Chapter 159 - Total Annihilation! Nick Fury’s Death!

Following the direction of the voice behind him, Nick Fury slowly turned around.

Within his field of vision, he noticed that at some unknown time, a rocking chair had been placed beside Dr. Banner.

A young man was lying leisurely on the chair, humming an urban tune. As the chair rocked, it continuously let out creaking sounds.

In Bai Ye's hand, a vial of crimson Pym Particles rested between his fingers. He turned it toward the overhead lamp, admiring the glow.

"You… when did you get here?" Nick Fury's voice was hoarse. He forced his trembling body to stay still, suppressing his instinctive fear.

"When did I get here?" Bai Ye lifted his eyes slightly toward Fury. "If you want a precise time… it should be about twenty-three minutes ago. I've been waiting here a long time for you to come back, so I could wipe you all out at once."

"Tomorrow is my coronation, after all. I plan to invite a few friends over to take a stroll."

Tossing the Pym Particles lightly in his hand, Bai Ye continued, his tone unreadable: "Last time I invited them to come over, there was an 'accident.' It was really embarrassing. The same mistake shouldn't happen twice, right?"

"You think I'm some third-rate villain from a third-rate movie—someone who knows there's a problem and still waits until you're knocking down the tower before taking action?" Bai Ye slowly rose from the rocking chair. "That would be far too lacking in class."

"So, for the sake of a smooth coronation, this emperor has no choice but to personally come and block you rebels at the fountainhead."

Even as he spoke, Bai Ye was complaining inwardly. He's clearly the emperor—why are his subordinates so useless that he has to handle everything himself?

Looking at the expressionless, forcibly calm Nick Fury in front of him, Bai Ye said, "Stop struggling. Inside the base, Coulson is already dead—lying right next to the destroyed Sentinel robot I blew up."

"I really didn't expect you people to actually mix yourselves up with Hydra. That's truly disappointing." Bai Ye shook his head as he shifted his gaze to Banner, whose heartbeat was accelerating rapidly.

"And you? Why did you get involved with him? Originally, I planned to have Stark recruit you. What a pity, what a pity… Looks like old man Ross's daughter can only be enjoyed by me."

"You… what did you say?" Banner's eyes widened. "You said you were planning to recruit me?"

"Oh? So you didn't know? Your Black boss never told you that?" Bai Ye shot Fury a mocking look—indeed, the man was rotten to the core.

Seeing Banner's face full of regret, Bai Ye chuckled. "No need to regret. Either way, you aren't going to survive."

"ROAR!"

With his final hope crushed and death closing in, Banner instantly transformed into a six-meter-tall green giant, roaring as he lunged at Bai Ye.

Hulk's desperate charge compressed the air into layers. His massive palm—several times larger than a fan—swung toward Bai Ye's head.

But Bai Ye casually caught it with one hand.

A terrifying force erupted in an instant. The towering Hulk, taller than a house, was yanked down like a rag doll and slammed repeatedly into the ground.

"BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!"

The earth rose and fell like violent waves. Each impact carved a ten-meter-wide crater into the military base.

By the time Bai Ye released his grip, Hulk had already been beaten back into Banner, his body drenched in blood, green fluid splattered everywhere—leftovers from Hulk's shattered form.

Without Pym Particle enhancement, even with Hulk's "the angrier, the stronger" trait, the growth was still far too slow. He was pulverized before he could build momentum.

The commotion triggered alarms throughout the base, shrill sirens echoing in every direction.

With a light snap of his fingers, Bai Ye obliterated Banner entirely, leaving only a human-shaped bloodstain on the ground. Then he looked at Fury."And you? Any last words?"

Nick Fury slowly shook his head, maintaining a façade of toughness.

"You must've already sent a signal to that Captain Marvel of yours, right? Too bad—she doesn't have time to care about your planet right now." Bai Ye shrugged. Whether she came or not meant nothing to him.

If Captain Marvel looked good, she would count as someone delivering herself to his doorstep. Unfortunately, she wasn't to his taste—so it would just be another person seeking death.

Seeing Fury's face drastically change, Bai Ye smiled lightly. Without another word, he lifted his right foot, gathered his strength, and stomped downward at several dozen times the speed of sound.

A shockwave burst visibly from his foot, and with compounding force, a massive explosion swept forward, engulfing hundreds of meters.

Nick Fury was the first to be caught. Under the crushing pressure, not even flesh remained—his body was reduced instantly to its most basic particles.

The hellish shockwave continued to surge outward. In this moment, Bai Ye's seemingly casual stomp produced the effect of a nuclear detonation.

Everything in its path evaporated, annihilated as destruction spread outward.

Inside the base, the soldiers who had only just reacted to Bai Ye's brutal beating of Hulk didn't even have time to scream before the shockwave blasted them into dust.

Though the base had been built inside a mountain to hide from Bai Ye, it was no different from an over-pressurized can. Under the tremendous expanding force, the rock layers above were blasted skyward.

The entire mountain shuddered violently, and with its internal structure shattered, it collapsed inward. Earth rushed downward, burying the entire base in an instant.

Within moments, the entire base was completely entombed under the mountain's collapse—utterly destroyed.

Outside the mountain, Bai Ye turned to the stunned Reed."Hey. You can snap out of it now."

"Ah? Oh!" Reed jolted.

His mind was still stuck in the memory of the base being torn apart, and stepping out of that apocalyptic scene so suddenly left him momentarily dazed.

"You're Dr. Reed, right?" Bai Ye looked at him, a strange glint in his eyes.

He had explored the entire base beforehand to ensure nothing went wrong, destroying all of its weaponry.

Unexpectedly, he had found Reed being held prisoner. No wonder the Sentinel Program had progressed so quickly.

"Yes, that's me… And you are?" Reed asked hesitantly.

"My name is Bai Ye. I'm Susan's boyfriend."

"Susan's… boyfriend?" Reed's expression froze.

He remembered that before he was invited by S.H.I.E.L.D., Susan had still been Victor's fiancée. How did she get a new boyfriend so quickly…?

And that name—Bai Ye! Reed's pupils constricted.

Recalling what Coulson had said before his death, he instantly recognized the man before him.

The demon king who ruled the outside world…The inventor of Inner Force…
