"Since when did you become this heartless?" I asked.
My chest tightened as soon as I kicked the door to his room; the sound roared through the air.
There he was at the window, his back to the room, and from his angle it dawned on me, he had been watching the whole scene from his room all this while.
"I should be asking you that, brother." He clutched the arms of his wheelchair and turned to face me; his eyes were carved with fire.
"Since when did you start showing her the least bit of compassion when you're supposed to be at the training ground?" His gaze offered no excuse for what he'd done.
I felt the bones in my arms quicken as desire outweighed composure.
"Brother, I have always known you to take my side, never interfering in any of my decisions." He wheeled forward, eyes like daggers. "Since when did you start interfering?"
That sent the dagger straight into its place, my damn heart.
So he knows? He knows he always makes the decisions, right? Good.
