Chapter 31 - Aftermath of Fury

Aldric crashed into the ground, his deformed face already beginning to regenerate.

Suddenly, his eyes widened.

He coughed violently, blood spilling from his mouth.

The reason became clear.

Draven had landed directly on top of him.

The force of the impact had shattered Aldric's ribs and spine, crushing his organs beneath the weight of Draven's body.

Aldric looked up at him, blood still trickling from the corner of his mouth.

Draven's left leg remained planted firmly on his body, keeping him pinned to the ground.

Draven reached down with his right hand and grabbed Aldric's left hand.

His crimson eyes glowed as he stared down at him.

"Damn ronte, why don't you keep running that damn, fucked-up mouth of yours?"

He pulled.

**CRACK!**

Aldric's arm was ripped clean off.

Blood sprayed from the severed stump.

Aldric clenched his teeth, his face twisting with anger.

The vampire girl remained standing in the same spot, staring at the scene in disbelief.

*He's able to take down Aldric—a High Blood vampire—that easily?*

Draven's leg was still pressing Aldric into the ground.

He glanced at the severed hand in his grip.

"Ooh, I guess you could just grow a new one."

As if to prove his point, Aldric's severed arm quickly regenerated.

Flesh formed over the exposed bone, followed by muscle and skin.

Within moments, a brand-new hand had grown back.

"That was quick," Draven said.

He was still holding Aldric's torn-off hand.

Draven casually tossed it behind him.

Then—

a frightening smile slowly spread across his face.

His crimson eyes glowed intensely.

"Let's see if you can also regrow a new head."

Suddenly—

the blood scattered across the ground beneath Aldric began to move.

Blood spikes shot upward, racing toward Draven.

Draven reacted instantly.

He jumped backward, narrowly avoiding the spikes as they tore through the space where he had been standing.

He landed a short distance away and slowly straightened himself.

Aldric pushed himself up from the ground.

"Kid, you're really strong for a mixed-blood unable to use Mana," Aldric said."that was fun."

He looked at Draven seriously.

"I'll admit, I underestimated you at first."

Aldric wiped the blood from his mouth.

"I just wanted to see the Prince I'd heard about and maybe talk with him, but you kept ignoring me, even when I attacked you."

He gave a small sigh.

"So I thought insulting you might catch your attention."

He lowered his head.

"But I ended up getting beaten up instead."

Aldric bowed his head.

"So I'm sorry if I said anything that offended you attacking you was stupid of me but fun still."

Draven stared at Aldric without the slightest emotion on his face.

"What the hell are you yapping about?"

His voice suddenly turned cold.

"The moment you said crap about my mama, you were already a dead man."

Aldric felt a chill run down his spine.

"What I said sorry, so I—"

**BAM!**

His words were cut off by a blow that landed squarely on his face, smashing his head against the ground.

Draven's red eyes glowed as he continued punching.

The vampire girl, still stood in the same spot, holding Draven's bow. Outwardly, she showed no emotion, but inwardly, she was stunned.

*He's fast and strong. Is this really the ability of someone unable to use Mana?*

Aldric's blood splashed across Draven's face, but he didn't stop.

Punch after punch landed.

Soon, there was nothing left but a puddle of blood where Aldric's head was supposed to be inside the crater.

Draven slowly stood up.

His red eyes were still glowing, and blood stained his face.

Once he was fully standing, he looked toward Lyriana and began walking toward her, swinging his hand to wipe some of the blood away.

"Hey, I'm gonna be asking you some questions, and I suggest you answer properly if you don't want to end up like him," he said.

Lyriana stared hard.

She remained standing in the same spot, staring at Draven.

*Damn, what the hell kind of kid is he?*

*He gives me the feeling like he could kill me at any time.*

Draven stopped in front of her.

"First question: who the hell are both of you?" he asked.

"I'm Lyriana Virelia, and he's my brother, Aldric Virelia. We are both High Blood vampires," Lyriana replied.

Draven thought for a moment.

*He's a High Blood vampire? I guess they're not as strong as I thought.*

He turned his head toward Aldric.

Aldric was already standing again, his head completely regenerated.

*Or he's just too weak.*

Draven turned back toward Lyriana.

He stretched out his hand and took his bow from her.

"So, why were you guys looking for me?" he asked.

"We came—"

Lyriana was cut off.

"Never mind," Draven said, already turning away.

"I don't really care anyway."

He started walking away.

"I guess you're in my house right now because of the party, but as soon as it's over—"

Draven suddenly stopped.

He turned his head toward them.

His red eyes glowed.

"Make sure I don't even see both of you here again, unless you want to die."

He turned around and continued walking.

"Keep in mind finding where your heart is? It's not as hard as it seems."

He paused briefly before adding,

"And make sure to clean this up."

Draven walked away.

Lyriana and Aldric remained where they were, both staring in the direction Draven had gone.

Aldric's clothes were covered in bloodstains.

He walked closer to Lyriana and let out a chuckle.

"Damn brat. To think he would be so strong. He caught me off guard, though I didn't even trying."

"So did he," Lyriana said.

Aldric looked at her.

"You mean he held back?"

Lyriana nodded slightly.

Aldric scoffed.

"Even so, if he didn't hold back, it doesn't makes a damn difference. If I really wanted to, everything would've ended quickly."

He glanced in the direction Draven had disappeared.

"But attacking the King's son in the first place was already a mistake, so I just let him do as he pleased."

Lyriana frowned.

"Yeah, you don't think much before doing something stupid. If you want to die, don't drag me with you."

Aldric chuckled.

"Don't be like that. I wasn't going to harm him."

Lyriana looked toward the direction Draven had gone.

*Even if you had attacked him for real, you might've still not been able to harm him much.*

*If I'm not mistaken, his physical ability is as strong as, or even beyond, that of a High Blood.*
