I couldn't even scream as I fell and fell, until eventually I landed on something soft and everything went black; it was dark for a few moments, and I initially thought I might be back in that void until I opened my eyes, causing me to realize I was actually alive again.
Laying down in a bed and staring up at an unknown ceiling, I just remained still and existed for a few moments, feeling the pounding of my heart and the rush of adrenaline as I wondered if I had dreamt something terrible and just woke up.
When a translucent blue panel popped into existence between me and that ceiling though I knew I hadn't, and soon the blue shifted into a gorgeous artwork that I had memorized down to every single brushstroke it took to create such a masterpiece.
The title art for 'Mythical Academy: The Newcomer's Story' was staring back down at me, but where it usually asked if I wanted to start a new game, continue a save, view the gallery, tweak the settings or exit to my desktop I was instead given a single option.
'View Status'
With nothing else there I just clicked it out of habit... using my mind, I suppose, not really thinking of what I was doing and just going with the flow since clearly this was happening with no change to anything at all.
I was dead and apparently I was going to be playing my favorite game as the main character to entertain this beautiful and powerful Goddess who had a tongue longer than my arm... that sounded about right, and honestly... fuck it, why not.

When the status page opened my enthusiasm was swiftly curbed as I realized just what kind of play through I was going to be doing, and that was just... oh it made my heart ache a little, though there was a tiny spark of competitiveness that intrigued me.

Starting completely from scratch with nothing at all for my stats, and then looking further down I saw another fun thing; the skills tab was missing, meaning I either didn't have access to it yet or it just wasn't going to exist for me.
That - for lack of a better term - fucking blew donkey dick, but with no way to know if it was completely gone or just temporarily on vacation I was instead looking at the other tab that was there.

At least that was still there, though it made me wonder what could go in it and if I had a capacity now that this was a real world, but that was for future me to discover since present me had more pressing concerns.
Namely the fact that I had no damn clue where I was, and that was a big problem since I had places I needed to get to before the 'tutorial days' ended, so I sat up... and immediately encountered my first problem.
