Scared, she frantically looked at him. This time, it was genuine fear. How did he come inside, and for how long was he here? She wondered.
"This...this is a women's restroom!" She accused. Unfortunately, her voice came out as if she were afraid. Well, she was afraid as she was alone with a werewolf!
"I know mate!" Kael said smilingly as relief washed over his face. He walked closer towards her.
"I wondered what you were doing here for so long! I got scared! I thought you got hurt or got yourself in danger! " he said.
He stood in front of her staring at her beautiful eyes, getting lost in them. "You have beautiful eyes, you know! " he said as he brought his hand near her face and brushed a strand of hair behind her ear. She could clearly see the emotion of lust in his eyes, and damn her if she didn't get more afraid of him. Who could get aroused in a restroom! She thought. "Umm... Thank you," she said awkwardly.
Accept his affections. She recalled her friend's advice.
"What were you doing here for so long, anyway? Were you trying to look pretty for me? Coz that's what it seemed to be as you were looking at your reflection so closely! " he said sarcastically, which, for her horror, she took seriously.
"No! I was.....I just....I was washing my hands...and....face....and..." she continued rambling when she heard him chuckle and stopped abruptly. It was so nice to hear that sound.....
What??? Her consciousness threw at her.
"Calm down, darling! I was just kidding! Seems like you don't joke around much," he almost stated, seeing her flustered state.
She was dumbfounded at this. What could she possibly say? That he was wrong. And that she loved cracking jokes and was almost a master in sarcasm.
Definitely not! At least not to this particular person. She refused to share about herself with him.
So, to save herself from further embarrassment and questions, she closed her mouth and lowered her head in submission. Yes, submission. She didn't have any more strength to answer his circular questions.
And, seeing her submission triggered his emotions. He stepped closer to her, entering her personal space. It was almost involuntary. He just wanted to be close to her and .....kiss her again.
Feeling him step closer to her, she tried to maintain distance. She didn't want to be kissed by him, again. As she took two steps back, she felt the wall touch her back.
Perfect! She cursed her fate.
Kael brought his right hand to the back of her head while his left hand rested on her waist. His eyes roamed all over her face. He noticed how she was looking here and there nervously. Her mouth partly opened and closed in hesitation. It was clear that she was scared or nervous....whatever it was. While he was waiting for her outside the restroom, he pondered how he would court his mate. Having a human mate is a blessing but it was a challenge too. And he was aware of that. During his education, he was taught about human mates. He had also heard how difficult human mates were. They usually don't respond well to their werewolf mates as they don't actually feel the mate bond as much as the werewolf does. Humans even try to escape as they get scared easily. So, to get their affection it was necessary to court them. Especially, the females. Human females are quite gentle physically and very emotional. And, to get their love was to impregnate them as soon as possible! Well, Kael didn't have any problem with that. There was a much longer list of 'how to court human mates' that he was going to put into action.
The only problem was that what he was taught in college about human mates was according to werewolf thinkers, and not humans. If those ideas of courting were put in front of a normal human, they would well...choke on something.
Briana tried to move her head to her right, but, his grip behind her head tightened.
Accept their affection and he won't hurt you. She recalled.
In no time, he had tilted her face and had pressed his lips on hers, forcefully of course. And, she couldn't do anything. His grip was strong. So, she just closed her eyes and waited for him to stop the assault on her mouth. After a few seconds, she realized he was deepening the kiss as he tilted his face in the other direction.
She prayed to God, to save her from the situation. She didn't want to feel his tongue. The thought alone sent shivers down her spine.
This time, God seemed to hear her. A squeal echoed throughout the room, which gave a perfect chance for Briana to push the alpha away from her. Of course, she failed. But Kael did maintain the distance, as he tried to spot the possible threat to his mate. Yes, he was being overly possessive, but then he was a werewolf who just found his mate. It would be unnatural if he didn't care about her.
"Sorry! I didn't know! " A feminine voice was heard instantly behind them. Kael turned around in anger as he hated being disturbed at his blissful moment.
His stare was enough for the human female to run away the way she came from.
"Stupid female. " she heard him mutter under his breath.
As soon as he faced her again and was about to resume what he was doing, Briana immediately coughed and came out of his hold that had loosened because of the stunt played by that woman. She blessed that woman whoever she was. An angel maybe! She thought.
"Shouldn't we get out!" She said lowly looking still at the ground. She just found it difficult to face his eyes. They were always so.....lusty and dominating, that even if she tried to be strong; one look at his eyes would melt her determination.
"Yeah! I just got carried away! Come mate! " he said and took her hand in his and walked out of the restroom. The sound of their shoes increased her heartbeat. It was really happening! She was going with a werewolf and will have to live with him! She didn't want it! But, she had no other option. She wasn't strong enough to fight him. And, her friend specifically told her not to run. She wasn't even here to help her! She was alone now, and the thought alone scared her more. When they came out of the restroom, Briana was greeted by a man with a big smile plastered on his face. He was very fair and his hair was almost golden. It didn't take her long to guess who it was. She had seen him so many times in the news and posters. "Hello, Luna! I am Adams, your beta." He greeted with a deep bow to show respect.
In return, she bowed to his level on instinct. She was taught about this. Whenever a wolf greets you, you should bow deeply and greet them back. And, since she was in front of the beta, the second-highest position of any region, she couldn't help but bow.
Instantly, she heard a growl and saw Adams bend to his knees. The growl, of course, came from Kae, and she wondered what had happened now!
"Please don't embarrass me, Luna!" Adams begged still on his knees.
It was too much for Briana to take. Why was such a high-ranked person on his knees in front of her? Obviously, she wasn't used to getting much respect and honour.
"I .... I don't understand. I didn't embarrass you, sir." She said meekly, trying to prove her point that she was innocent. She knew what punishment was received when you insulted a werewolf, especially one of such high rank.
"Mate, you are his superior. You must not bow to him, or call him 'sir'. You are the luna, my equal. And, everybody else here is below you. " Kael explained as he found out that she wasn't aware of her title and power.
She was thrilled now! It was difficult to digest all this in so little time. So, she simply nodded and looked down, to ignore the audience that had assembled.
Kael soon allowed his beta to get up and caught his mate's hand.
"Is everything ready?" He asked coldly of Adams.
"Yes, Alpha." The reply came instantly.
Growing anxious from the inside, Briana still followed Kael as he led the way. Throughout the way, everybody slightly bowed to their alpha and luna, while she struggled not to bow back. Her face remained impassive to everything that was happening. But, she remembered what he just said.
Soon, they were out of the premises of their exam center and three cars were waiting just in front of them.
Kael, who was looking at her almost every second, asked her to get into the middle one while he talked with the beta. She obeyed silently and walked towards it.
