Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: First Encounter: Geto’s Shock

"Damn, what a spectacle!"

"Which corporate heir just decided to take a stroll?"

"That's one flashy rich kid!"

"If he wasn't so young, I swear I'd let him spoil me for a few years~"

The pedestrians lining both sides of the street stared at Zenin Mirai in the eye-catching red convertible, whispering among themselves.

Several fashionable young women had already pulled out their phones, searching for any news on potential heirs from powerful conglomerates.

Some had even begun to imagine what their future children would be named.

But no one dared step too close to the matte black luxury cars that surrounded the convoy.

A single scratch might cost them their entire savings.

Mirai rested his chin on his hand, eyeing the pair across the street with interest.

Young Suguru Geto and Shoko Ieiri.

Unlike their manga depictions, the real versions carried a sense of humanity.

More presence. More weight.

Geto and Shoko, meanwhile, frowned at the boy in the passenger seat behind the glass window.

They had only just bumped into each other, and yet the Zenin Clan had already shown up in force.

It didn't feel like coincidence.

"We've arrived. Have them begin the operation," Mirai instructed softly.

The driver gave a curt nod and relayed the order through his earpiece.

"Clan Head."

A sorcerer stepped out from one of the black cars and bowed respectfully.

She was the mother of Maki and Mai.

"Take your daughters shopping," Mirai said calmly.

"If they like something, just buy it. The Zenin Clan isn't short on cash."

He then turned to another man dressed in a black suit, more bodyguard than sorcerer.

"And you, make sure they're safe."

"If anything happens, you already know what that means for you."

The sorcerer in the suit stiffened, a cold sweat breaking out across his back.

"Understood, Clan Head! I'll protect the young ladies with my life!"

The two little girls said nothing, quietly slipping into another black car with their mother once Mirai had finished speaking.

"You're not running?" Shoko whispered.

"You're a wanted criminal, remember? Jujutsu High is after your head."

"And with Zenin Clan sorcerers showing up here, you sure they're not here to arrest you?"

Geto just chuckled.

"Let's wait and see. I'm curious what this Zenin Clan Head is up to."

Besides Gojo, there wasn't a sorcerer Geto feared, not even the Zenin.

That confidence came from raw strength.

As one of the three Special Grade Jujutsu Sorcerers, Suguru Geto didn't see himself as prey.

He wasn't like those cursed users who only knew how to hide in the shadows.

The next moment,

To the astonishment of both Shoko and Geto, the two rows of black sedans suddenly drove away.

Only the red convertible remained, sitting alone in the middle of the street.

The driver? Just a normal human being, not a trace of cursed energy on him.

Mirai sat there with an unbothered expression, as if nothing in the world could touch him.

Was this really not an ambush? Or did he have some other goal?

Watching the confusion on their faces, Mirai let out a small laugh.

"Wait a little longer."

"I hate having conversations when there're mosquitoes buzzing around."

Is he talking to us?

Shoko blinked in confusion, not fully understanding his meaning.

But Geto narrowed his eyes, clearly thinking it over.

Rooftop.

High above, a masked cursed user peered down at the ten-billion-yen target in the convertible.

He had arrived on short notice, planning to attack when the convoy was most vulnerable.

But now the entire fleet had driven off, leaving the boy completely exposed.

It felt more like bait than an opportunity.

Strike now, or keep waiting?

While he hesitated, others didn't.

From within the crowd, another masked cursed user sprang into action.

No warning. No hesitation.

Kill first. Questions never.

"Zing, !"

Several razor-sharp throwing knives whistled through the air like fired bullets, slicing through wind as they flew straight for Mirai's head and heart.

The attack was clean, fast, lethal.

One move, and the floodgates opened.

Cursed users erupted from every hidden corner, rooftops, alleys, sewer grates, store entrances, and the very heart of the crowd.

Even if this was a trap, a bounty that large was worth dying for.

They unleashed it all: flying blades, fireballs, compressed air blasts, gunfire, and cursed techniques.

Every form of combat poured toward the boy in the red convertible.

Geto stood with hands in his pockets, making no move to help.

Not that the mysterious child needed it.

Even the driver, an ordinary human, looked completely calm.

Fascinating.

Boom!

Just when the attackers believed they had succeeded,

Their smiles froze.

A demonic hand stretched out beside Mirai, swatting the hail of cursed techniques out of the air like dust.

Then, from the sky,

A massive tail, as thick as a tree trunk and covered in ancient cracks, came crashing down like divine judgment.

It pierced straight through the bodies of the attackers.

"Aagh!"

Their screams were cut short as the skewered corpses were dragged into a yawning void.

The civilians nearby looked up, frowning in confusion.

All they saw was blue sky.

And somewhere, faintly,

Crunch. Crunch.

A chewing sound.

They shook their heads, thinking it was just imagination, and continued walking.

Only Shoko and Geto felt the pressure.

Their pupils shrank. Their bodies tensed.

They hadn't even seen the full cursed spirit, but ten enormous tails hovered in the sky like twisted branches, darkening the light around them.

The cursed energy was vast, suffocating, and completely beyond anything they'd felt before.

It was far beyond Special Grade.

Not in any Jujutsu High record.

No doubt, an unclassified Special Grade cursed spirit.

Cold sweat slid down Shoko's forehead as she pulled out her phone with trembling fingers.

She had to contact Gojo.

This thing might actually be able to kill Geto.

Geto looked at Mirai again, this time with all arrogance stripped away.

With this level of cursed energy alone, the boy already qualified as a Special Grade sorcerer.

"I'm not here to fight you," Mirai said casually, hands behind his head as he reclined further into the seat.

"I found your little speech to Shoko earlier quite... interesting."

"Those fools at Jujutsu High might not get you, but maybe you'd like to work with the Zenin Clan instead."

As he spoke, the driver helpfully adjusted the seat to let Mirai lie back even more comfortably.

"Oh?"

"You actually understand what I'm trying to do?"

Geto raised an eyebrow, surprised.

Then he smiled.

"Then what about Gojo Satoru?"

"If we're going to cooperate, he's the one obstacle neither of us can ignore."

Even if this boy had more cursed energy than Gojo, Geto still doubted he had a way to deal with that monster.

Mirai nodded without resistance.

"You're right. I'm not there yet. That's why we need time, to grow."

"If you're willing to talk, come to the Zenin estate."

Geto glanced up at the cursed spirit floating high above, its tails coiling like great serpents.

His expression shifted as he considered the offer.

After a moment of silence, he chuckled and nodded.

"Alright. If I need help, I'll come knocking."

Throughout their entire conversation, neither paid any attention to Shoko, who was still on the phone nearby.

They treated her like air.
