Chapter 3
Samael POV:
"I step outside, ready to plan the banquet with riguard". I know I'm not the best cook,
but ten years of living alone surely did me some good.
"Rigurd! Can you help me with something?"
"With anything you need, Lord Samael!"
I smile and begin explaining what I want to do and how I'd like to prepare everything.
He thinks for a moment before replying,
"The best solution would be to hunt some monsters in the forest and start preparing
them. You don't need to worry about anything—we'll take care of all the
arrangements to welcome our guests!"
"Thank you, Rigurd. You're a great help! Speaking of cooking, could you let me
handle something separately for Rimuru and me? Of course, we'll all eat together—I
just want to make something special for the two of us to apologize for something I did
in the past."
"Of course, Lord Samael. We will prepare everything needed for your date!"
I wanted to correct him, but I decided to let it go for now—even if I said something,
he probably wouldn't listen.
All I can do now is prepare for my confrontation with Rimuru. I hope I can resolve it
without too much suffering.
Rimuru POV:
We're about a day away from the village. The trip took longer than I expected, and I
can't wait for it to be over.
If it hadn't been for Ranga and the Tempest Wolves, it would've taken much longer.
Ranga is so adorable. His fur is so comfy—he's the best pet anyone could ask for.
The goblins—or rather, hobgoblins—are very good bodyguards, even if they couldn't
help me in Dwargon because I told them to wait outside so they wouldn't scare people.
I hope Samael won't be mad at me when I tell him I went alone.
I should clear things up and tell him I'm not mad that he asked about my preferences.
In fact, I was happy. I was just a little scared of how he'd react and didn't know how
to face him in that moment.
After I told him, I started avoiding him—and instead of getting mad, he helped me
gain favor in the citizens' eyes by taking all the negative attention onto himself.
Still, the prophecy the elf told me bothers me—but at the same time, fascinates and
surprises me.
"Who is destined for you?"
At first, I thought it would be Samael, but he didn't appear—instead, it was a very
beautiful woman caring for some children.
She had black hair and eyes and a burn scar under one eye. I can say she was
incredibly beautiful, but I had hoped to see Samael.
Then something unexpected happened: the image changed.
A girl, appearing about 15 or 16 years old, with imperfect but complete beauty—as if
caught in the moment between childhood and adulthood. Her heterochromatic eyes
glowed with intense purple and light blue. She had two perfect white fangs and wore a
gothic dress.
I remember being shock and kept watching the orb, waiting for the image to change
again—and it did, but not to Samael.
Instead, it showed a girl around 15 with shiny platinum pink hair tied in twin tails and
blue eyes. She looked bored with everything around her.
Then the crystal started changing again—and finally, I saw Samael. But just when I
tried to get a better look, he vanished and the crystal cracked.
I asked if that was normal, and I was told it had never reacted like that before, but the
prediction might not be complete.
I don't know whether I should be jealous or not. I know the prophecy was for me, but
from the looks of it, Samael will have a harem and I'll be part of it.
It sounds fun having so many beautiful women around, but I'm afraid Samael won't
pay attention to me with so many beauties near us.
(Great Sage, what do you think I should do?)
(Answer: You should tell him what you saw, but make sure you also say you're the
first wife and he's not allowed to ignore you.)
(Thank you, Great Sage. But… do you think those are the only ones, or will there be
more wives?)
(Answer: Based on analysis, there is a 92.12% chance more women will marry you
both besides those shown—and a 45% chance that any of those shown may not end
up in the relationship.)
(Why do you think that?)
(Answer: Destiny changes constantly with every choice we make. The only
unchangeable thing from the prophecy is your bond with Samael—it's already
established and cannot be broken.)
(Thank you!)
Then I realized something and, with a mischievous smile, I added:
"Maybe you'll be one of the wives added to our little harem."
(...)
I left her speechless! Finally.
(I'll leave Master Samael's memory section to you.)
…I spoke too soon.
Samael POV:
I walk through the village to see what's changed since I started training.
The only thing that surprises me is the number of goblins without names.
After asking Rigurd where they came from, I found out all the surrounding villages
decided to join us for protection.
I wonder if I should name them myself or wait for Rimuru to return.
(Great Sage, what's the best choice?)
(Answer: The best choice is to name them before she returns, so she doesn't have to
work immediately after a trip. But you could also leave it to her to make sure she's
happy with the names.)
Why does Great Sage sound upset with Rimuru? Did she do something?
(It's just your imagination.)
Yup, she's upset. I'd better not get between them—I don't want to end up like
Veldora.
I decided to do the naming myself but told them to choose their names, and I'd
approve them.
I made sure to tell them I'm not great with names and didn't want to give them
something inappropriate, so they could either pick a good one or wait for Rimuru.
Surprisingly, each family gathered in groups and began choosing similar names to
show they were part of the same family.
Of course, there was that one idiot who tried to give himself an impossibly long name
just so I couldn't pronounce it—so I named him "Monkey."
What intrigue me is that he started looking more and more like Sarutobi Hiruzen—
because I was thinking about him when I named him.
(Great Sage, why did he start to look like Sarutobi Hiruzen?)
(Answer: When someone gives a name, if they have a mental image in mind, the
named person will begin to resemble that image.)
All I can do now is pray that the village doesn't fall into his hands—or everyone with
potential might end up dead.
I've decided—no one will ever be named Danzo.
Jokes aside, I continued the naming ritual and then went on with the preparations.
i built a food stand stand for myself and Rimuru—but made sure to prepare enough
for Veldora and Great Sage too, even though she said she doesn't need to eat.
I know I can't make authentic Japanese food, but I can at least make something
delicious.
I hunted some unintelligent monsters that looked like massive lizards.
After several tries, I managed to cook something—not as good as I imagined, but
decent enough for my purpose.
Preparations continued—the hobgoblins worked on decorations, and the goblin
women prepared the meat, vegetables, and everything else for the festival.
Rimuru should arrive in about an hour, and I need to make sure everything is perfect.
I know I shouldn't, but I feel like I have to do this—to apologize and start a
conversation about my desire to visit other cities and build teleportation gates.
Now that I think about it, I never placed a door to teleport directly to Home, only to
the Garden.
(Great Sage, how has Rigurd been visiting me all week to bring food?)
(Answer: I transferred the door's teleport location to ensure you'd receive food.)
I can tell from her tone—she's mad, but also proud of herself.
(Thank you, Great Sage. You always help me even when I don't ask. I really
appreciate it.)
(!!!)
(What was that?)
(Nothing. Just your imagination!)
for a moment, she spoke with unusual haste—but I'll let her be for now.
(How long until Rimuru arrives?) I wanted to ask her directly, but she told me not to
contact her until she's back.
She was really upset with me...
(42:23... 42:22... 42:21...)
(Thanks.)
"Alright everyone! Rimuru will arrive in about 40 minutes! Let's start preparing the
food! I want you ready to greet her and welcome our new villagers! Rimuru will
explain their roles and details when she arrives—or tomorrow if we celebrate too hard!
And don't forget—if anyone tries to lay a hand on her, they'll need a replacement!"
Everyone laughed at my threat.
Apparently, Rimuru and I are seen as a couple now, and we don't have to hide it—and
I'm super protective.
I know I'm protective of Rimuru, but if the couple part were true, I'd feel even better
making those promises.
And so it began: the fires were lit to prepare the feast and start the festival to welcome
our new residents.
Rimuru POV:
We're just a few minutes away from the village, and we've been seeing smoke for a
while now.
I tried to ask Great Sage or Samael about it, but apparently, Samael gave strict orders
that this was supposed to be a surprise for our return—and if I try to find out, he
won't talk to me for a month.
We reached the village gates, and what I saw left me speechless—and I don't think I
was the only one.
Standing at the entrance was Samael, dressed in a kimono, holding a bowl of food in
his hands. A few hobgoblins were dressed the same, standing beside a crate full of
food.
"What's going on here?" I asked, surprised—but also… kind of happy.
"I organised a festival to welcome our new residents. I used some of my abilities to
construct temporary houses. I'm no architect, so I'm not sure how good they are, but
I'm hoping you'll help us rebuild them properly," he said, walking over to Kaijin and
his brothers.
He extended his hand and introduced himself.
"Hello. My name is Samael Tempest. May I know the names of the artisans who will
be living in our small village?"
Kaijin looked surprised for a moment, then shook his hand.
"Hello to you too, Samael. My name is Kaijin, and these are Garm, Myrd, and Dord—
they're like brothers to me. We came at Lady Rimuru's request, hoping to be helpful."
Kaijin and his brothers bowed their heads respectfully after the greeting.
"It's a pleasure to have such capable allies in helping develop the village. We know
it's still early, but I assure you—it will grow into one of the greatest cities. Maybe
even into a nation someday."
Then he look at me and continued:
"Rimuru, some clothes have been prepared for you and our guests. Yours are at
'Home', and Rigur will escort the rest of you to yours."
After saying that, he turned and walked toward the cooking area.
I decided to go along with it for now—but I'm definitely going to ask questions once I
return.
Samael POV:
I look around the village, now remodeled with Great Sage's help, and think about
how lucky I am to have her by my side.
With her help, I managed to create clothing for all the villagers and shape temporary
houses for the festival.
I know it's not as good as a professional's work, but even if I could have done it
better, I would've held back.
Why? Simple—we need the villagers to be able to function without depending on us
completely.
I know death is something we'd both like to avoid, but it's still possible—and we
can't leave this village helpless.
Maybe someday we'll want to relax, step back, and let the next generation take care
of it.
I sat quietly, contemplating the future and what we'll need to do to ensure the village
thrives… when I heard a door opening.
My brain short-circuited—every thought vanished.
All I could do was stare at the vision before me and pray it wasn't a dream.
Rimuru stood there, dressed in a ceremonial priestess kimono.
Why a priestess? I don't know—but I do know that Great Sage chose and crafted
each outfit, including mine.
I think my heart stopped when I saw her.
The kimono was a blend of white and blue (matching her hair), with golden
decorations—I'm sure it was real gold since we had some in 'Home' that was
probably used.
Not that I'm thinking about that right now, but I'm sure it'll be important later.
"How do I look?" her voice pulled me out of the trance I had fallen into moments
earlier, and before I got lost again, I decided to answer:
"I think you should change."
As soon as I said that, her expression becomes sad and she looked like she was about to
leave—so I stopped her.
"If you don't change, I think many of the hobgoblins—or anyone who sees you—
might die. I know it's not fair, but you're way too beautiful. I'll probably have to beat
up anyone who gets too close to you."
At that moment, she blushes and comes to me.
I was expecting a lot of things, but not to be punched that hard.
I felt a few ribs crack as she grabbed my hand and pulled me toward the festival.
Women are so complicated.
Still… I could see the smile on her face—and maybe I deserved that hit.
The final result didn't bother me.
That's how our evening continued:
A few jokes, an argument or two (which I lost), I won a few small souvenirs I had
made before the festival…
But the best part was seeing her smile the entire time.
Later that night, we decided to return Home to talk and relax a bit.
Plus, Rimuru needed to talk to Veldora—he was probably feeling left out.
"Samael… what was that welcome about? Where did it come from?"
The look in her eyes told me I wasn't getting out of this without an answer.
"Well, the idea wasn't mine. Great Sage suggested it when I was thinking of how to
apologize for what I said."
I looked away, avoiding her gaze.
"To apologize?" Her tone was confused.
"Yeah… I made you uncomfortable, and I wanted to make it up to you somehow.
If it's not enough, I'll wait and accept whatever 'order' you give me.
In fact, it won't even be a request—it'll be a command I can't refuse, as long as it's
not something too extreme."
"A command you can't refuse!?"
I could see the surprise in her eyes—and I understood.
I said it, and I meant it.
Even if it's just one command, it could be anything.
"Then my command is…"
I looked at her—her face flushed red.
But instead of saying it, she gave me a teasing smile.
"...saved for another time."
All I could do was smile and accept it.
I didn't specify when it had to happen, so I didn't need to say anything.
"Now that we've got that out of the way, can you tell me how things went in
Dwargon?"
The moment I said "Dwargon," something strange happened—she froze for a second.
I had a bad feeling about this…
And I was right.
I think I'm going to kill someone.
"Let me get this straight: The trip went fine… until some adventurers tried to sell you
as a slave.
Then you got arrested for defending yourself and spent a whole day in jail.
After that, you met some master artisans who came with you.
In a complicated situation, you helped them, and they treated you to a bar with elves.
Then a minister assaulted you, and when Kaijin protected you by punching him, you
got arrested again.
You were taken to court where your defender lied and tried to have you sentenced to
prison—or the mines—for 20 years.
But luckily, the king had a brain and made the right choice and let you go.
Did I miss anything?"
"Nope, that's everything. Why did you say 'luckily for them' though?"
My smile must've scared her a little.
"Well, while you were away, I was training with Veldora and developing abilities to
fight armies.
And I can use a teleport gate to pull you out at any time—and launch an attack created
by Veldora at their capital as a reward."
She chuckled nervously.
"Haha… good thing that didn't happen, then."
"Yeah, it is. Now I just have to deal with the ones who tried to sell you—and that
minister."
"Can't we just let it go? Killing people just because they annoyed us won't be good
for our image."
I understood her point—but there's one thing I had to clarify.
"Rimuru, protecting yourself isn't wrong.
If you didn't have power, you'd probably be a slave by now.
Here, slaves are bound by absolute obedience magic—anyone who bought you
could've done anything.
It's the same spell used when nations summon 'heroes'.
They don't want their 'resources' to go rogue, so they use that spell to ensure
obedience."
I finished, staring at her seriously.
I could see the moment she realized what could have happened.
"Is there no way to break that spell?"
"There is—but it's complicated. For us, it'd be easier.
All you'd need to do is enter our dimension, and the spell would be analyzed and
destroyed immediately.
But for anyone else? Almost impossible."
I could see relief in her eyes—and also a bit of fear at what might've happened.
"I can forgive the minister—but not the adventurers. I'll hunt them down and make
them wish they were dead."
"That's all I can do, right?"
She looked at me with sadness.
Why is she sad? It's not like these were good people.
"Why are you upset? I want them to pay for what they tried to do to you.
It's not like I'm attacking innocents."
"If you go after anyone who insults me in the future, it'll bring trouble!"
I paused for a moment—then started laughing.
"Hahahaha… That was actually funny."
"Why are you laughing at me?!"
I looked at her—she had puffed-up cheeks like a hamster.
Absolutely adorable.
"Okay okay, you can calm down—I promise I won't laugh anymore."
After she calmed down a little, I continued,
"I wasn't laughing about there being trouble. I laughed at the idea that anyone would
dare to attack you."
Seeing that she wasn't convinced, I started explaining.
**"First off, the village is full of hobgoblins—and any monster we bring in will be
named.
As the leader, you'll be protected by everyone who doesn't want to go to war with us.
Second, Veldora. Once he's out, he'll live here.
And from what I've learned, not many people want the old Veldora—the one who
used to destroy nations—as their neighbor.
He caused so much destruction, he's considered a natural disaster.
Third, our power is continuously growing.
According to Veldora, we're already at the level of 'Demon Lord Seed'.
If we had enough souls, we could evolve into full Demon Lords.
At that point, no nation would dare attack you."**
Rimuru stood there, stunned, for several minutes.
Then she began,
"What do you mean we're at 'Demon Lord Seed' level?
Weren't there conditions we had to fulfill first?"
**"Yes, normally—but we don't need to worry about that.
You seem to have forgotten one of our shared abilities: No Limits.
It allows us to grow without restriction—no barriers at all.
Plus, we have Magicules Breath Reactor, which constantly increases our magicule
levels.
Even though we're passively emitting magicules due to our aura, the rate at which we
gain them is higher.
According to Great Sage and Veldora, we'll reach Demon Lord level in about 2 years.
After that, we'll enter a deep sleep and begin evolving.
Preferably, we'll store more magicules and delay it a bit so we're stronger when the
time comes—but we'll see how it goes."**
I could tell she was shocked—but what I said was based on things staying the same.
That time frame assumes we're not attacked by an army or gain the required souls
through another means.
It's not like we can predict the future.
"You're saying that in a year we'll reach that level of power?!"
"We won't be among the strongest, but yes, I think we'll be somewhere in the middle."
"That's fantastic!! That means we'll be able to protect everyone!"
"Yes, we will. But I'd like us to wait until we reach a higher power level, just to be
sure."
That made her think a bit—I could see it. I could see her trying to figure out the best
way to respond, and what we should do going forward. But what worried me more
was what I was going to do next.
Enough time had passed, and I understood that what I felt was probably love, but I
didn't know how to bring up the subject. Would it ruin our friendship? Or would she
accept it?
(Great Sage, what do you think Rimuru would say if I asked her to be my girlfriend?)
(Answer: You will receive a slap, be accused of idiocy and soullessness, and she
likely won't speak to you for at least a year.)
I froze. That was... not what I expected. I thought she'd accept or reject it, but this?
This went beyond expectations.
(How did you come to that conclusion?) I wanted to know why it would be such a big
deal—was it something I did?
(Answer: The moment your souls connected, you became closer than husband and
wife. You bonded your existence, your futures, and your destinies—something no
other being would do because of the inherent risks. So, to ask her now to "be your
girlfriend" would sound as if your relationship is temporary, something fleeting. The
better solution would be to prepare for a wedding—but even that isn't necessary,
given your existing connection.)
...
I`m incredibly stupid.
All this time together, and I never realized that the moment we first spoke was the
moment I proposed—and she accepted.
Now I want to ask my wife to be my girlfriend? Yeah, I deserve that slap.
I needed to find a way to move forward that didn't end in bruises.
The best option seemed to be a formal engagement—something symbolic, a promise,
even if it was just a formality.
So after planning it all out, I decided to go for it.
"Rimuru, I think we should talk about what's next for us." I began, snapping her out
of her thoughts.
"First, I want to start exploring this world. I know we have the Library and access to
all kinds of knowledge, but I want to create teleportation gates in each major city. The
more, the better.
Also, I want to make a name for myself as an adventurer. For that, I can't stay
connected to the village—if I make enemies, they might target us here. We need time
to prepare for any possible attack."
Rimuru stayed silent for a moment… and then exploded.
"Absolutely not! Do you have any idea how dangerous it is to travel alone? Do you
know what could happen if someone strong attacks you or uses an ability to enslave
you? Sure, you have a chance to escape, but it's still dangerous!"
After she kept going for a bit, I decided to hug her.
It caught her so off guard that she went silent.
"Thank you for worrying about me."
Time passed slowly as we both took a moment to gather our thoughts.
"I know there are risks and that it'd be safer to wait and grow in strength. But I don't
want us to be caught unprepared. Don't forget what happened in Dwargon—you were
attacked just because you're a slime and they assumed you were weak. What if
something similar happens and we're not strong enough to defend ourselves? The best
plan is to keep the world from knowing we're connected—at least until we're
powerful enough to protect what matters to us."
"I still don't like it!"
"How about this? I'll be gone until we reach the level of a Demon Lord. Then I'll
come back and… we'll hold a wedding here."
I think I broke her—she looked shocked. But I hoped she wouldn't question the
nature of our current relationship.
"A wedding? Where did that come from?! You haven't even given me a ring! Why do
you think I'll be your wife?!"
Wait—this wasn't how it was supposed to go! She was supposed to be happy, then
accept! Not start accusing me!
I tried to come up with a response, but I just kept opening and closing my mouth,
searching for words.
"Hahahaha…"
Rimuru started laughing.
"Why are you laughing? What's so funny about this?"
She didn't let me down.
"Haha, sorry, I couldn't help myself. That's your punishment for taking so long to
propose! Now you know how I felt all this time. What—did you think you wouldn't
be punished for waiting so long?"
Okay… maybe I got off easy.
Hopefully, she never finds out—or at least not anytime soon—that I didn't realize I
had already proposed when we first met.
"I'll let you go, but there are going to be some rules:
1.You'll come home every night.
2.You will spend more time with me.
3.No sex until we're married.
4.I want a ring! One you've thought about that represents something.
5.You're not allowed to sleep with other women unless I meet and approve them.
6.…"
"Wait a sec—what's rule 5 supposed to mean?"
"Ah, we didn't talk about this yet! Sorry, my bad. Remember when I told you I was
bi?"
"Of course I remember. Isn't that the reason I had to apologize?"
"Yes. You see, I don't mind you having other girlfriends, as long as I approve them
and they're okay with it too.
And you'll have to accept the ones I bring into the relationship."
That smile of hers looked way too innocent.
"Why does it feel like I'm the one who should be jealous and worried about how
many people will be joining our relationship?"
"Don't worry, I won't bring in too many. But those who do join need to be okay with
our kind of dynamic. Most of them will probably be monsters. After all, it's normal
for powerful monsters to have multiple wives."
"Don't you think that sets a dangerous precedent? There are nearly equal numbers of
men and women in our village."
"Hmm, then we'll make a rule:
If you want multiple wives, you have to support all of them and have at least one child
with each."
"Is this rule just for men?"
"No, women can choose it too. But it's unlikely a woman would go for it."
"Why do you think that?"
"Instinct. For monsters, a strong partner is important.
Don't forget—they lose a portion of their power when they have kids.
Women will look for stronger partners and won't mind sharing them if they can still
have a child. That's common among monsters.
Men are different—they don't want to raise a child that isn't theirs.
A man can have multiple children with different women at the same time, but a
woman can't have multiple children with different men at the same time."**
"So it all comes back to genetics."
"Yup."
"Okay, what other rules do you have for me?"
"Where were we… Rule 7: You're obligated to hug me whenever I ask and give me
all the attention I want."
"Got it. I accept all the rules. But what should I do if I get companions during my
travels? I probably won't always be alone."
"Hmm… You can create a separate house for them. Then you come here.
You can tell them you have a space where you can make multiple rooms with your
ability—and then we'll screen them for any bad intentions."
"That's a good idea. But when I return and they find out about my ability, won't they
start suspecting I'm hiding even more?"
"Can we talk about that when it becomes relevant? Right now, I just want to be with
you and relax. I don't want to think about the future problems."
"Alright, alright. So what do you want to do now?"
"Isn't it obvious? Let's go to bed!"
I wanted to say something, but Rimuru didn't let me get a word out and pulled me
toward the bedroom.
We both got changed—separately, of course—and lay in bed to spend our first night
sleeping together.
Now I was a little nervous. I didn't know if something might happen between Rimuru
and me.
From what I know about her, she doesn't seem like the type to want that sort of thing
right away, but what if she decided to speed things up?
To my relief—and maybe a little disappointment—nothing happened.
Just me and Rimuru, sleeping soundly. I had a weight on my chest, and she had a
brand-new pillow.
The night was incredibly peaceful, and the sleep I got was the best I've ever had—in
both of my lives.
I can honestly say, with the biggest smile, that I don't plan on getting up.
When I opened my eyes, I saw an angel sleeping on my chest.
What kind of man would I be if I moved at that moment?
I just sat there, staring at the girl who stole my heart, and I couldn't help but smile.
Her face was delicate, like it had been crafted by a god. I stared at her, silently
thanking whatever lucky stars gave me this chance to be with her for eternity.
While I was thinking about how lucky I was, I realized that everything from last night
had really happened.
Rimuru wants me to have multiple wives—most likely because she wants to be able
to sleep with women without feeling guilty, so she just said it's "normal."
Lost in thought, I didn't notice Rimuru starting to stir and wake up.
"Good morning, darling."
Her voice, a little shy but happy, brought me out of my thoughts, and I looked at her.
"Good morning, love." I replied with a smile, but I didn't move.
Rimuru looked a bit annoyed, so I continued, "How did you sleep? How are you
feeling?"
She didn't respond—just stared at me like I'd done something wrong and was waiting
for me to apologize.
"Can you tell me what I did?" I asked.
Rimuru looked like she wanted to stay mad longer but finally answered after a
moment:
"You forgot to do two things!
First, you didn't kiss me goodnight.
Second, you didn't kiss me good morning!"
She stared at me like I had ruined her entire day.
What was I supposed to do? Sure, I was guilty of not knowing she wanted me to kiss
her—but how was that my fault if she didn't say anything?
"So… you want me to kiss you every night before bed and every morning when we
wake up?"
"!!!"
Rimuru looked flustered, clearly unsure how to respond—so I didn't give her the
chance to recover.
I leaned in and claimed what was mine.
Her lips were incredibly soft. She obviously hadn't expected it, but after a few
seconds, she started responding—and with each passing moment, she grew more
eager.
As much as I wanted nothing more than to pin her to the bed and finally have our first
real experience together, I knew we needed to stop.
Not because we didn't want to continue, but because we'd both agreed to take things
slow and wait until our wedding night to take that final step.
I began to pull away. I could see the same feeling reflected in her eyes:
disappointment.
I hated stopping—but we had to draw a line, at least until everything settled down.
Until we were certain our power would be enough to make anyone who challenged us
tremble in fear.
That kind of strength might be hard for some people—but for us, it was just a matter
of time.
And time… was something we had plenty of.
"Rimuru, I think it's time we have some breakfast and talk to Veldora. Don't forget—
he lives here too.
Maybe once he's out of the way, we can do a little more. But as long as he's around,
we can't risk him barging into our room or overhearing anything."
It took a few minutes of convincing and a couple of promises, but eventually, she
agreed.
"Great Sage, did you make this food?" Rimuru asked, her jaw practically on the floor
in front of the buffet.
"Answer: No. I merely reheated and slightly modified the food prepared by Master
Samael. He forgot to present the meal last night due to all the commotion, so I
decided to serve it this morning."
I stood there, dumbfounded. She re-prepared my cooking?
That's basically the equivalent of turning a 2-star meal into a 5-star breakfast.
I definitely owe her something for this.
"Great Sage, this isn't even comparable to what I made. If we're being honest, I
cooked like an amateur, and you served like a five-star chef. I know you're not one
for praise, so instead, let me ask—do you want anything? Whatever it is, as long as
it's within our power, we'll do everything we can to make it happen."
I waited, watching her reaction. I could tell Great Sage wasn't expecting that.
But it's the least I could do—Great Sage is, after all, the ability that links me and
Rimuru.
"…Then, if it's possible… could I sleep with you two from now on?"
I sat there stunned. That was not the kind of request I expected.
Aren't skills supposed to be emotionless? I thought she might ask for more memory,
or maybe something abstract—not to sleep in our bed.
Before I could answer, Rimuru beat me to it:
"Of course you can! But you'll have to cook breakfast and dinner for us whenever we
want!
And also—you have to stop calling us 'Masters'! If you can accept those conditions,
you're welcome to join us."
I looked at Rimuru, trying to figure out what she was doing, but she gave me a look
that said "stay quiet", so I did.
"Understood, Ma—" she stopped as Rimuru glared at her.
"Rimuru."
Rimuru smiled and looked back at me.
"Samael, it looks like you have two girls in your harem now!"
My left eye twitched uncontrollably. Apparently, Rimuru had taken the whole harem
thing very seriously—so seriously she was pulling girls into our bed at breakfast.
We hadn't even had sex yet, and I already had a second fiancée.
How did I end up here? Why is Rimuru recruiting more women?
Don't tell me… she wants a harem of women and is using me to collect them?
I decided it was best to accept whatever was coming.
Rimuru would never do anything to hurt me—at least not with ill intent.
I sat down at the table, and Rimuru climbed into my lap.
That was the compromise we made: she gets to sit in my lap, and I have to feed her
for an entire week.
Smiling at Rimuru, I look at Great Sage.
"Great Sage, do you know where Veldora is?"
"Answer: Veldora is still in bed. He decided not to join us for breakfast today."
She said it like it was nothing, but I doubt that's the whole truth. Still, best not to dig
deeper if I don't want to end up like him.
"Great Sage, why aren't you sitting with us? Don't forget—you're the one who made
this food, so it's only natural for you to eat with us."
I could tell Great Sage wanted to protest, but Rimuru stopped her.
"Great Sage, don't forget—you're sleeping with us now.
So you'd better start eating with us, too.
If you can't even do this, what are you going to do tonight? Stand at the edge of the
bed waiting for us to wake up?"
Great Sage said nothing else and sat across from me, though Rimuru didn't look
entirely satisfied.
I signaled her to let it go—for now.
We continued eating. Rimuru complimented every dish, and I did my best to keep up
with her bottomless appetite—feeding her from a seemingly infinite bowl called
Rimuru.
What surprised me the most was the smile I caught from Great Sage—just for a
second.
She's definitely starting to understand emotions.
Just as we finished eating, Veldora finally showed up, descending the stairs.
"Good morning, everyone! Rimuru, Samael—congratulations on your engagement!
I don't know how much longer I could've handled the tension between you two.
I'm so happy you worked things out!"
"Veldora… how do you know we finalized our relationship?" Rimuru started calmly,
but the energy she was giving off was terrifying. If Veldora didn't answer just right,
he was in trouble.
"Uhh… well, you see… I might've overheard you when you got back and… yeah…"
Yep, he was panicking. I'd love to punish him myself, but it's probably best to let this
one go.
I walked over to Rimuru and took her hand.
"Rimuru, why not let him off this time? He probably overheard us by accident and
couldn't help himself.
I need to start getting ready for my journey today anyway. Wouldn't it be better to
talk about the best place to head to first instead of arguing with Veldora?"
Rimuru started to calm down—but Veldora definitely wouldn't get off so easy next
time.
"Fine. This time I'll let it go.
But next time, don't listen to our private conversations.
If it happens again, and you start overhearing us, the best decision you can make is to
go to another room—or at least announce that you're there.
You won't get off so easily next time.
Am I clear?"
"Yes, ma'am!"
Why does he look like a soldier in boot camp right now? I don't know—but it's
hilarious.
Rigurd's POV
I'm in the middle of the village giving instructions when I see Master Samael walking
toward me.
"Master Samael, how can I help you?"
"Hello Rigurd, I came to ask how things are going and to let you know that I'm going
on an expedition soon. I'd like you to be the one to inform everyone."
"I'll do as you wish, Master Samael. But may I ask—where will you be going?"
I expect it to be a short trip, like Lady Rimuru's, and I start thinking about who would
be the best bodyguards to accompany him.
"I've decided to travel the world for a period of time, about a year—two at most."
I froze. Master Samael wants to leave us. Maybe Lady Rimuru is planning to leave as
well.
"Master Samael, are you planning to leave and not return? What about Lady Rimuru?
Will she go too?"
My voice comes out fast, terrified of what will happen if our protectors abandon us.
My mind fills with questions: Maybe they didn't enjoy the banquet? Maybe someone
insulted them? Maybe someone tried to touch Lady Rimuru?
My thoughts spiral until Master Samael places a hand on my shoulder and looks me in
the eyes.
"Don't worry. Nothing bad has happened. I just want to explore the world. Rimuru
will stay in the village. I'll return if there's any danger. I came now to tell you so I can
be sure Rimuru always has someone here to protect her."
I let out a breath and look up at Samael.
"Master Samael, don't worry—we'll protect Lady Rimuru with our lives if we must!"
After I said that, Master Samael looked at me with those eyes... Eyes that seem to
know everything about a person.
Compared to Lady Rimuru, his eyes are filled with an incredible determination and
power.
Rimuru is innocence. Samael seems like he'd destroy anything that tries to harm that
innocence.
It's not cruelty—it's resolve.
His eyes say:
"I will protect everything I care about, no matter what comes against me. Whether it's
one person or a thousand soldiers—they'll all fall the same before me."
I get the feeling that the only thing keeping him calm right now is Rimuru.
An image comes to mind as I think about the two of them:
A dragon who fell in love with a princess and will do everything to protect her, no
matter the enemy.
And the princess keeping the dragon from destroying the world.
After Lord Samael leaves, I return to my duties—I need to make sure everything is
ready for his journey.
Samael's POV
I stand in front of the village. I've spoken with Great Sage and Rimuru about
potential destinations, and we've decided the first place I should go is Blumund, to the
Guild, to get an adventurer's license.
I look behind me and see everyone who came to see me off—Rigurd, Ranga, Kaijin,
Rimuru, Gobta, and many others.
My departure was met with surprise and panic at first, but when they heard that
Rimuru would be staying behind, everyone calmed down.
They probably thought they were being abandoned—but I have no intention of ever
doing that.
"Goodbye, everyone! I'll miss you while I'm gone!
Don't forget to protect Rimuru—Ranga, that's your main job.
I know she's stubborn, but if she's ever in danger, get her out immediately and
contact me.
Rigurd—take care of the village. Don't let Rimuru do all the administrative work.
I know she'll try, but don't give her more than she can handle."
I stop and walk over to Rimuru, take her hand, and continue:
"Take care of yourself. Don't start unnecessary fights.
If someone attacks you—beat them until they can't move, then ask questions.
If something dangerous comes near, notify me.
If someone tries to flirt with you—tell me, so I know who I need to make disappear."
I figure that's enough for now. I lean in and capture her lips—right in front of
everyone.
This is the first time I've shown our relationship publicly.
And before Rimuru can react, I disappear, vanishing into shadow.
Rimuru's POV
I stand there, frozen, trying to process what just happened.
Samael disappeared right after kissing me in front of everyone, leaving me to explain
how and when our relationship started.
(You're going to pay for that tonight.)
I start mentally planning how to get back at him for this—
but first, I need to answer all the questions coming my way.
I let out a deep sigh and look down.
That's when I notice it—on my left hand sits a gold ring with a large blue diamond,
surrounded by several violet stones—probably a rare kind of gem.
I can't stop the smile that spreads across my face.
Still, I won't forgive him for this. I will have my revenge.
"Lady Rimuru! Why didn't you tell us you two were a thing?!
You've been hiding this from us the whole time!" Gobta blurted out.
I want to hit him so badly right now.
Thankfully, Rigurd smacks him on the head before he says anything worse.
"Lady Rimuru, please allow me to offer my congratulations.
I don't know how long you've been together, but this is wonderful news.
Might I suggest a celebration?"
Rigurd's suggestion isn't bad, but now's not the right time.
"Not necessary right now, Rigurd.
We'll have a wedding when he returns from his journey.
This," I say, holding up the ring, "is an engagement ring.
Which means we're going to get married.
It's his promise—and he'll keep it.
We'll pick a time together once he's back."
I turn my gaze to the road ahead, already thinking about how happy I'll be when he
returns…
…and how I'm going to punish him tonight.
Maybe I'll cook something so terrible he won't be able to eat it—but still force him to
eat it anyway.
Decisions, decisions...
Veldora's POV
I'm sitting on the couch reading manga, but my mind isn't fully here.
I keep thinking about what I overheard last night.
Samael has decided to pick a day for the wedding.
I hope I'll be free by then to attend.
Two years... that's the maximum amount of time I'll have a couple living in this
house.
Maybe I'll ask Samael or Rimuru to create a separate house for me so I can enjoy a
quiet night now and then.
Until then, I just hope they don't start making too much noise.
The most interesting moment was when Great Sage asked to sleep with them.
I used Magic Sense from my room and heard everything.
Rimuru really wants Samael to have a harem.
She probably likes the idea of all the attention from other women.
Maybe he'll have some private lovers? That would be funny—but knowing their
relationship, it probably won't be that complicated.
Maybe they'll even switch genders for fun one night? Who knows?
But I better not ask... who knows what Rimuru would do to me—or worse, Samael if
he found out?
I might get away with a small punishment from Rimuru—but Samael? Death would
probably be kinder than what he'd do.
Seriously—how did that guy go from an amateur to a war machine in just one week?
I glance around and spot Great Sage sitting in an armchair, reading a book with a
smile on her face—something you don't see often.
"Why are you so happy?"
"Mis—Rimuru and Samael accepted that we'll sleep together now."
I already knew that, but I nod and act surprised—I'm not about to get punished again.
"Oh, so you're part of his harem now?" I asked, not really expecting a straight answer.
"Yes, I'm officially his second fiancée."
That caught me off guard. I look at her left hand and see a ring—gold, with a black
diamond that matches her hair, surrounded by violet stones.
"When did that happen?" I couldn't help but ask.
My brother now has two fiancées in two days...
I just hope he doesn't end up with a new one every day or he'll be dead before the
week's out.
"Before he left, he gave it to me, saying he wanted everyone to know I belonged to
him, in case I ever go outside.
He gave it to me before Rimuru's—just so he could surprise her before he left."
I stare at her.
What does my brother have that makes women flock to him like this?
Wait—this might not even be his fault.
It's probably Rimuru's doing—she's the one who said Great Sage should join the
harem.
He just accepted it.
His life won't be easy from now on...
Still, I hope he doesn't end up with more wives than he can handle.
If this happens, Brother, have mercy on his soul.
