After a few seconds of utter silence, Kael turned around and looked at his mate. He didn't want his mate to write this exam, and he had made up his mind not to let her write it; but, now that she had asked for it as the first promise, he couldn't deny it. He loved her so much already. So, after a moment of silence, he approved her wish.
"As you wish, darling," he stated with a smile. He planned on making a good impression on his mate.
Brianna sighed in relief. She blinked a few times and immediately turned on her heels to get back to the exam hall. Ariana followed her cue too. She was angry at her friend for wasting the first promise on something like an exam! There were so many better things to ask for. But, what's happened has happened. She couldn't change it. So, she decided to finish her exam as well and planned on having some alone time with her, if possible.
As soon as Briana entered the room, she took her seat and grabbed the pen from the floor. She looked at the watch to know how much more time she had. Her heart squeezed as she realized she had less than an hour more to complete the exam, and more than half of the questions were left. On instinct, she put the blame on the Alpha, who was standing outside waiting for her. It was impossible to finish the paper on time now. But, she didn't lose hope and answered the questions as quickly and briefly as she could.
As soon as the time was up, the invigilator asked the students to put their pens down and stop writing. So, reluctantly, Briana stopped writing. She wasn't able to attend the last two questions which carried five marks each. When the invigilator came to her seat, she surprised Briana by slightly bowing to her with a genuine smile.
"It's nice to meet you, Luna!" She regarded leaving her speechless. It was the first time in her whole existence, that she got such an amazing response from a werewolf, other than the usual disgusted look. And all because she was the soul mate of an Alpha!
She was so deep in shock, that she didn't even smile back. She just stared at the werewolf in shock. When the invigilator left to collect other papers as well, Briana looked back at her friend. She didn't know what to do now. Briana knew that the werewolf who claimed to be her soul mate would be out and that alone scared her again. In just a few minutes of their meeting, he had kissed the hell out of her, and she wondered what he would do once she actually stayed with him.
Stays!
The bell rang in her head as she thought about staying with him. No! Not in a billion years could she live with a werewolf....that too an Alpha who is crazy according to her dictionary. She had heard about the Alpha of West who had beaten his mate to paralysis just because she had once tried to escape. She didn't want this to become her fate too! She wanted to be a free bird. So, anyone could imagine her fear when her predator was standing outside probably waiting for her eagerly.
"Meet me in the washroom. " Ariana whispered as she met her friend's eyes. She knew how Briana was feeling. And, she genuinely wanted to help her.
Brianna looked at her friend in confusion as she saw her leave the exam hall. So, she slowly gathered her stuff and stood up to leave the room too. To her utter surprise, as soon as she stepped out of her seat, the nearby werewolves greeted her with respect.
To get away from the scene as fast as she could, she muttered a quick 'hello' and quickened her steps to come out of the hall. And, just like that, she stepped into another trouble. As she had expected, the Alpha was indeed eagerly waiting for her.
As soon as she stepped out of the room, she was engulfed in his embrace. Kael hugged Briana and kissed her forehead lovingly.
"How was your exam?" He asked softly while roaming his eyes all over her face to see if she was okay or not.
"Fine." She muttered. She wanted to say 'terrible' as her exam had never once gone this badly as it did today. But, for the sake of not indulging in any more conversation, she spoke the smallest word.
"Great! Let's get you home. You're probably tired, aren't you!" He asked getting excited to show her his home..... their home. The thought alone brought happiness to his heart. Finally, he would be sharing his everything with someone....and much better.....with his soul mate!
But, his soul mate had something else going on in her mind. When they reached the stairs, she saw the signboard of the ladies' restroom. She was about to tell him that she wanted to use the restroom when she saw Ariana coming out of the restroom.
Ariana met her eyes and with a small gesture, she signaled her to go inside. Michael, who was standing just outside the restroom waiting for his mate, got doubtful about her actions. But, he didn't enquire about it. His mind was filled with other things at the moment.
"I...I umm want to use the restroom." Briana spoke timidly as she was partly confused. She thought Ariana wanted to talk to her. But, no! She was outside now. What would she do inside? And, why the hell did she direct her to go inside! She didn't want to use the restroom, for God's sake! She had other important things to worry about!
Kael blinked twice at the awkwardness!
"Oh, sure! I'll wait for you here. Or do you want me to accompany you? What if you hurt yourself inside? " he said, as if to himself.
"No! I mean, I won't get hurt," she said hesitantly.
When the Alpha nodded, she went inside after she saw Michael pulling Shraddha with him.
Once inside, she swiped her hand on her face! What was happening? How did she come to this position?
I have to escape! I have to! God, I can't live with him!
Tears came out, without her permission and she patted her heart to somehow control herself from breaking down. She didn't want to be weak, but the situation was out of her hands. She quickly wiped her tears and approached the washbasin to wash her face. If she had to face that werewolf again, she definitely wasn't going to display her fear in front of him. She wasn't going to show him that she was weaker than him in any sense. But, before she could open the tap, her eyes fell on a neatly folded sheet of paper, kept safely under the dryer. Narrowing her eyes, she decided to ignore it. But then her curiosity got the best of her, and she decided to open it. After all, she had some reason to delay the time of coming out. Wiping her eyes with her sleeve, she cleared her vision and opened the paper properly. One eyebrow shot up as she realized that it was a note written by her friend for her.
"Listen,
I hope it's u who's reading this. U have no idea hw much I am angry at u! I mean, why in hell did u waste ur 1st promise on exams! I mean seriously? Were u out of ur mind?
Forget it! I have something imp 2 tell u.
Don't panic and do think abt it wisely.
Accept it that you are now the soul mate of an alpha, which makes u the luna. And, I don't have to tell u how alphas r! So, take things wisely. Don't resist him. I am serious. If you resist his affection, I am telling you, everything will become worse.
Accept his affections like kisses or hugs or....well, you know that. Don't deny him of 'it'. As well as, if possible, try to respond to his affections positively, even if it's fake! If you satisfy him, he won't hurt you. He might even start trusting you. Coz I am serious when I tell u this that these dogs don't trust human mates at all. Jay doesn't trust me at all because of the stunts that I pulled initially. And, I have paid the price.....It was really painful.
And, after hurting us, they forget or ignore that they have done anything like that. They consider it as their way of displaying affection!
So, as ur friend, do this for me, plz!
Don't try to run away, plzzzz. And, don't shout at him or insult him.
Show weakness in front of him and he'll be happy. Satisfy him and he will be happy. In short, just make him happy. Or else, he'll find many ways to find happiness which u won't like.
Don't think I am mad. Coz, until I find a way to meet u, I need u to get his entire trust in u. I have certain plans that I can't tell u via this paper. It's kind of confidential. I'll explain everything to u the next time we meet. And, trust me it's a perfect plan.
Until then, just do this for me.

Aadhira sighed after reading the note. She wondered when she wrote it! Above this, she wondered what 'plans' she was talking about! And what about ' displaying weakness'! Like seriously? There she was, determined not to display any kind of weakness, and here her friend was almost begging her to display weakness. And, 'responding to his affections' !!!
Impossible! How can I positively respond to his affections when he isn't even of my species! What species do they belong to anyway? She wondered.
"Mate!" A loud voice boomed in the confined room. It was soft yet bold. She immediately recognized it to be her so-called mate's. How weird did it sound to call him her 'mate'!
Briana immediately crumbled the paper and threw it in the dustbin. Washing her face and drying it with her hankie, she quickly looked at her reflection. She had decided to obey her friend. If she had plans, then she would not flop them.
"You look beautiful, mate! Don't worry about it." His voice came again.
