Strange closed the scroll, and with a gentle wave of his finger in the air, a transparent magical screen appeared before the two of them. It was densely covered with designs of runes and magic circles. He pointed to a part of it: "According to this theory, I can create a space of time acceleration for you. In that place, one day can be equivalent to one year in the outside world."
"That sounds good." Dominic nodded, his eyes filled with certainty.
"Don't be too happy yet." Strange's tone was serious. "This magic circle consumes an enormous amount of energy, not just my personal magic power, but it might also require the assistance of the Time Stone. And more importantly—" He turned to face Dominic directly, his tone cold. "This process will place an immense burden on your body and mind. Even if you are getting stronger every day, you may not be able to withstand the side effects of time acceleration."
"I never fear any challenge." Dominic said calmly, crossing his arms. "As long as it can make me stronger, none of this is a problem."
Strange sighed softly, his finger tracing across the screen again. "You know, this reminds me of someone. His obsession was very similar to yours—pursuing power, but almost losing himself."
"Different people walk different paths." Dominic smiled slightly. "I know where my goal is, and I should know how to get there."
"Then suit yourself." Strange stopped persuading him. He pointed his finger towards the center of the screen, and a complex magic circle immediately appeared in the air, runes floating like stars, emitting a deep blue glow.
"Come with me." Strange turned and walked towards the other side of the library. "We need a safe enough place to try this experiment."
Dominic didn't ask further and stepped to follow. The two walked through the passage between the bookshelves towards a stone door emitting an ancient aura. Strange stopped, raised his hand, and cast a spell. The stone door slowly opened, revealing a wide and empty space, with the walls around it carved with ancient magical symbols.
"This is the training space of the library, which can isolate all energy fluctuations from the outside world." Strange walked into the stone chamber and looked around. "Every second you spend here will not have any impact on the outside world."
Dominic walked in, his gaze sweeping over the runes. "So, this is your plan?"
Strange nodded and began to draw a magic circle on the ground. "I will use the power of the Time Stone to create an accelerated flow of time within this space. Your body will withstand the pressure of accelerated time, but only one day will pass in the outside world."
"Very good." A hint of relief flashed in Dominic's eyes. He clenched his fists. "I can't wait."
Strange looked up, gazing at his determined face, his brows furrowed slightly. "Dominic, I must warn you, this process is not just a physical challenge. Long periods of solitude and the hyper-accelerated flow of time might affect your mind."
"I know." Dominic's voice was low and firm. "But I have no choice."
Strange said nothing more. He lowered his head and focused on drawing the magic circle. Blue-green runes flickered in the air, and complex patterns gradually connected and took shape. The power of the Time Stone was guided to the center of the formation, and a dazzling light illuminated the entire space.
"Are you ready?" Strange stood up, watching Dominic.
"I'm always ready." Dominic's tone was without the slightest hesitation. He walked to the center of the magic circle, stood straight, his gaze like a torch.
Strange gave him one last look and whispered the incantation. The magic circle suddenly emitted a strong light, and the power of the Time Stone rapidly spread, engulfing Dominic's figure.
In the light, Strange's gaze was complex. He murmured to himself, "I hope your obsession doesn't become your shackles."
As the last syllable of the incantation fell, the runes of the magic circle suddenly emitted dazzling blue-green light, intertwining like countless light bands, enveloping Dominic. The aura of time permeated the air, and the entire space began to tremble slightly.
Dominic stood at the center of the light, feeling the distortion of time flow. He closed his eyes, sensing the immense energy surging into his body. His fists clenched slightly, his heartbeat steady like drumbeats. He knew that from this moment on, he would face a lonely struggle against time, but he was not afraid.
Strange watched him, a hint of worry in his eyes, but he said nothing more. He turned, walked to the edge of the magic circle, and with a gentle wave of his finger, activated a monitoring spell for observation. A virtual timeline unfolded before him, and he could clearly see that the flow of time within this space had been fully accelerated. One second outside was equivalent to one hour here.
Dominic's figure was faintly visible in the light. Strange murmured to himself, "May you withstand the trial of time."
Inside the time-accelerated space
The acceleration of the flow of time made the entire space exceptionally quiet, as if all sounds were swallowed. Dominic took a deep breath and began his physical limit training. He started with simple physical exercises, putting his full effort into every movement. His body was like steel being forged in a raging fire; every punch, every jump, carried the momentum of breaking through the air.
Halfway through the training, his muscles began to ache, and sweat dripped from his forehead, but he didn't stop. He knew that this pain was a necessary path for accumulating strength. He adjusted his breathing and continued to increase the training intensity, breaking through his limits every minute and every second.
In his consciousness, time felt incredibly long, but whenever he felt tired, he would remind himself: only an instant has passed in the outside world. This belief allowed him to persevere, and his body gradually changed under the tempering of time. His movements became more precise, his strength grew more powerful, and the entire training process was like a battle, with his opponent being time itself.
Strange stood at the edge of the magic circle, watching Dominic's figure in the light, his gaze filled with complex emotions. He knew that this kind of training was almost unimaginable for ordinary people, but Dominic seemed born for it. His willpower and determination shocked Strange and also made him feel faintly uneasy.
"I hope you return from this trial, rather than being consumed by it." Strange murmured.
Time passed bit by bit, and the light of the magic circle remained stable. Strange looked at the Time Stone, ensuring its energy output was normal, and then turned his gaze back towards Dominic. The person before him was not only fighting against time, but also against his own inner limits.
Within the accelerated time space, Dominic's consciousness gradually sank into a deep state. His thoughts became clear, and every movement was like the result of precise calculation. He seemed to have entered a transcendent realm, where his body and mind achieved unprecedented coordination.
"Getting stronger every day." He murmured to himself, his voice echoing in the space. A determined light flickered in his eyes, an obsession with victory, an unshakeable belief.
Time continued to flow, and his training intensity gradually increased. Every time he reached the limit of exhaustion, he would force himself to break through his physical constraints. His movements became more swift and fierce, and his strength became increasingly astonishing. The aura within the entire space gradually changed with his training, and the oppressive feeling belonging to a strong person began to emerge.
