"Is that..." Bailey muttered, unsure of the identity of the man standing by the door.
At first, she saw only the silhouette of the man. He was tall, broad-shouldered and eerily calm.
But as he stepped away from the shadow into the light, her heart plummeted.
"Kai…?" She whispered, her voice shaky as she recognised her cousin's secret lover. "Kai Treshvire!" Her voice increased a bit.
Kai closed the door behind him without a word, the sound of his name on Bailey's lips fuelling his demons.
Bailey immediately shot to her feet so fast her bowl clattered and spilt across the floor.
"You!" She pointed with trembling fingers, her heart thundering inside her chest. "Y...you're the one b...behind this? You're the one who kidnapped me?"
Kai tilted his head slightly, his cold gaze narrowed dangerously at her.
"Sit." He commanded.
Bailey shook her head rapidly, tears pulling at the corner of her eyes.
