Although I said I wanted to get recognised... I wonder for what end?
Well, whatever.
Knowing there was a record in the past about our existence, it was already good enough.
I don't have to concern myself about it anymore.
There are five rulers now in this kingdom. So revenge in this case is a bit unreasonable.
"1000 years in the past... "
There was no reason to involve these people in the struggles that happened millennia ago.
Should I press into their mind that I was the king of this kingdom in the past?
I think that's a big no.
Should I give up being a king?
I wasn't even interested in it in the past. But I was the successor so it can't be helped.
Everyone supported me just like how they supported the former king, who was my father.
The problem just began to occur when I became a bit stubborn.
It was when I ordered everyone to turn against the dungeon. I asked them to be prepared to utterly devastate the place until it becomes its cause for its eradication.
However, no one obeys.
Dungeons are a source of materials and money. If we lose it, we will easily lose to invaders. That said, the message that was supposedly from god can only be a treacherous strategy from other kingdoms.
I continue to press on my beliefs and told them to obey no matter what.
I really relied on the king title too much.
Until it resulted in a horrible revolution.
Of why it was horrible... It was because I was labelled as demon-possessed. An individual who desires the destruction of humanity.
"Uhm... How did it go? Did you find what you were looking for, Mr. Yui?"
"Oh? Ahaha... Yes... "
I was not sure about that. The more information I acquired was the more I didn't understand what it was I wanted to do.
It was complicated.
Well, at least now, I was at ease.
I was looking for information so that I could overthrow the king. But now I found out that there were no records about Mihgilrahann. Even bad records about them. My sense of existence wavered. So instead of finding facts to be used for revenge, I temporarily switch to finding my past. I felt like if I had no records in the past, I was like I wasn't accepted, cared for, or seen by the people of my past. Thinking that was just... Sad. So I at least tried to dig up even just a point of proof. It explains my triumphant reaction to discovering that our traitor advisor was on the records. Even if I would've preferred not to see him. But if he was there, it means we are there. So yes. We are on the records! Even if I hadn't had the chance to see them in the books themselves. I know the people had seen us. That they couldn't get careless about us. At this rate, at last! Our existence... Can't be denied!
So this led me to thinking... What was my goal again?
It was to revenge! But after realising things...
For what end?
It was 1000 years ago. The people today have nothing to do with our struggles. In fact... I am the only one who is directly involved in that past.
Moreover, today's rulers aren't just one. There were five of them. I have nothing to do with them.
This was my kingdom; that's a fact!
But it won't matter unless they are being mistreated.
So yes. Mine is mine. And now I've acquired it.
Being a king doesn't need to be known.
So I've finally made a decision.
I discarded everything. (The plans for revenge and reclaiming the kingdom.)
Right now I shall return to my original plan from... Yeah... From 1000 years ago!
The countermeasures for the protection of the kingdom... against the threat of the dungeons!
I hereby comply to the divine order! The order for the eradication of the dungeons!
For that to happen... And for the past to not be made again... I must be a discreet ruler.
In this case, I shall call myself an another name.
The INTANGIBLE RULER!
Well, it was not like that name would be known. It was just for me not to lose enthusiasm.
"I'm happy for you."
Kiezy expressed her as if always ready to help feeling.
"Yeah. Really, thank you! You were a big help!"
"Don't mind it. Ahaha... "
"Magics, huh?"
I saw the book beside Kiezy's hand.
"You're interested in it?"
"Yeah. This will help us learn what height humanity's magic has reached now. If there is just some information for the kingdom's advanced magic... "
"Uhm... Sorry. I can't help you with your concerns. Just after you help me a lot... "
"No, no, I wasn't expecting anything from you."
"Ugh. That hurts... "
"Eh? It was not... What I... "
"I know. I was just kidding."
"..."
(Chuckles)
The two of us could just laugh at each other.
["Ah... Ahaha... " "Ahaha... "]
...
We then began returning the books to their appropriate places.
I have no plans to do for now, so...
"Do you have plans after this? To think I wasted your time for making you tag along with me... "
"Ah, no... It was because we had nothing to do so we came. Ahaha... You don't have to get worried about it. I usually don't have anything to do when I'm alone. It was thanks to you that I finally got to have some. I wonder about them though?"
Kiezy's eyes shifted towards Hara and Zetra.
'Uwaah... '
Zetra was really focused. That book really intrigued her, huh?
"Awwww... At the end, Ms. Rose didn't come here... What a let down... "
"Huh!? What the heck are you expecting? Wait, were you serious about that?"
Hara began complaining. Probably because Ms. Rose didn't come. What an idiot. Did she really believe in that?
"Well, a bit yes, a bit not. I really just tag along because I have nowhere to go. Better to be here than anywhere else."
"Uh... Come to think of it, I heard you don't get along with just anyone. So, I wonder if you're okay to be here with me."
"..."
'Seriously?' - I could just thought of that.
Hara was thinking about it rather considerably.
"Well, you don't seem unlikable, so... I think it's fine."
'Eh? Was that all?'
It was not really much for a look that serious. But, maybe she really just considers her surroundings so dearly. I was hoping to know what was different between me and the other people, but it's a shame. Maybe she just tags along because that Ms. Rose stops by me.
"Still... To think you would blend in to this place just fine. You really are excellent, Kiezy." - Hara commented.
"Ah... Ahahaha... No. It must be done."
"Heh. Right."
Hara got up then began piling up her books.
"If you're thinking of what to do, why don't we continue strolling through the castle? It appears Mr. Yui is new here. There's a lot for him to see."
Suggested Hara.
"Good idea! What do you think Mr. Yui?"
"I would be glad to!"
We then called Zetra who was totally absorbed in her book.
"Heh... "
To think she can be this formal. That book really got her settled down. I was afraid she wouldn't be at ease in the library, but... Even she can be serious huh?
"Uhm, Zetra, we're going."
Kiezy called.
"..."
No reaction.
"Uhm... Zetra?"
Kiezy leaned over to see what was up.
"Just this page."
Zetra noted.
"Ah... Okay."
We then wait. Hara was also still returning the books to their places so it's perfect.
Hara got back.
Kiezy began to look to see if Zetra was done already. That was quite a wait after all.
"Uhm... "
The moment Kiezy saw...
"Ugh... That ain't that page anymore is it?"
"Just this page big sis."
"O-okay... "
After some time...
"Eh!? Just here? None, none, no way!"
Zetra was uttering none, none, frantically as she was flipping the pages.
"Big sis...!"
She turned towards Kiezy with sparkling eyes.
"Just one more chapter!"
"Chapter!? No, you can't. Hara and Mr. Yui are waiting."
"Just a chapter!"
"..."
With her brows raised, Kiezy could just be quiet. She couldn't convince her.
"Zetra really... That is too childish... You look like those children who still believe that humans are corrosive."
"Wha...!?"
"Hara! Zetra! That's enough."
With a rather serious tone, Kiezy shut the two.
"Fine then. I will stay here. So, Hara, could you accompany Mr. Yui on a stroll in the castle?"
Kiezy asked.
Seriously why do they have to give me that much attention? I was just fine either way, you know?
"Uhm... "
I attempted to speak up, but...
"Kiezy, you do know that I just came along because you two are here, right? So why would you ask me to go with this man?"
"Huh? Oh, so would you rather stay here with Zetra? You see, I don't want to let Mr. Yui be alone after all this time we've been together. I'd feel bad leaving him."
Hearing what Kiezy said, Hara's eyes, as if in disdain, could just get shaded with darkness.
"Ugh... No... No, thanks."
She said.
