Chapter 38 - Chapter 38: The Scorched Flower.

Dai'chi dashes towards the skeleton. "Time to show you the power of someone who has actual power," Dai'chi says. The skeleton puts up multiple barriers to block Dai'chi. Dai'chi swiftly cuts through the barriers. Dai'chi swings his sword downwards. The skeleton swings his hand at Dai'chi, blocking the attack. The skeleton quickly uses gravity magic to launch Dai'chi downward. Dai'chi lands on the ground but is easily able to stand back up.

"Gravity magic, smart move. It got me away from you, but all it does is slightly delay the inevitable," Dai'chi says. He points at the skeleton, "Owhokire," He says. The air ignites in the direction he's pointing. The skeleton gets hit by the fire, but it has no effect. "Maybe fire magic wasn't the smartest spell to use. Burp," He says next. The rocks on the ground harden around his hand. He jumps up and punches the skeleton. The attack does significant damage to the skeleton. The skeleton goes to attack, but it's already over. Dai'chi swings his katana with one hand and slices the skeleton in half, ending the battle. The skeleton's corpse falls on the ground. Dai'chi reaches inside and pulls out a red orb.

"This is a pretty rare magic crystal. I didn't expect to get something of this level here. I bet Cerberus would have had a better one. It's a shame I had to destroy every part of him," Dai'chi says. "Now time to find that flower." He starts walking towards the castle.

At the base of the wall, Dai'chi finds a boulder above two flowers. One of the flowers is black, with the outline of it being orange. The other flower is orange, with the inside fading to red. "Which one could it be?" Dai'chi says. "I could grab both of them, but I'm pretty sure he said it was orange and faded to red. There is no reason for me to grab both of them if I know which one it is, is there?" Dai'chi says. He only grabs the red and orange ones, about to realize that he should have grabbed both. Dai'chi teleports back to the base. After he leaves, an unknown large man grabs the flower and walks away.

Dai'chi heads over to Jesse and shows him the flower. Jesse sighs, "Sometimes I question who the bigger idiot is, Krytheos or you. I told you to get a black flower and an orange flower, not a red and orange flower," Jesse says, slightly annoyed.

"OHHhh," Dai'chi says. " I guess I remembered wrong. I saw that one too so I'll be right back," Dai'chi says. He teleports to the spot he was just at, and immediately realizes what his mistake cost him. "Well, damn it," he says. He searches around the boulder for the flower. He sighs

"Where could that flower have gone? Did it somehow get blown away in the wind? How does a flower just disappear?" Dai'chi pushes the boulder away. "So it's just not there, great. Now I have to find another one." He begins his search.

He starts off by walking around the castle wall. As he walks around, he doesn't see any more flowers growing. He jumps over the wall and looks towards the castle. He jumps off the wall and goes back to searching. As he walks around the castle garden, he sees a lot of flowers, but not a single one that is what he is looking for. He walks into the castle as a last-ditch effort. Hoping the unlikely would happen. As he walks down the corridors of the castle, he doesn't spot a single plant. He searches through the whole castle, even attempting to find the hidden passages. He manages to find a few passages, but as he walks down them, he continues to find nothing.

He does one final sweep of the castle before giving up. He walks out of the castle and searches through the garden again. He finds a flower that looks similar to what he is looking for, but sadly, the flower has blue instead of orange. He jumps over the wall and walks back to the boulder. He stares at the boulder, upset. "How difficult is it to find one flower? How did this one here just disappear? I could always continue to search the garden, but that will take way too much time," Dai'chi says to himself. Jesse teleports to Dai'chi.

Dai'chi turns and looks at Jesse. "Did you forget where the flower was? It's been over an hour since you said you would be 'right back'. Is it really that hard to find something you just saw?" Jesse says.

Dai'chi sighs. "I don't know where it went. It was right next to the boulder, with the first flower I brought right next to it. I've searched all around in the castle's garden, and I haven't been able to find a second one," Dai'chi says. Jesse looks at Dai'chi, confused by the disappearance of the flowers.

"It shouldn't be that difficult to find them," he says, rubbing his chin. "Last time I was here, there were plenty of them." Jesse walks back and forth, wondering where the flowers could have gone. "It would have made such a good anniversary present for Lilith," Jesse says.

Dai'chi gets enraged at Jesse's statement. "ARE YOU SAYING I WASTED ALL THIS TIME TO HELP YOU, JUST FOR AN ANNIVERSARY PRESENT, THE ONLY THING I HAVE GAINED IS A SINGLE MAGIC STONE, AND THAT DOES NOT MAKE IT WORTH THIS EFFORT," Dai'chi yells. Jesse laughs a bit.

"I'm joking, our anniversary isn't for another few months or so. It probably won't be celebrated for another 10 years or so anyway," Jesse says. "I actually will need it for something in a year, so I'm just preparing early for it." He finishes, but then freezes. But steps come closer to them from behind Dai'chi. Dai'chi notices Jesse's reaction and puts his hand on his katana. A large presence behind him. "What are you doing here? You shouldn't know where this place is," Jesse says
