The creak echoed again, louder this time. Emily's eyes were fixed on the door. "What was that?" Lily whispered. Lucas shrugged, but his eyes were scanning the room. Emily slowly got up and walked to the door. She peeked outside, but there was nothing. "Let's check the rest of the house," she said quietly.
