batman's sudden appearance made Peter Parker's heart skip a beat. He quickly dodged and clung to the exterior wall of a building, putting distance between them.

"Bat… Bat-Batman, I'm not your enemy, I'm your fan!"

Peter hastily explained. He didn't want his idol to consider him an enemy, nor did he want to get involved in this dangerous conflict. He just wanted to be a spectator and watch the show.

"Fan?"

Anton's expression was strange, but he felt quite pleased, a sense of accomplishment welling up within him.

Buzz!

"He's over there!"

Suddenly, a thug spotted Batman's location.

Not far away, someone, for some reason, controlled a searchlight, and the huge light enveloped Batman.

At the same time, Spider-Kid, who was next to Batman, was also covered by the light.

"Who's that?"

"Never mind, kill them!"

"Kill them!"

The thugs fired repeatedly.

The next second, Batman once again disappeared into the shadows.

Spider-Kid hesitated for a moment, looking at the incoming energy bullets, and was so frightened that he hurriedly shot out webbing and moved to a more distant building.

He didn't know that in another corner, a figure holding a camera had captured Batman and Spider-Kid under the searchlight and pressed the shutter.

"Tsk tsk, as the editor-in-chief of the Daily Bugle, I'm really doing my job."

Eddie was quite pleased with himself.

That photo just now perfectly showcased Batman's extraordinary aura. Especially when contrasted with that poor kid wearing a red hoodie with a spider pattern and an ugly red mask, Batman looked even more appealing.

That's the principle of the red flower and the green leaves.

"It's a pity Venom is a bit ugly, otherwise, he wouldn't be mistaken for a bad guy."

Eddie sighed.

He thought of Venom and Riot's battle in San Francisco, on the Golden Gate Bridge.

The news reports were all about Batman defeating two monsters and saving San Francisco.

They had no idea that Batman had teamed up with one of the monsters to take down the other.

Hmm? Something doesn't feel right. "I'm not a monster!"

Venom's furious shout echoed in Eddie's mind.

"Apologize!"

Buzz! Buzz! Buzz! Energy bullets flew everywhere, the dark blue light flashing, turning Hell's Kitchen at night into something like a nightclub.

Batman dodged left and right, leading the thugs on a wild chase.

At this moment, Anton, transformed into Batman, was a little troubled.

Energy Weapons were quite powerful, and he didn't dare to risk testing their strength on himself. However, without dealing with these thugs, it would be difficult to face Kingpin.

He needed to find someone to help.

Anton thought of Spider-Kid, whom he had just met.

"Kid, are you interested in lending a hand?"

He went to the side of Spider-Kid, who was trying his best to hide himself, fearing trouble.

"Huh?"

Spider-Kid looked left and right, then pointed at himself with a confused expression.

"You mean me?"

"Yes, you."

Anton nodded, giving a direct order. "Use the webbing you just shot to pull that big guy over here."

"Big guy" naturally referred to Kingpin.

Spider-Kid hesitated for a moment, looking at Batman, then down at the street. He then looked at Kingpin, who was following behind the thugs, and suddenly his blood boiled.

He nodded hard, stood at the window, shot out his webbing, and then yanked it with all his might.

Kingpin was caught off guard. His massive body was wrapped in webbing and pulled forward with a tremendous force, sending him flying.

"Fuck!"

At this moment, Eddie, transformed into Venom, arrived at Kingpin's original position.

He'd intended to take advantage of Kingpin and his goons chasing Batman, circling around to take out Kingpin directly. But, just as he made his move, Kingpin flew away.

"What the hell is going on here!!"

Eddie, in his Venom form, stood frozen, watching Kingpin flying towards the rooftop, Spider-Kid struggling up there, and Anton standing beside Spider-Kid, cheering him on. He suddenly felt like an outsider... The main story is all yours, I'm just a side story character.
