Disclaimer: I own nothing. All
characters in the story are consenting adults over 18 years of age.
The preparations took a few hours, but luckily, we managed to finish before the
attack started. I gathered all the goblins at the village entrance. Naturally,
the children were in the center of the group to be protected from all sides,
ensuring we wouldn't be attacked from a direction we weren't informed about. We
couldn't afford to leave anything unprepared.
At one point, I thought about putting them into my dimension, but the "Great
Sage" said it wasn't a good idea because of Veldora. He still couldn't control
his aura, and that would instantly kill the children—probably the adults too.
Rimuru stood next to me in slime form, saying it was more comfortable for
combat. We were both ready for a tough battle. Unfortunately, the intel we had
received didn't include anything useful other than the time of the attack. We
didn't know their numbers or strength—just what the goblins assumed.
But that wasn't reliable information. ("They're stronger than us.") That was
the entire report. Nothing about a leader or anyone else.
I looked at Rimuru and remembered how excited she was when she started planning
the whole battle.
{Flashback:}
"Samael! Samael! What do you think we should do for preparations? Should we
come up with a battle strategy? Or maybe just get ready to go fight alone? Now
that I think about it, wouldn't it be better to send all the goblins into the Home
rather than leave them to die? Let's not forget—we're the leaders of this
territory now, and if our subordinates die before we can build or reshape the
land, it would stain our reputation!"
Saying that, she looked at me like I had all the answers—and now she expected
me to give them.
After a few moments, I started answering as best I could.
"First of all, we need to make preparations—at least to fortify the areas
around the village, especially the weakest side, which we know is where they'll
come from. Unfortunately, the goblins will have to come with us. I wish I could
put them all in my dimension, but since someone is in there, I can't leave
beings that are too weak until he learns to control his aura. Now that I think
about it, I haven't even visited him this whole time—not once. We need to visit
him once this situation is settled. Maybe I can figure out how to place a
permanent door in the village and other places. If I can stop anyone
unauthorized from entering, even better. What do you think?"
"That idea has merit. Maybe we could store the most important information
offices inside your dimension? How does the space expand?"
All the happiness she had before was replaced by seriousness.
"If you want to ask about my abilities, you can ask 'Great Sage,' but I'll
explain: all excess magicules I don't use are automatically sent by 'Great
Sage' to expand the dimension. Come to think of it, Veldora helped grow the
space because of the aura he emits. Beings like us are rare—we can send all our
aura into a reservoir that won't overflow, and we can use it later. But most
strong beings don't have that luxury. When we evolve, we'll need twice the
power to succeed and we'll have to do it simultaneously. That's why we must be
stronger and ready for what the future holds. We're in this together!"
The smile I got made me forget what we were even talking about for a second.
I think Rimuru's guilty of a crime—she could kill anyone with just a smile.
"You're right, we should prepare for what's coming—and for that, we must
become stronger! Tonight is the first real test we've had since we left the
dungeon. Only by fighting strong opponents can we truly understand our power
level. We must be ready to face someone stronger than us!"
She went on explaining all the strategies she had prepared. Of course, most
were created by the "Great Sage," so I praised both her and "Great Sage." Even
though it's just an ability, Rimuru and I think of her more like a partner—someone
who will do everything possible to make sure neither of us dies, no matter the
situation.
{Flashback End}
I turned toward a hill when I heard the sound of a Direwolf—I knew the
battle was about to begin…
After a few minutes, I realized it wasn't a battle, it was a massacre—or at
least it would have been if Rimuru or I had decided to fight seriously. Just
some sticky threads were enough to stop most of the enemies.
When I thought the fight wasn't worth the preparation effort, their leader
attacked. All I could say was "Okay." That's it—just "Okay." I mean, he got
past the sticky threads but was stopped by steel wire. After
refusing Rimuru's offer, she decided to kill him. She didn't even try to
recruit him or anything else. In the end, he wasn't worth the risk—he didn't
even care about his subordinates.
Rimuru transformed into a Direwolf to intimidate the rest of the pack into
leaving—but instead, they pledged themselves to her. Knowing her, she
definitely wasn't expecting that.
In the morning, I decided to visit Veldora. I called Rimuru too, but she
already made plans and said I didn't need to be there. So I went alone to make
sure Veldora hadn't destroyed the house while we were away.
I stepped through the door that formed in front of me and vanished.
Appearing inside the house, I started checking every detail and wasn't
expecting what I saw. Nothing was destroyed. Everything looked untouched.
"Veldora! Can you hear me? Are you in the house?" I called out, and
immediately heard a response.
"Samael! You've come to visit after all this time! I thought you forgot
about me! Can you tell me what you've been up to?"
"Sure, but can you tell me why you're not in the sealing barrier?"
"Muhahaha! Of course, my friend! The barrier keeps me locked in one
place—but here, that 'place' is defined by the terrifying lady you brought
here!"
"Terrifying lady? You mean Great Sage?"
Judging by Veldora's reaction when I said her name, I think I was right. I
don't know what Great Sage did, but I'm sure she didn't let him slack
off. Honestly, it's probably for the best—he got sealed because he was weak
compared to his sisters.
Veldora has more magicules than his sisters, but since he doesn't know how
to control them, that makes him far weaker than them.
"What have you been doing all this time besides training?"
"I've started reading the 'Holy Text' and trying to learn as many abilities
as I can! Other than that, I rest on the couch and stay calm. Oh, and I watch
TV to see what you're all doing—but that gets annoying when you two act like a
couple in the middle of a love story and neither of you admits it!"
"A couple? Me and Rimuru? I don't think so. Rimuru's beautiful, but we
haven't known each other long enough for that. Maybe one day—but time will
tell. Anyway, I wanted to let you know that if you want to expand the
territory, all you have to do is release your energy into the atmosphere and Great
Sage will take care of the rest."
"Of course I'll help! I, Veldora, will help my brother however I can!"
Seeing him so happy brought a smile to my face too. No matter how over-the-top
or catastrophic he can be, he'll do his best to help—even if he's trapped here
for now.
"Thanks for your help. Great Sage, can you come here a moment?"
As soon as I finished speaking, the same girl I had seen before appeared in
front of me—but something had changed… Why did her breasts get bigger?
"Great Sage, did you decide to change your form?"
"It's just your imagination!"
That answer made me too scared to point it out again.
"Anyway… did you plant the 'Hipokute Grass' in the garden?"
"Yes. The 'Hipokute Grass' was planted in a separate section of the
dimension. To reach it, you must teleport using a door—you can't get there
otherwise. It was calculated that it's best to place it in a highly
magicule-dense area, leaving this zone accessible only to strong individuals."
"Can I create different zones in this world?"
"Yes, but it requires power to define the rules of each zone. The one I
mentioned is filled with magicules—perfect for growing Hipokute Grass but
uncomfortable for most monsters and lethal for any human who enters."
What can I say? Great Sage is the most useful support I could ever
ask for—not only helping me grow stronger but also to build something truly
unique.
We continued discussing what kinds of dimensions could be created, and
apparently, I have no limit thanks to a unique ability: Limitless.
But that doesn't mean infinite power—just infinite potential. That means I can
grow forever and won't hit a fixed barrier—just touch the barrier, and it will
shatter.
That made me even more curious. And yes, now we don't have to consume souls
to become True Demon Lords—but this way is much easier than gradual evolution.
I also asked about the Magicule Breath Reactor—and I was thrilled to
learn it grows stronger based on how powerful we are.
After chatting more with Veldora and visiting the garden, I decided to head
out and see what Rimuru had done while I was away—but not before asking Great
Sage about how to create a permanent door somewhere.
The answer surprised me: all I had to do was draw a pentagram on a door using
my blood, and it would connect to the dimension.
Or at least, that's what I had to do—in reality, Great Sage uses my
blood as a reference point to inspect everyone who enters, putting them in a
separate room to scan them before allowing entry.
Not that I could stop her… but did she really have to say she'd toss them into
the abyss and devour their souls if they tried to harm me?
My ability is terrifying. I suddenly feel bad for Veldora.
I said a prayer for Veldora to Veldanava and walked out the door.
As I exited the cabin, I noticed that all the goblins and direwolves had
fallen asleep.
(It's similar to when Rimuru and I were named… Maybe Rimuru already gave them
names? Great Sage, what can you tell me about this?)
(Response: Rimuru has given each monster a name, and they are now beginning
to evolve. Would you like me to list each name she gave? Yes/No?)
(Yes.)
After answering, a flood of information entered my memory—each name tied to a
face.
(Great Sage, can you always send me information this way?)
(Response: It is possible. However, it is not recommended to transmit too
much information at once. The info will include all details. The optimal option
is for me to handle things in detail to ensure perfect execution with minimal
errors.)
(Thanks for the help—but I would like to at least have a general
understanding of my own abilities and those of my enemies. If it's not too much
trouble, of course.)
(Understood. From now on, information about enemy abilities will be
transmitted.)
After finishing our conversation, I started looking for Rimuru. I could
have used thought communication because of the connection between
us—but I preferred to walk around and see the village.
Honestly, this place looks awful, but it has potential. If it were up to me,
we wouldn't be staying here—but I think Rimuru wants to develop it, and I have
no choice but to help.
Maybe I should travel and see this world with my own eyes. Maybe I can grow
stronger through my travels, and Rimuru can develop this place in the meantime.
It's not like we won't see each other often—we can use Home as a
meeting point, and if anything happens, I can come back immediately.
The best thing would be to create doors in different cities around the
world—then we could build a teleportation system that we control.
(Great Sage, can I restrict people's permission to enter a door?)
(Answer: it is possible in two ways:
1.
You create a list of people allowed to enter.
2.
You create a list of people forbidden to enter.
These are the methods available to you.
Attention! You can choose either method for each door.)
(Can I create separate dimensions? Not just parts of a dimension with
different rules but whole dimensions?)
(Answer: It's possible, but the cost will be much higher depending on the size
of the dimension.)
(Can you move the area where Hipokute Grass grows to another dimension?)
(I understand!)
After I solved that, I continued for a few more minutes and found Rimuru
petting Ranga.
"Rimuru, what are you doing? Did you finish naming?" I started with a
smile. Rimuru, startled by my voice, did what any rational person would do in
that moment — she started screaming… "You know you can sense me,
right?"
"Ah, I forgot to pay attention!?" she says, sticking out her tongue
and hitting her head with her fist. To be honest, it's extremely adorable, but
she needs to be more careful, so I plan to scold her a bit.
After scolding her for not paying attention and everything she had done, I
decided to give her some advice:
[From now on, you'd better have Great Sage checking your surroundings
and protecting you in case something bad happens.]
[I understand, but you have to promise not to scare me again!]
[I can't promise that. If you want, you can ask Great Sage to notify
you when I'm nearby. Don't forget, we both share all abilities and can check
each other's memories whenever we want.]
At that moment, Rimuru froze and started turning robotically towards me.
[You didn't do that! Tell me you didn't DO THAT!] she started screaming in my
mind, grabbed me by the collar, and began shaking me to get an answer.
[No, I didn't do that. If you don't believe me, you can ask Great Sage
to tell you what I did.] I hope she calms down with that. After a few moments,
she let go and allowed me to breathe.
[I talked to Great Sage to notify me immediately if you or anyone else
tries to enter that area. I asked her to store all memories separately from
knowledge. Apparently, Veldora visited both my and your zone to get manga. I
asked Great Sage to punish him a little and told her that he has no
more access to the memory area — or I'll punish him personally. Same goes for
you.] After saying that, she looked at me with such intensity that I trembled.
[Yes, Ma'am!]
She nodded, and I let out a breath I didn't know I'd been holding. Women are
terrifying when angry.
"Rimuru, now that we've resolved that, can we go talk about
something?" She nodded and began following me to one of the cabins — well,
'cabin' is a stretch, but it's all we have for now.
"Okay, what did you want to tell me in private? It's not like we couldn't
have continued the conversation via thought communication."
Instead of answering, I went to a corner and cut my palm, letting a few drops
of blood fall to the floor, then created a permanent door and began explaining:
"This is a door that will remain permanently active. I can allow or deny
access to anyone. It's not a door to the usual place but to a new world where
we'll grow Hipokute Grass. I want to create separate zones for every secret
project we create, and we need to make sure they aren't discovered. What do you
think?"
I waited a few moments that felt like hours. Finally, I got a response — a
smile. I think she said something, but I didn't hear anything after that smile.
Who would've thought I'd fall in love so easily? Every time she smiles, I stop
hearing, stop thinking, my mind goes blank. Looking at her, at her lips, I
think how much I'd like to kiss them, to hold her, how much I want...
"Samael! Are you listening to me?" I came back to reality when
Rimuru called my name, looking angry.
"Sorry, I got lost in thought for a moment," I said, scratching the
back of my head.
She looked at me for a few minutes and then, with a victorious face, said
something that surprised me.
"As punishment, you're staying in the village until I return from
Dwargon!" I froze.
"Can you repeat that?" I said, slightly confused.
"Sure — the punishment for not listening to me while I was talking about
what I discussed with Great Sage is that you stay in the village to
protect it!" Saying that, she looked at me like she dared me to argue.
"Okay, I accept my punishment, but please be careful on the road and take
some help with you." When she looked like she wanted to protest, I
continued, "I know you're strong, but you can never be too careful. And
since you're a beautiful woman traveling alone, there will be people who might
try to enslave you. That's why I want you to be as protected as possible."
She was quiet for a few moments, then began:
"I'll accept help, but I won't go in this form. I've decided you're right,
so I'll go in slime form. It's safer than being human and having them find out
I'm a monster."
All I could do was smile and thank her for understanding. She smiled back and
we started discussing other things we had to resolve.
"You still haven't told me how you decided to go to Dwargon," I
said, looking at her with confusion.
"Ahhh, sorry sorry — even though it's your fault for not listening, I
should still tell you!" I could see she was upset for having to repeat
herself, but it's not my fault she's so beautiful that I got lost in thought.
All I could do now was apologize and hope she wouldn't stay upset after
coming back.
"I talked to Great Sage about ways to raise the village's
standard of living, and she recommended I could hire some masters from Dwargon
for what we need — like construction, clothing design, and weapon
creation!"
I looked at her for a few minutes. I knew what she wanted — praise, support
— but I had to think about what she proposed. It's a good idea, but it doesn't
consider how the workers in the village will feel. We just saved them, and now
we're looking elsewhere to build the village — it's like we're telling them
they're useless and can't help, even if they're doing their best. We decided
not to even give them a chance and already labeled them as incompetent.
"Rimuru," I started softly, "I know you've thought a lot
about this with Great Sage's help, but your plan doesn't take into
account how the villagers will feel about it." I waited to see how she
would respond. I expected anger or a hurt look, but after talking to Great
Sage, she said something unexpected.
"What do you think I should do, then?" She asked for help — not the
first time she did — but I thought she wanted to build the village alone. I was
very happy she asked me, especially since she was mad earlier because I didn't
listen and now I was telling her that her idea wasn't good.
"Hmm, you can start by giving them advice and construction plans. After
a week, you can ask if they have any ideas about where to find master builders
to lead projects and help with development. Only after that should you leave.
If you go earlier, it will crush them. And don't forget to tell them that they
will be the ones building — the masters are just there to guide and understand
what resources are available."
After I finished, I expected her to tell me if she accepted my idea or had
another one — but what I got instead was a hug so tight that if I couldn't heal
from any wound, I'd be seriously injured.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you!"
"Okay, okay, calm down! Why are you thanking me so much? It's not like I
said anything major."
It took her a moment to calm down, but she didn't let go.
"Can you tell me now why you thanked me so much?"
With a smile, she explained that she wants to grow the village and take care of
her subordinates.
The fact that she didn't consider their feelings is something she never wants
to happen again. If I hadn't pointed it out, she probably wouldn't have
realized it for a long time, and maybe it would've been too late.
"By the way, what were you doing before you died?" I asked,
looking at her curiously. I know we haven't talked much about our past lives
before coming to this world, but I think enough time has passed since we met.
"Of course, if you don't want to talk, you can refuse. And to apologize,
I'll go first. The name I had isn't important anymore, but everything else
still defines me. I was a 30-year-old adult and worked at a cybersecurity
company. I had two brothers and a sister, my parents were alive and well when I
died. I liked going to the gym, and I was an introvert before coming here. I
had no romantic relationships because of my personality, and I wasn't looking
for one either..." I went on to explain what I did, how my family knew me,
what my life was like before, and everything I'd done up until now.
The only thing I didn't say is that I started falling in love after arriving in
this world.
That night, we started coordinating with the goblins and preparing to build
houses and clothes — something Rimuru demanded after seeing how the women were
dressed. The fact that she blushed and didn't look at me was adorable, but I
noticed she was looking at the women's chests — interesting.
(Maybe she's attracted to women and doesn't want to do something she'll
regret?)
(Master...)
(Great Sage, did you say something?)
(It's just your imagination.)
Something feels off, but I decided to ignore it for now.
"Rimuru! Can we talk for a moment?"
Rimuru, now calmer, just nodded and followed me into the cabin. After sitting
down, I decided to ask the question that had been on my mind all day.
"I noticed you're attracted to the goblin women," I began. "All
I want to know is: Are you a lesbian?"
"..."
(...)
After a few moments of silence, she looked at me and slowly moved closer.
That's when I realized what I'd done, and I knew I was in trouble — but I
accepted the punishment, closed my eyes, and waited in silence.
Instead of pain, I heard a voice in my ear, so soft I almost didn't catch it:
"I'm bi."
As soon as I opened my eyes, I saw Rimuru preparing to leave. I started to
approach her to say everything was okay but realized it was better to give her
space and be glad I didn't get slapped for my stupidity.
The following week was tense. Rimuru decided to avoid me, but Rigurd
informed me not to worry — he received a message from Rimuru saying she just
needed time to cool off and she'd be back to normal soon.
Rigurd said it might be that time of the month. I chose not to correct
him, even though I knew that wasn't true.
My conversation with her was private and shouldn't be shared with the public.
Now that she's not speaking to me, I've started realizing how dumb I really
am and how inappropriate my question was. If we were in a relationship, maybe
the question would've been okay — but we're just friends, and there's nothing
between us.
I shook my head and started inspecting the house structures built so far — and
all I could say was: primitive.
I started nodding and thinking that we needed to prepare a plan and structure
for housing in the village, and for that, we'd need masters in various trades.
The clothing issue hasn't been resolved yet, and the only problem we've solved
so far is food.
(I need to talk to Rimuru and prepare the expedition. Maybe some time apart
will ease the tension we're in.)
I started walking through the village to find her. I know she's avoiding me
and wants space, but we need to talk face-to-face.
After a few minutes of searching, I saw Rimuru and Rigurd in front of a
collapsed house.
"Rimuru, Rigurd, what happened here?"
Rimuru looked at me and then turned her eyes away to avoid eye contact.
Meanwhile, Rigurd began explaining that goblins aren't very skilled at
construction and apologized for not meeting our expectations.
"Hmm. So it's a coincidence," I observed, catching their attention
and deciding to continue.
"Rimuru and I discussed a few days ago how to build houses considering the
lack of skilled people in the village. I suggested we go and hire masters from
Dwargon, but Rimuru said we should wait and see how things go, so we decided to
wait." I stopped and looked at the ruins in front of me.
"Rimuru, I know you trust them to do it on their own, but I think it would
be better if we started preparing for a trip to Dwargon and hire someone who
knows what they're doing and can teach the citizens."
"Samael, you..."
"Mistress Rimuru! Please accept Lord Samael's offer. I know how much faith
you have in us, and we're sorry to disappoint you, but I don't think we're
capable of fulfilling this task! None of us are skilled in this field, and we
don't want to hold you back! We want to help grow this village, so please
accept the offer!" Rimuru was interrupted, and I could tell I'd have to
explain myself later — but right now, she had to answer. Rigurd was on all
fours in front of Rimuru, waiting for her verdict.
"Okay, I understand. I'll accept your idea, Samael. But Rigurd, you can
get up — there's no need to do that every time you ask me something!"
"Rimuru is right, Rigurd. You shouldn't kneel like that. If you want to
show respect, just kneel on one knee — not like this. The way you look now, it
seems like we're tyrants who punish every mistake harshly. But if you kneel on
one knee, it'll show that you trust we'll be fair and won't act cruelly or
unjustly. If you want to accept an order, just nod in acknowledgment."
Rigurd got up and knelt on one knee.
"Thank you, Lord Samael. Lady Rimuru, please forgive my earlier
behavior!"
Before I could say anything, Rimuru smiled and said, "Don't worry, Rigurd
— I'm not insulted. But it's better if you announce this new rule to everyone.
Also, please leave me and Samael to talk."
"Understood, Lady Rimuru!" he said, then ran off to inform everyone,
leaving us alone.
"Rimuru…" I
started to say but was pulled into the cabin by Rimuru, and I stopped talking.
Once inside, I waited for her to begin, and I didn't have to wait long.
"Why did you say it was my idea? You know very well it was the exact opposite
when we talked, and it wasn't just a few days ago—it was from the first day."
she said in a quiet voice, still not looking at me. I started to smile and
slowly approached her.
"Why? It's simple. You're the one who wants to make this village more
prosperous and wants to help, so I decided to make you the leader, and I'll
just support you."
"Why? There was no need to do that—even if you wanted to make me the leader,
there was no need to say that." After she said that, she turned toward me with
teary eyes.
"The reason is very simple. I want people to know that you have the final say
when it comes to the village. I want them to trust you the way you trust their
abilities. And the fact that I was 'against' it was just to show the villagers
that I'm here to ensure you won't make mistakes and that you'll understand
different perspectives."
After I finished, I looked at her. I know I'm not being fair. I've put a lot of
pressure on her. I gave her power, but also a huge responsibility. Maybe I'll
get slapped—or worse—for this and for last time. But it doesn't matter. This is
her choice, and I'll make sure she won't regret trusting me.
I waited several moments for her to respond, but she just stood there quietly
without saying a word.
"Rimuru? Are you okay?"
Rimuru approached me, and I waited to see what she would do. Instead of hitting
me, she hugged me.
"Thank you. For everything you do for me." I hugged her back, and we stayed
like that for a while.
I watched Rimuru, Gobta, Rigur, Ranga, and the rest of the goblins
leave for Dwargon. I know this is a punishment for me, but I'm worried
something might happen to her now that she's gone.
I'm going to use all the time I have to train—something I forgot to do these
past few weeks.
I informed Rigurd that I'll enter my dimension and to notify me immediately if
there's a problem. I went through the door and began preparing a training plan.
First, I reviewed my abilities—the ones I originally had.
The Unique Skills aren't helpful in combat for now. I wish I could create
portals like Gilgamesh, but unfortunately, that's not possible. I asked Great
Sage and apparently, the reason is that I use a door instead...
The only combat-relevant skills are Blood Manipulation
and Shadow Movement. The first lets me control blood
however I want, and with the help of Instant Regeneration—an
ability far too powerful that I think was a mistake to receive (and I'm not the
only one, since both Rimuru and Veldora say it's unfair and that I'm
cheating)—well, they're right. I can recover from any injury as long as it's
not poison or spiritual damage.
Time to begin. First, I create some weapons out of blood. I start simple—with
swords and spears, then continue with axes, crossbows, bows—and test how
durable they are.
Surprisingly, all weapons can reach legendary rank, which is great. I also
discovered why—my blood contains abnormal amounts of magicules. This means I
should drink way more than a normal vampire, but my abilities allow me to
ignore the need. That makes any blood-forged weapon stronger than it should be.
If I had better control over blood, maybe I could even create god-rank
weapons—something that would make me terrifying. The only downside is that a
weapon made by a blacksmith would still be stronger at the same rank.
Still, quantity shouldn't be underestimated. Unlike a blacksmith, I can make
weapons much faster. And even if I abandon them, they only drop one rank over
time.
Now that I've finished with weapons, I should look into armor and shields.
After several hours of testing, I discovered the level I can reach with
shields. They can exceed weapon level—which surprised me. Apparently, it's
easier to create shields than weapons. A shield is just an extremely
concentrated block of blood. I can't make it solid at an atomic level, but I
got close.
Armor is different. I can store a lot of blood and then instantly use it to
create weapons, shields, or various attacks. The level reaches high into
legendary rank. I discussed this with Great Sage, who
beats me in every possible way. The weapons she creates are incredible.
Unfortunately, I don't know their rank because Rimuru told her not to tell
me—and warned that if I push her, she won't talk to me for a year… Why did I
bind my soul to her? I feel tricked, and even my own skills side with her. I
feel like I got married without knowing it.
Anyway, I shouldn't think about negative things anymore. Let's focus on the
good part: I managed to create animals out of blood! Now I can build an army of
animals, and the best part is that I can give them instructions, and they'll
follow. They feed on my blood and magicules, allowing them to regenerate as
long as I send energy. The fact they can't run out of either is… terrifying.
Shadow Movement is a great skill for evasion and
travel. And right now, I realize we could have exited the dungeon way faster
using this skill…
Now that I think about it, walking made the journey more interesting. Yeah,
I'll stick with walking unless I need to hurry.
I should try fighting Great Sage—she has all my
abilities and can come up with the best strategies, using my and Rimuru's
skills in ways we haven't thought of or can't replicate yet.
(Great Sage, can you help me train?)
She materialized in front of me. I swear on the multiverse's end that I did not
sound like a girl when I screamed. It was a strong, manly scream!
"Apologies, Master. I decided to appear as quickly as possible to assist with
your training."
I swear I saw a smirk, but it disappeared too quickly to be sure.
Maybe the fusion of my and Rimuru's skills turned her from a guide into a
sentient being? Possible?
I'll leave that thought for later and begin training, which will be extremely
hard for me and extremely satisfying for Rimuru when she hears about it. Why?
Simple. She'll gain all my experience with these abilities without doing
anything. And I still need to test the skills I got from her.
This is going to be a hard week.
With that thought, I begin the training.
The training continued with brutality. Great Sage
took into account that any wound I receive regenerates instantly, and I can
survive almost anything, so she designed a regimen for every situation… every
situation…
If I didn't have a pain-nullifying ability, I'd have died just from the pain.
But I understand the need. I needed something to wake me up. I've become
stronger, but also passive. I didn't realize I could die instantly if someone
wanted—or if I hadn't received a name from Veldora or met Rimuru.
I had to wake up from my fantasy that this is a world where I can't be
stopped—that I'm the strongest.
What really brought me back to reality wasn't that Great Sage
beat me, but that she defeated me using onlyShadow
Movement…
Yes, a skill I thought was just for sneaking around became danger I couldn't
escape—no matter what I did.
She started by emerging from my own shadow. Then weapons began appearing—first
from my shadow, then from everything around me. The scariest part was when I
lit my entire body on fire to eliminate all shadows… the gravel beneath me had
shadows underground… the clothes I wear have light underneath… even without
clothes, your body blocks light from touching every part.
I'm just glad she didn't attack the most important area.
Then came the second part of training—showing me I'm not yet at the right power
level.
Veldora! He was very happy to beat me to the point I
couldn't speak anymore and never wanted to fight him again.
The most frustrating part is that he held back. He
didn't even use 1% of his power, and I believe him.
Now I realize how truly weak I am.
In the eyes of the weak, I'm incredibly strong—but in front of someone truly
powerful? I'm weak—not even worth a glance.
If Veldora hadn't been sealed at that time, he wouldn't have even looked at us
twice. We wouldn't have deserved it. Before being sealed, he didn't understand
the value of the lives we care about.
That's something we need to fix.
His sisters killed him repeatedly because of the disasters he caused, but they
never told him what he did wrong.
They decided his personality had to be reset and that it was better to kill
him—maybe he'd learn a lesson?
Tell that to anyone, and they won't understand—especially if you give no
explanation, just say they're guilty and kill them.
This family is complicated, and Rimuru and I are caught up in it because of Veldora.
Rimuru's POV:
The week I spent away from Samael helped me calm down. I know he's
understanding, but the fact that he figured out so easily that I like women too
was surprising.
For a moment, I thought he had looked through my memories in the library, but
thankfully he hadn't.
After that conversation, I had to distance myself and calm my emotions.
Miraculously, he gave the perfect solution: a trip to Dwargon where he wouldn't
visit me and would leave me alone.
Now that I've regained emotional control, I decided it's time to explain
everything I avoided last time—about my past and the events in Dwargon.
Maybe we can confirm the relationship we have?
I know it's a bond far greater than a simple journey, but I want it confirmed—I
want us to say we're husband and wife every time we introduce ourselves—or at
least engaged.
I still remember when he proposed. I know it wasn't the most special place, and
we didn't know each other very well, but the proposal was something that
couldn't be refused without a good reason.
He proposed with something that can't be taken back: his soul, potential,
eternity, and his entire existence.
How could I refuse? Who would refuse?
I was in slime form, and he proposed like that. I was at my lowest, and he
proposed—not to some great beauty—but to a slime.
I asked Great Sage why he'd do that, and she said that such a deep
bond is something many people wouldn't even offer their wives after years of
marriage.
I decided to accept his proposal and see where our future will lead.
Now that I've seen the prophecy I received from the elf, I'm sure I'll be
happy—and I won't be alone.**
Gazel Dwargo's POV:
I'm listening to the information Anrietta gathered about the slime who
brought us that potion and all it did in the capital.
(This will be a problem if we're not careful. It's good she wasn't very angry
about what happened, but we must be cautious. The sensation I get from her is
similar to the one Veldora emits—and that's not good in any way.)
"What do you propose we do about Vesta?"
"If I may speak, Your Majesty…"
I allowed her to continue.
"The best solution is to wait for now. We can't let him roam free or kill him
just yet, but we can keep him under surveillance. If needed, we can
send him as a representative or worker if we ever need a connection with the
slime in the future."
It's not a bad proposal—we can have someone on the inside while removing a
volatile element.
I don't want to kill him considering the years he served me, but I can't have
someone who will do anything to gain my favor.
"Proposal accepted! Vesta will be placed under supervision to ensure he does
not reveal national secrets!"
I waited for confirmation, then dismissed the council.
(Veldora, what have you brought into this world? What kind of monster did you
name? What will this creature bring—a slime with incredible power, stronger
than many demons and growing constantly?
I can't read its mind with my Unique Skill, and that terrifies me. I hope I
didn't make a mistake letting her go.
If I did, the whole nation will suffer because of me—maybe worse.)**
Veldora POV
It's been a week since I started helping Samael
with his training, and the results are quite intimidating.
I'm standing in the center of an arena, waiting for his next move. I can feel
the mana surrounding me, scanning every area and every shadow. I cover my body
with magicules to ensure he can't emerge from the shadows.
It begins. I look at the shadows cast around me and see creatures
emerging—wolves, terrifying to an average person—but to me, they're just
numerous and annoyingly inefficient to destroy one by one. So I wiped them out
with an extremely strong gust of wind. Relative to my power, it's nothing, but
it would equate to a 'Demon Lord Seed' level—something very impressive but
expected from someone I've called "brother."
I know that attack was just the beginning, a distraction, so I stay alert.
Immediately, I notice small blood particles coming at me—they're invisible
unless you're paying attention—but each one is lethal to an ordinary person.
The idea came from Great Sage: create blood particles, send them into
someone's body, then coagulate all their blood.
I know it won't affect me too badly, but it's painful even for beings of my
level—and that's what I don't get. I don't have a physical body, yet it still
hurts. It feels like having needles all over your body, and I can't endure it
for long. Still, it's a great strategy when fighting someone stronger—paralyze
them momentarily if you can't kill them outright by destroying their heart or
cutting off blood flow to the brain. I'm glad I don't have a physical body.
There are disadvantages too—like if a being doesn't have blood or maintains a
magicule barrier, the magicule consumption increases exponentially. But against
an army?
If you're lucky, you can kill everyone instantly—they won't even know what hit
them.
All I did was increase the concentration of magicules around my body—nothing
could touch me.
"You can do better than that! Come on, brother, I know you're not that weak! Or
do you think attacks at this level can hurt me?!"
I know I'm provoking him and it'll make the fight harder, but he needs to
learn.
The fact that Great Sage promised me two weeks off if I helped has
nothing to do with my decision… okay, maybe a little. But seriously, what did I
do to deserve this suffering? And what's with the women—every one of them is
terrifying.
First, there are my sisters constantly killing me, then Great Sage who
makes me work and train—thankfully, she doesn't kill or punish me badly, just
revokes my manga access.
And finally, Rimuru, who threatened me—if I ever try to access her memory
archive, I'll wish I was dead and stayed dead.
At least I've got Samael on my side… though I feel bad for him. He's married in
name only, and I don't think he even realizes it. From what I see, even his
ability is starting to develop an ego and might be falling in love with him.
I know he protects me from Rimuru and Great Sage, but if I told him
that, I'd probably just make things worse for both of us.
Now the real fight begins, and what can I say—how to describe him? There's only
one word that fits: Monster.
One week since he started training and he's already become a foe that shouldn't
be underestimated—and Rimuru will receive all this info for free.
The precision with which he acts is terrifying—hundreds of water droplets in
the air sending out light particles that cut through armor like paper.
A legendary-level arsenal attacking nonstop, hundreds of monsters and beasts
made of blood emerging from shadows—and all of it within a mist that, without
protection, will either kill you instantly or cause excruciating pain. Let's
not forget the poison saturating the area.
If this were a 'Demon Lord Seed,' they'd either be dead or running away. Even a
'Demon Lord' would be annoyed in this situation. Sure, the strongest probably
wouldn't react—but they'd at least be impressed by his potential.
The most impressive part? He's doing it all without using any of his 'Unique'
skills.
He controls them himself. Great Sage explained how these effects work,
and instead of asking for help, he implemented them on his own, saying:
"If I can't even do this, what right do I have to call you my partner?"
It was one of the few moments I saw her speechless. That's when I realized his
skill will develop an ego In no time.
The fight with Samael lasted another 30
minutes. I obviously won without a scratch—but Samael had progressed
unbelievably.
Now we're on the couch watching one of the anime Samael has seen before, and
surprisingly, Great Sage is with us reading a book.
"Samael, Rimuru should arrive in a day or two, you know that right?" I asked to
see how he'd react.
"It's been that long already?"
"Yes, master. Mistress Rimuru will arrive tomorrow at the latest."
Samael was quiet for a moment, then spoke.
"Do you think we should hold a banquet when she returns? Veldora, we'll bring
you food here. I know Rimuru hasn't visited you, but it's probably my fault—so
we'll both come when she arrives. What do you think?"
"I've got nothing against it. But are you sure? Don't forget she was still mad
at you when she left."
"I know, and I hope she's calmed down in the two weeks since we've properly
spoken. I'll apologize if she's still upset—but I want to hear about her
adventures."
We sat in silence after I noticed Great Sage giving me a look, warning
me not to say anything stupid.
After a while, Samael stood up.
"I'm going to start preparing for the banquet."
"Good luck and have fun!" He turned toward me, smiled, thanked me, then left.
I sat quietly with Great Sage for a while before she finally spoke.
"You should let them figure out their feelings on their own and not tell them
directly."
I looked at her and smiled. "They're not the only ones with feelings for each
other—and you know that!"
I decided to leave while I was still ahead.
(Rimuru and Samael really are cute together—they make a nice couple.)
