Chapter 5 - Burning Love

A few minutes after the two Supreme Beings left, everyone finally got up. Even so, no one dared to speak loudly, showing their heartfelt respect.

Mare clapped his hands and said timidly, "That's great, Sig-san is back after all."

Aura tapped his head and said with a tone of disappointment, "What are you talking about? When has Sig-san not returned on time?"

"But, we almost didn't get to see him…"

Mare's voice grew softer, but all the Guardians present could hear him, and the atmosphere became oppressive for a moment.

In the Guardians' memories, Sig, as one of the Supreme Beings, was the most unstable one, always disappearing every once in a while.

Thinking about it now, if he hadn't returned before Nazarick was transferred, they really would never have seen him again.

"Flying Squirrel-san has always been here, so even for Flying Squirrel-san's sake, Sig-san would definitely come back," Aura declared confidently.

"Flying Squirrel-san's powerful fluctuations are truly difficult to control. As expected of the one who leads the Supreme Beings, my only ruler!"

Shalltear panted heavily, her cheeks flushed with an unnatural blush.

"Ehh—" Aura moved away in disgust.

Albedo slowly got up, her face turning very grim, emitting a dangerous Aura around her. "Shalltear, I've noticed that you've been very disrespectful to Sig-san since just now."

"Huh?"

Albedo frowned and sternly accused, "Are you not judging a Supreme Being based on your own preferences?"

Fun fact: Dragonoids are long-lived species, not Undead, so they don't fit the preferences of a necrophiliac.

"I'm stating a fact; you're the one overthinking it," Shalltear widened her eyes, her expression becoming exaggerated. "Besides, Flying Squirrel-san is inherently more charming."

Cocytus exhaled a puff of cold air and said in a muffled voice, "Shalltear, you are too disrespectful."

"Bitch!"

"Albedo, you calm down too…"

The two-meter-tall Insect King fell silent; he truly didn't understand wars between women.

Mare and Aura, being children, didn't quite understand these matters and stood by, watching intently.

Sebas felt a hint of impatient agitation; clearly, his attention wasn't focused on the quarrel. He was hesitating whether to go serve the Supreme Beings, and if the two weren't in the same place, how should he arrange it.

After not much deliberation, he decisively chose Flying Squirrel-san first. Although he wanted to be closer to Sig-san, it was indeed as Demiurge said.

"I'm going to serve the Supreme Beings; I can't let them wait too long." Sebas trotted away, fearing someone might stop him from behind.

Demiurge showed a meaningful expression.

Merely arguing about charm was actually harmless. He believed the two Supreme Beings wouldn't get angry over it. If the two were arguing over one of them, he might even look forward to the outcome.

However, if it developed into two factions, it would definitely lead to disharmony within Nazarick, which was absolutely something neither of the two would want to see.

The Supreme Beings created their diverse personalities, but Sig-san had just hinted to him that Nazarick must be unified. He would take this opportunity to also remind the other Guardians.

"Albedo, Shalltear, let's pause this. I don't want this argument to continue. Sig-san and Flying Squirrel-san are good friends; you two should also get along harmoniously, or you'll disappoint them."

Disappointment ≈ leaving?

Shalltear and Albedo exchanged glances and quickly reached an agreement.

Although they were arguing, their loyalty to the two Supreme Beings was unquestionable, and their respect was equally so. It was indeed harmful to their harmony to quarrel over a small mistake.

If it affected the two, they would rather commit suicide.

The surrounding Guardians all nodded in agreement.

Albedo tucked her hair behind her ear. "Shalltear, I think we can end this topic. Don't let me hear disrespectful words from you again."

"My apologies, I admit I spoke out of turn. Actually, Peroroncino's setting is to become relaxed when facing Sig-san; there was no disrespect intended."

"I see, so it's a setting from a Supreme Being… But I advise you not to have strange thoughts about Sig-san."

"Hmph, I wouldn't! I want to monopolize Flying Squirrel-san."

"You? Hmph hmph."

"Do you have a problem with that?!"

"Damn violent gorilla," Shalltear muttered to herself.

"Nothing, this is fine."

Tsk, just a stupid lamprey interested in corpses. Albedo was very confident that Sig-san wouldn't like a busty, brainless woman.

But this was good too. Although she didn't want to admit it, Shalltear was indeed a formidable rival, and now she could monopolize Sig-san.

Sig, who had an item-collecting habit, was the only guild member who hadn't created an NPC, so there wouldn't be a situation where others would compete for his favor. This was very good news.

Albedo returned to normal, transforming back into the dignified and beautiful pure white demon. "Alright, Guardians, let's assign tasks."

"Flying Squirrel, want to have a PvP match?" At this moment, Sig was wiping the long spear in his hand, its dark tip glinting with cold light.

"Gungnir," crafted from a branch of the World Tree, vows made upon the spear cannot be revoked and will certainly be fulfilled. It can be thrown to pierce through anything, appearing like a shooting star across the sky when thrown, hence also known as the Starfall Spear.

Ainz Ooal Gown held one of the World Items, which Sig had snatched during a guild battle. With the permission of other guild members, he personally held it and used it as his main weapon.

In the past, Flying Squirrel would have gladly accepted such an invitation.

As a PvP master, he had never won against Sig, who was like a towering wall before him. Sparring with him allowed him to experience the joy of defeating a strong opponent.

However, given the current situation, it was clearly not a good time.

"Let's not. What if we can't revive? Although magic works in this world, we haven't verified resurrection magic yet."

Sig nodded in agreement, as reasonable as ever.

"By the way, why didn't you change Albedo's setting to love Flying Squirrel? No one would know if you didn't say anything. I think that would be more reasonable."

"Sig-san, how could I do such a thing? Isn't Albedo your ideal type?" Flying Squirrel said, showing great understanding.

Sig looked confused. "Huh? You… When did I ever say that?"

"Peroroncino and Bubble Teapot were also there that time. You said you liked gentle, ladylike women on the surface who are actually very domineering older sisters. When I saw Albedo's setting, the first person I thought of was you."

"Be that as it may, Albedo is… Emerald Tablet's child."

Sig was internally collapsing. While that was true, Albedo's personality couldn't be summed up in a single sentence; that kind of love had reached yandere levels.

The thought of Albedo blushing because of him, and her expression twisting because of him, sent shivers down Sig's spine.

"But modifying Albedo's setting was truly an accident. I thought the servers were shutting down at the time, and I just modified it on a whim." Flying Squirrel felt he was making excuses, so he prepared to kneel and apologize.

Sig covered his face helplessly. "Forget it, what's done is done; I can only accept it."

Flying Squirrel softly comforted him, "Albedo's appearance is one of the best in Nazarick, and her personality is also very good. She's practically a perfect girlfriend. But don't misunderstand, I won't have any other intentions. A friend's wife is not to be bullied; I can't do such immoral things."

Sig looked utterly lifeless. He regretted speaking too much and getting along so well with Flying Squirrel!

Perhaps seeing that his comfort had the opposite effect, Flying Squirrel made an excuse to go out for a stroll to clear his head. But Sig was in no mood for that now; he waved his hand, preparing to return to his room to rest.

"Sig-san, don't worry. If we ever see Emerald Tablet, I'll take responsibility for explaining."

The smile Sig had just forced froze. "Thank you very much," he thought sarcastically.
