Marie was once again submerged in immense fear. Her eyes widened with trembling pupils. Her legs felt weak and unmovable.
The mysterious figure in the deep black cloak turned around, blood-red eyes with vertical white pupils staring directly into hers. Its face was covered by a white mask with sharp teeth and protruding fangs.
Marie could only stay silent as the figure walked casually towards her. Running was useless; seeing how it had easily slaughtered the demon dogs, killing her would be even easier. Her heart pounded with every step it took.
Finally, it stopped right in front of her, examining her carefully with its red eyes, like one would look at a painting.
It was silent for a moment before asking. "Are you Marie?" full of curiosity.
Marie was shocked that the demon knew her name, questioning her as if it had been looking for her. Marie froze, staring at the demon in fear.
"Don't be afraid, I mean you no harm," it said in a friendly tone, which instead made it sound mocking. "Listen to me.."
Suddenly, the front wall of the church exploded as if hit by something from the outside. Bricks flew in all directions; one hurtled towards her but the demon quickly shielded her, which surprised her.
The giant humanoid silhouette emerged from the dust cloud, the massive figure, 5 meters tall, with goat legs and four large horns on its head. The Satyr.
The fact that it had made it here meant... Ades was dead.
Marie was now in an impossible situation to escape, trapped with two high-ranking demons. There was no hope in this situation; it felt as if the goddess had abandoned her.
The Satyr took a step, and the earth seemed to tremble under its feet. Each step felt like an earthquake, approaching while looking around. It observed the remnants of the one-sided slaughter carried out by the mysterious black-cloaked demon.
Their gazes met, mutually intimidating each other.
"I came straight here when I sensed a great power emerging here. Did it come from you?" asked the Satyr apathetically.
The Satyr continued. "Are you the reinforcement sent by 'them'?"
The black-cloaked demon only chuckled, making the Satyr wonder.
"It seems the world has forgotten me, huh? Do you truly not know who I am?" it spoke arrogantly.
The Satyr frowned. "What do you mean?" Suddenly the air felt more oppressive.
The black-cloaked demon turned around, ignoring the Satyr who seemed to be growing furious.
"Hey, kid. Is he the one who hurt you?" it said confidently.
Marie was confused by what was happening. But Marie unconsciously nodded her head out of fear.
The Satyr looked annoyed by the black-cloaked demon's indifferent treatment. Flames blazed in its hands, and fire snorted from its nostrils.
"DON'T IGNORE ME!!!!"
A fiery punch was launched towards it. A blow carrying tons of force came its way, making the air itself part from its path.
The black-cloaked demon casually raised its hand. A heat explosion occurred, instantly pushing the surrounding dust away. It nonchalantly caught the Satyr's punch with one hand, cracks radiating across the floor in all directions.
The Satyr was shocked to find someone capable of withstanding its punch. It tried to pull its hand back, but it was stuck. Those vertical pupils stared at it with a chilling, cold gaze. Like a predator staring at prey.
"Hey, there's a child here," it said annoyed.
The blood splattered on the floor suddenly flowed to a single point. It abruptly rose up, severing the giant's arm from its socket like butter. A giant red blade emerged from the pool of blood on the floor.
Instantly, the Satyr took a step back, holding the stump of its arm while gnashing its teeth. It stared forward with deep, profound hatred.
The giant red blade melted back into liquid. The black-cloaked demon tossed the severed giant arm aside like trash.
"WHO ARE YOU, YOU BASTARD!!!!!" the Satyr asked furiously.
"I'm your butcher, you damned goat."
The deep black-cloaked demon approached one of the hunter dog corpses on the floor. Then the corpse twitched, shrank, and formed into a spear made from the flesh and bone of that dog.
It grabbed it and hurled it forward, flying towards the furious Satyr. The spear struck right in its chest. The impact of the attack was so strong it made the Satyr slide back slightly.
Another identical spear pierced its body once more, again and again. The front of its body was now filled with spears embedded deep in its flesh. The Satyr felt insulted and enraged, being pushed back by a mysterious figure that looked down on it, it felt humiliated. It clenched its teeth as hard as it could, thick veins popping out all over its body.
Suddenly, a fierce fire burned across its entire body, enveloping it like a hot red cloak. It roared in anger, a great explosion occurred, throwing all the spears from its body.
"Wow, smells like roasted goat," it said in a non-serious tone.
The Satyr only responded with an angry roar. Then it charged forward, creating what felt like a running earthquake heading towards the black-cloaked demon. The Satyr was like a meteor wanting to crash into the black-cloaked demon, who only smiled amusedly.
It pulled its arm back, a deep red aura enveloping its entire body. Quickly, its fist collided with the Satyr's head, creating a massive explosion, as if a sun was shining in the dark night.
Marie couldn't believe her eyes.
