Shuo eyed it warily. Something about the place just screamed "shady side business." Was this really a restaurant, or was it a front for—well, something else?

Without waiting for his response, she took his hand and guided him away, straight to a cozy little art gallery.
The moment they stepped inside, the air changed—soft lighting, the faint scent of oil paint, walls lined with vibrant canvases. The world outside faded, replaced by the quiet hum of creativity.

"Sort of. It's a small gallery—just some paintings for sale," Shuo explained. He glanced at her, curiosity piqued. "Do you like art galleries, Yuzuru?"
A gentle smile curved her lips as she paused before a landscape painting. "Affirmative. This place feels so peaceful. I like it."
Shuo found himself smiling too. Yuzuru really was perfect wife material—her taste, her warmth, her quiet elegance. He stood beside her, content to let the silence settle between them as they admired the art.
When they finished their gallery tour, Yuzuru led him down a narrow alley. Shuo glanced around, eyeing the bizarre shops and their even stranger advertisements: "Boost Your Vitality!" "Restore Your Essence!" It was like every store was selling some kind of miracle tonic.
Yuzuru scanned the storefronts, then shook her head. "Revision. Changing plans again."
She promptly pulled Shuo away, this time heading for a large department store.
"Amazement. The variety here is impressive."
They wandered for a while until Yuzuru stopped at a jewelry display. Her gaze lingered on a particular necklace—a heart-shaped pendant formed by white wings, a pink pearl gleaming at its center. Longing flickered in her eyes.
"Request. Shuo, I want this."
Hearing her gentle, almost timid request, Shuo reached out and softly patted her head. Meeting her gaze, he smiled. "Of course. If Yuzuru wants it, I'll buy it for you."
"Gratitude. Thank you, Shuo. Yuzuru is very happy."
She hugged the necklace to her chest, eyes curving into crescent moons, radiating pure sweetness. Even as they browsed the rest of the store, she clung to the necklace, occasionally breaking into a goofy smile. Shuo watched her, helplessly amused.
Such a silly girl, he thought. But that was Yuzuru—gentle, genuine, and impossible not to love. He felt lucky, in a way he could never quite put into words.
They paid and left the store. Outside, Yuzuru pulled a small note from her pocket, scanning it with a frown. She hesitated, clearly torn, then suddenly grabbed Shuo's arm and dragged him into a nearby hotel.
A few minutes later, they both bolted out, faces flushed. Yuzuru's lips were pressed tight, her slender frame tense, long legs trembling ever so slightly. Her embarrassment was written all over her.
Shuo stifled a laugh, eyes twinkling with mischief. Neither of them had realized they'd wandered into a love hotel.
Yuzuru kept her head down, cheeks as red as the setting sun. "Apology. I'm truly sorry—I didn't expect that to happen."
Shuo smiled, reassuring. "Don't worry about it. I know you didn't mean to."
She peeked up at him, face still burning. Then, as if remembering something, Yuzuru handed him the heart-shaped necklace.
"Request. Shuo, would you help me put it on?"
"Of course. Leave it to me."
He took the necklace, gently lifted her hair, and fastened it around her neck. Yuzuru touched the pendant, her eyes soft and full of promise.
"Promise. I'll treasure this always."
Then, like a dragonfly skimming water, she leaned in and pressed her lips to his—a feather-light kiss, gone in an instant.
Shuo touched his lips, a smile spreading across his face. He reached for her hand, and together they walked home beneath the evening sky, the world aglow with sunset.
Back in the department store, Mayuri appeared at the jewelry display. She picked up the same necklace, held it against her chest, and for a moment, her earrings shimmered—a deep, earthy brown.
