Landon Ford realized he might have misunderstood.
He stopped talking, or rather, he was interrupted.
Someone called.
He picked it up, sounding much colder than when he spoke to Thea Shaw: "Speak."
The person on the other end was chattering, sounding like they were urging Landon Ford to return to the company.
"I know." Landon Ford wasn't entirely unreasonable, "Notify all departments to prepare the materials. I'll start the meeting as soon as I get back. Count the delay time as triple overtime for them."
After saying a few more things, the call ended.
Thea Shaw cautiously suggested, "You seem busy. Why don't you drop me off and go to the company? I can take a cab back."
"It's not about you." Landon Ford nonchalantly held the steering wheel, "I said I'm meeting you at this time."
At that moment, Thea Shaw suddenly felt like a culprit.
How could she cause Landon Ford to miss work because of her?
