"DXD: Multiverse Journey"Chapter 231: Sharing a Bed, Sunscreen Duty

Night had settled over the villa, wrapping everything in a hush. Shuo lay sprawled across his bed, stomach satisfied, mind drifting, ready to savor a rare moment of peace.

The click of his door shattered the quiet.

He glanced up. Kaguya and Yuzuru slipped inside, both draped in crisp white bathrobes. Before he could even sit up, Kaguya's cheeks flushed and she dove straight into his bed, burrowing beneath the covers.

Shuo caught her halfway, a helpless smile tugging at his lips.

"It's barely dark out and you two are already staging a night raid? Don't tell me you're planning to sleep here."

Kaguya huffed, chin lifted.

"Obviously! My loyal retainer Tohka told me you love sharing a bed with girls. Isn't that right?"

Loyal retainer? Shuo almost choked. Tohka was just too innocent—so easy for Kaguya to twist her words.

And if he had to guess, Yuzuru had probably apprenticed herself to Origami, just like in the original story.

When Shuo didn't bother to deny it, Kaguya let out a smug, victorious "hm-hm-hm," flashing Yuzuru a look of triumph.

But before she could worm her way further under the covers, Yuzuru beat her to it.

"Mockery: Kaguya's technique isn't seductive at all. Watch what Origami-sensei taught Yuzuru."

Yuzuru wrapped her arms around Shuo's head, pressing their foreheads together in a gesture so intimate it left Kaguya dumbstruck.

"Ah! Yuzuru! What do you think you're doing?!"

Kaguya shrieked, yanking Yuzuru away. Yuzuru just blinked, mildly annoyed.

"Confusion: Why did Kaguya interfere?"

"You—are you even aware of what you're doing?!"

"Understanding: Origami-sensei taught Yuzuru this. Little kids like you wouldn't get it. Honestly, I pity your lack of experience."

"Don't you dare look down on me!"

Just as the two squared up for round two, the bedroom door flew open with a bang.

"What the hell are you doing?!"

Two voices—sharp, suspicious—rang out from the doorway. Shuo twisted around to see Tohka and Origami glaring, eyes narrowed, arms crossed.

He coughed, scrambling for composure.

"It's not what it looks like, really—"

He tried to stand, but Yuzuru's leg caught his ankle, sending him tumbling face-first onto the sheets. The embarrassment burned hot as he looked up at Tohka and Origami, mouth twitching.

"If I said this was an accident… would you believe me?"

"…"

"…"

Yeah, right. Like anyone would buy that.

The next morning, sunlight spilled over the beach. Shuo lounged beneath a sun umbrella, sipping something cold, stretched out on a chair with the kind of satisfaction only a good night's sleep—and surviving a five-person pile-up in bed—could bring.

At least Tohka and Origami hadn't made a scene. He couldn't help but chuckle at the memory.

It had been ages since his last taste of "forbidden fruit." Last night could've been perfect, but with Kaguya and Yuzuru around, he'd held off. Plenty of time ahead—no need to rush.

"Shuo! So this is where you were hiding!"

"Discovery: Yuzuru has located Shuo."

He turned to see the twins waving, bright-eyed and beach-ready.

"Hey, Kaguya, Yuzuru—you two look amazing. Those swimsuits suit you perfectly!"

He meant it. Kaguya's bikini was black with white lace, Yuzuru's the reverse—white with black trim. The contrast suited their personalities.

Kaguya's cheeks colored as she crossed her arms, chin up.

"Hmph—of course!"

Yuzuru, ever calm, nodded.

"Gratitude: Thank you for the compliment. Yuzuru is pleased."

Kaguya struck a pose, launching into full chuuni mode.

"Human! I have spent eons in the embrace of night. The sunlight is unbearable. I permit you to cast the sacred barrier of miasma to shield me from the blinding rays."

Shuo's mouth twitched.

"You mean…?"

Yuzuru stepped in, all business.

"Request: Please apply the substance known as sunscreen to Yuzuru."

She handed over the bottle. Shuo accepted with a grin—who was he to refuse?

"This arduous task—I'll handle it myself!"

The twins exchanged glances, then sprawled out face-down on the mat, backs bared and waiting.

Shuo squeezed a dollop of white lotion into his palm, warming it between his hands.

"Heh, Shuo, I trust you know what to do. You'll help me first, right?"

Kaguya's voice was teasing, eyes gleaming.

Yuzuru countered, deadpan.

"Rebuttal: Shuo should help Yuzuru first."

Shuo laughed.

"Actually, I'm not handicapped. I can handle both at once."

Kaguya and Yuzuru eyed each other, silent calculations passing between them. Then, with a sudden burst, Kaguya threw herself atop Yuzuru, pinning her down with arms and legs.

She smirked, victorious, while Yuzuru glared up, clearly unimpressed.

Shuo shook his head at their antics, then got to work. His hands glided over their backs, sunscreen spreading in smooth, gentle strokes. The twins' bickering faded into contented sighs.

When he finished, Kaguya and Yuzuru turned their heads in unison, eyes locking on him.

"Didn't expect it to feel this good," Kaguya murmured, voice soft.

Yuzuru shivered.

"Trembling: Shuo's technique is divine. He's a beach god."

The two collapsed on the sand, utterly relaxed, like stranded mermaids basking in the sun.

Shuo scratched his nose, fighting a smirk.

He swore, all he'd done was apply sunscreen—nothing more, nothing less. But with a little magic in his hands, the result was… impressive. Was this what they called the touch of a god?

He eyed his own hands with mischievous pride.

Just then, a furious voice rang out behind him.

"You pervert! What the hell are you doing?!"
