It's been a couple of days since I woke up from my mini coma, thanks to Midoriko, and I've been either stretching in my room or training with Kohaku in the mountains, while also trying to avoid that Saint Hakushin or whatever cause he gives me the creeps. However, today I was unable to get past him as he is practically staring into my soul. "Why would a guy referred to as a Saint want to help Naraku of all people?" I wonder as the Saint narrows his eyes at me.
"You're quite the strange one..." Saint Hakushin trails off as I stare back at him.
"You're a Mummy, and I'm the weird one?" I ask, causing the Saint to go silent for a moment, but then he chuckles.
"I didn't mean you as a person, but the Pureness of your Soul... I've never felt a soul like yours before, Fate Twister." Saint Hakushin answers, making me let out a sigh as I look away from him.
"How do you even know that?" I question the Saint as he closes his eyes.
"I know many things." Saint Hakushin responds.
"My name's (Y/N), so I would appreciate it if you would quit calling me that Mummy." I insist.
"As you wish, but please call me Hakushin instead of Mummy." Saint Hakushin requests as he opens his eyes, and I glance back over at him.
"Fine, Hakushin," I say, and a slight smile appears on his mummified face.
"(Y/N)." A quiet voice rings out, causing me to look over to see Kanna standing beside me, and I smile down at her.
"What is it, Kanna?" I ask as Kanna looks up at me and goes quiet for a moment. "Naraku's probably requesting my presence, but it's not Kanna's fault that she has to be the messenger or that she was even created." I think as I place my hand on her head, causing Kanna to pop back into reality.
"Follow," Kanna answers as she then turns away, and I follow after her to the sliding door from before.
"Thank you for guiding me, Kanna." I thank her as she stares up at me for a moment, but then back down at the ground as I turn away. "I wonder what Naraku's summoned me for." I think, while sliding the door open, and head towards the stairs with a slight concerned expression.
"(Y/N)." Naraku's voice rings out as I feel his gaze fixated on me, while I make my way towards the Futon he was sitting on, but I then begin to hear breathing behind me. My body turned quickly to see Kohaku bend down a few feet from me.
"What's going on?" I question.
"Kohaku will be starting his missions," Naraku responds as I see Kohaku's serious expression. "Is Naraku trying to get a rise out of me?" I wonder as I glance over to see Naraku's eyes staring into mine.
"I want you to accompany him," Naraku adds, causing me to put on a confused expression.
"I kinda can't... Remember?" I ask as I motion to my arm, causing Naraku to shake his head slightly as he looks over at Kohaku.
"As long as you do not stray from Kohaku's side, the Miasma shall not spread throughout your body," Naraku answers, making my eyes widen. "I literally could have taken Kohaku with me if I didn't want the Miasma to spread, really?!" I think, but then narrow my eyes at him.
"Why have me accompany Kohaku?" I question, making a slight smirk to spread across his lips, but he then turns away from us. "So he doesn't want to tell me the reason, huh." I think as I stare at him for a moment.
"Kohaku, go forth with (Y/N)," Naraku instructs Kohaku, who stands and grabs my hand. "He must be trying to test my resolve." I think as Kohaku leads me up the stairs.
(Naraku's POV)
I watched as (Y/N) was led up the stairs by Kohaku, and once they were out of sight, a sigh escaped me.
"I want to believe she doesn't have an ulterior motive, but I can't be certain." I point out as I then look down at my hand. "No matter, I won't allow you to escape, Butterfly." I think as I clench the blanket.
(To (Y/N) )
( (Y/N)'s POV)
Kohaku and I were exiting the barrier, but I couldn't get over the feeling that Kohaku was acting a little differently as I looked over at him. However, I saw several lights illuminating from his chest, causing my eyes to widen. "Why does he have so many Jewel Shards on him?!" I wonder as I narrow my eyes at him.
"So what is the mission, Kohaku?" I asked him to glance back at me, and unlike his usual expression, it was a bit more stern.
"We'll need to travel a ways," Kohaku answers as he then begins running as I follow after him."Why did Naraku give Kohaku 6 Jewel Shards?" I wonder as we continued to run deeper into the mountains, only for us to come to a village.
"Is there something we need in this Village?" I question, but then a weird feeling began to overwhelm me as I looked over to see a burial shrine collapse and reveal the stone split into two pieces. Suddenly, Kohaku walks up as he holds the shards in his hand with a serious expression.
"Kohaku?" I ask as he glances back at me.
"We're going to distribute these shards to Naraku's new allies. So we'll need to travel to all the nearby Villages." Kohaku answers causing me to put on a confused expression. "Are we bringing these so-called 'New Allies' back to life with the power of the shards?" I wonder as Kohaku bends down and places one of the shards into the rubble, causing the ground to begin shaking.
"Why would Naraku bring people back from the dead?" I question, but Kohaku then turns away and begins running once again, making me follow after him.
(To Koga)
"A giant Demonic Aura passed overhead?" Koga asks, looking over at Ginta and Hakkaku.
"Yeah, and the whole area is talking about it," Hakkaku answers.
"No one has seen it since, though," Ginta adds, causing Koga to look away from them.
"It disappeared." Koga points out, and Ginta nods.
"Where to?" Koga questions as he glances back at them.
"No one knows," Hakkaku responds to Koga, who puts on an irritated expression.
"The river upstream flows to the mountains in the North." Koga made known as he looked over to the mountains in the distance to see a dark purple cloud surrounding them. Suddenly, Koga's nose twitches as he looks over to see a darkness flowing down the river.
"Blood," Koga says with wide eyes, looking down at the darkness in the water. Without another word, Koga begins to rush through the forest when the sound of a scream causes him to rush towards it to see a brown Wolf being attacked.
"Get off him!" Koga calls out as he slices the Demon's heads with his claws.
"Koga!" Hakkaku calls out as he and the others catch up, but stop as they see the Demon's heads hit the ground.
"Thank you. So you're from one of the tribes to the South?" The brown Wolf asks, while lying on the ground.
"Elder, you have the gift of speech," Koga answers, causing the brown wolf to look over at him.
"You went to the trouble of saving me, but I fear my end is at hand." The brown Wolf states as Koga puts on a concerned expression.
"Listen, aren't you an elder of the Northern Mountains?" Koga questions, causing Hakkaku to bend down to the brown Wolf.
"Ayame came from the North to get Koga not long ago." Hakkaku declares, and the wolf looks around.
"Koga? Is Koga here with us?" The brown Wolf asks, making Koga bend down closer to him.
"I am Koga," Koga answers the brown wolf, who shuts his eyes.
"I am glad I have a chance to meet you, Koga. We abandoned our territories and descended from the Northern Mountains, as did the Demons that attacked us." The brown Wolf informs.
"You fled from your land?" Hakkaku questions.
"Fled from what?" Ginta asks.
"From a Specter." The brown Wolf responds.
"Specter?" Koga questions with a confused expression.
"It came from far beyond our Northern Border. It is neither a Demon nor a Human, yet its body reeked of dead men and graveyard soil, and it started to eat the Demons close by..." The brown wolf trails off as he takes his last breaths.
(To Kagome)
She and Shippo were riding on Inuyasha, who was carrying her bike as Songo and Miroku were riding alongside them on Kirara.
"It smells of Wolves here." Inuyasha made known with an annoyed expression.
"It does?" Kagome asks.
"There's only one Wolf around with this distinct smell. It has to be Koga." Inuyasha answers.
"If your senses are correct and it is indeed him, then he must be headed for the Northeast just as we are." Miroku points out.
"I wonder if he's come across some kind of clue," Songo adds.
"Did someone mention Koga?" A female voice rings out.
"That voice is familiar." Kagome insists as they then see a cyclone appear in front of them, which causes Inuyasha to quickly stop, resulting in Shippo flying forward.
"Whoa!" Shippo sounds out as a girl with orange hair appears from the cyclone and catches him.
"You again," Kagome says, causing Shippo to turn to the girl and point.
"Ayame, it's you!" Shippo chirps.
"Ayame," Kagome says as Miroku puts his hand to his chin.
"Indeed." Miroku nods as Songo looks over at Kagome.
"She's the Wolf Demon Girl from Koga's tribe that was jealous of you, Kagome." Songo specifies as Ayame begins walking over and holds out Shippo to Kagome.
"Uh, here." Ayame insists as she hands Shippo to Kagome.
"Thank you. I thought you went back to the Northern Mountains." Kagome states, making Ayame put on a slightly cloudy expression.
"I did, but-"
"But what?" Kagome asks Ayame, who looks up at Kagome.
"We fled when the Beast came after us." Ayame answers.
"Beast?" Kagome questions cause Ayame to put on a serious expression.
"A Beast who devours Demons," Ayame responds.
"I don't like the sound of that." Inuyasha declares
(Time Skip)
Ayame showed them to a cave in which the Wolf Demons had taken shelter from the Demons.
"A specter?" Kagome asks as she finishes bandaging up Ayame's Grandfather.
"That's right, and it doesn't appear to be either Demon or Human." Ayame answers.
"It came from- from the Northeast." Ayame's Grandfather adds amusing Miroku to look over at him.
"From the Northeast? The direction of the Oxtiger." Miroku points out.
"In no time at all, the Specter devoured all the Demons and Spirits that lived in the Mountains. Then it descended to the borders. of our own territory." Ayame informs as she played one of her hands on her Grandfather.
"So many of our friends were devoured." Ayame's Grandfather specifies.
"The Wolf Demon Tribe isn't a weak tribe, though." Songo made known, causing Ayame to turn to her.
"The Specter is the size of a small mountain." Ayame states.
"How could there be such a creature?" Shippo questions as Miroku looks over at him.
"It's been said since Ancient Times that men who died with unfinished business turn into such creatures. They never let go of their hatred." Miroku responds, causing Songo to turn to him.
"There aren't many who can do this- resurrect a terrifying creature that would devour Demons without any hesitation?" Songo asks, making Inuyasha look over at her.
"It has got to be him," Inuyasha answers as Kagome puts her hand to her chest with a serious expression.
"Naraku..." Kagome trails off, causing Ayame to look up at her.
"I must leave now and try to take the Elder and the remaining Wolf Demon clan to safety, but-"
"Say no more. If we ever see Koga, we'll tell him that you and the rest of your clan were able to escape. Don't you worry." Kagome reassures, while interrupting Ayame.
"Kagome, thanks for all your help." Ayame thanks with a smile.
(To (Y/N) )
Kohaku and I were up in a tree, staring down at the giant man devouring Demons causing me to yawn. "This guy has done nothing but eat since he was resurrected... More importantly, I'm beginning to sense Sacred Jewel Shards heading this way." I think as I begin swinging my legs, while sitting on the tree branch next to Kohaku.
"Master Kyokotsu. The Sacred Jewel Shards are close." Kohaku announces, making me look over at Kohaku, who was still wearing that serious expression. "This really is a test." I think as I narrowed my eyes at Kohaku.
The ones who possess it are approaching." Kohaku informs, causing Kyokotsu to swallow one last time.
"I see. It was worth heading over there before my brothers do the same. Kohaku and (Y/N), was it not? You both are free to leave. That is all." Kyokotsu insists, making Kohaku turn as I to stand up. "Finally, but I still think this guy was a total waste of a Jewel Shard." I think, but then a murderous intent quickly filled the air, causing me to quickly grab the hilt of my sword.
"But I will have that shard on your back!" Kyokotsu bellows as his hand rushes towards making me draw my sword cut off his hand.
"I won't let you or anyone touch my personal guard," I state as both Kohaku and I land on the ground facing Kyokotsu.
"I'd advise against such deceit." Kohaku declares, glaring up at Kyokotsu, while a buzzing sound rings out, causing the giant guy to see the poisonous insects above us.
"So you're both under his protection. Very well, then. I'll leave you two alone." Kyokotsu insists as he picks up his hand.
"I value my life, especially since I've been resurrected from the grave." Kyokotsu chuckles as his sliced-off hand reattaches to his arm. "This guy gives me the creeps." I think as the light of the shard in his forehead glows.
(To Koga)
His Wolves begin rushing up the mountain when a hand comes out through the forest and towards the wolves, making them scatter. However, one of Koga's wolves was about to be caught, causing him to quickly grab it and jump away.
"Keep your hands off my Wolves!" Koga demands as Kyokotsu chuckles while emerging from the forest.
"Is it you? Are you the one who had the Sacred Jewel Shards?" Kyokotsu asks, causing Koga to glare up at him.
"I will have the Jewel Shards and your life." Kyokotsu threatens, as Hakkaku and Ginta freak out.
"W-what did he say?" Hakkaku questions.
"Look at the size of that thing." Ginta responds.
"So you're the Specter I've heard about, just as the Wolf Demon Tribe Elder said. You reek. You stink of Corpses and Graveyard Soil. You're neither Human nor Demon!" Koga calls out, making Kyokotsu growl.
"I still smell? It's been some time since I emerged from my Grave." Kyokotsu insists.
"He didn't blink an eye." Hakkaku points out with a creeped-out expression.
"Is he really a Specter?" Ginta asks.
"I'll have to eat more and put on muscle. You, over there. You will become one with the Great Kyokotsu!" Kyokotsu proclaims as he goes to grab Koga, but he quickly dodges him.
"No chance! Damn you to Hell!" Koga curses as he jumps up, kicking Kyokotsu in the face, and he falls backwards on the ground.
"How dare you lust after my blood and that of my comrades." Koga snaps as Kyokotsu chuckles, while sitting up.
"I see in your legs- you have shards of the Sacred Jewel in your legs?" Kyokotsu questions.
"Kyokotsu, you say? Tell me, just what kind of beast are you?" Koga asks as he narrows his eyes at Kyokotsu, who grinds his teeth.
"What do you mean, what am I? I am Human. Isn't it obvious?" Kyokotsu questions caused Ginta and Hakkaku, who were hiding, to stare at him in disbelief.
"So you're an average man who happened to emerge alive from the Grave," Koga responds to Kyokotsu, who chuckles and points up to his forehead.
"Thanks to this Sacred Jewel Shard, I feel much better than the first time I was alive," Kyokotsu informs with a toothy grin.
"Damn it! How did you get a hold of that?!" Koga exclaims, while making a fist in both hands.
"And what if I told you? You're still going to end up in my belly!" Kyokotsu bellows as he goes to grab Koga, who jumps backwards.
"You're in serious trouble if you think you can capture me with such clumsy moves," Koga states as he does a backflip and lands on the ground.
"This is how I deal with quick ones like you." Kyokotsu declares as he shoves his hand into the ground, pulling out a hilt, as a chain comes out of the ground, leading to a ball. Quickly, Kyokotsu yanks it, and the ball rushes towards Koga, who dodges it by jumping up and dodging Kyokotsu, who tries to grab him once more.
"Nice try. Bad aim." Koga remarks as Kyokotsu goes to hit him with his chain ball again, but Koga dodges and begins running around him.
"And aim straight if you're gonna hit me." Koga, made known as Kyokotsu, continues to try to hit Koga.
"Missed again." Koga jibes Kyokotsu, who throws his ball in front of Koga, forcing him backwards.
"Koga." Ginta whimpers as Koga jumps back up off the ground and wipes his mouth.
"Dead man or not, your tough-guy act isn't fooling anyone," Koga informs as a cyclone forms around him, while he's running around Kyokotsu.
"As if those tactics would work on me again." Koga insists as Kyokotsu throws his balls one more time, only for Koga to dodge it by jumping up and kicking the chain, breaking it. Resulting in Kyokotsu falling backwards with a loud grunting noise.
"I'll send you back to your Grave, dead man!" Koga calls out as he jumps up and plants his foot right onto the Jewel Shard in Kyokotsu's forehead, making its light shine out.
(To Ayame)
She and the rest of the Demon Wolves were looking over at the mountains to see a bright light.
"Over there," Ayame says with a concerned expression.
"The glow of the Sacred Jewel." Ayame's Grandfather made known.
"The Jewel? Could it be? Koga!" Ayame calls out as she begins running towards the shining mountain.
(To Koga)
He was dodging all of Kyokotsu's advances when his hand suddenly got behind Koga and quickly placed it against his face.
"Koga!" Ginta cries out as Kyokotsu makes loud eating noises.
"Too bad about your lousy aim, you clumsy corpse!" Koga bellows as he grabs Kyokotsu's head and twists it, causing Kyokotsu to fall to his knees, while Koga jumps away.
"Uh!" Kyokotsu sounds out as he falls onto the ground.
"Look! He did it!" Hakkaku chirps with a smile.
"Koga." Ginta smiles as Koga scoffs.
"That's a pain in the neck," Koga remarks as he turns and begins walking away, but Kyokotsu makes a fist and rushes it towards Koga, who turns only to be punched to the ground.
"So you thought you'd beat me?" Kyokotsu asks as get up and goes to swing his chain towards Koga, who was hit twice with it, but dodges the third time by rolling across the ground.
"He's still alive," Koga whispers with a surprised expression.
"Koga!" A voice rings out as a cyclone appears, making Koga look over and see Ayame appear from it.
"Koga, look out!" Ayame calls out as a giant hand grabs Koga.
"Koga!" Ginta and Hakkaku chorus as Kyokotsu chuckles, while slowly moving his head back in place.
"So much for your assumptions. Now I'll devour you, Jewel Shard and all." Kyokotsu states as he begins bringing Koga up to his mouth.
"Oh, you think so? Devour this!" Koga bellows as he shoves his hand into Kyokotsu's Forehead.
"Doesn't hurt one little bit." Kyokotsu jibes, but Koga smirks.
"It's all over." Koga declares as he pulls out the Jewel Shard that was embedded in Kyokotsu's forehead.
"My Sacred Jewel Shard!" Kyokotsu cries out as his flesh begins to disintegrate and begins to fall over, turning back into bones.
"Koga!" Ayame calls out as they all rush over to the pile of bones.
"Koga, where are you?" Hakkaku questions.
"Are you alive?" Ginta asks as Koga's hand reaches out and over towards the Jewel Shard that was resting on the bones a little ways out of his grasp.
"Huh?" Koga sounds out as a poisonous insect grabs the shard and flies away with it.
(To (Y/N) )
"He really was a waste of a Jewel Shard..." I trail off as the Poisonous insect drops the Jewel Shard into Kohaku's hand, and I glance back over to see Koga emerge from the bones of Kyokotsu. "Koga may not be as strong as Sesshomaru or Inuyasha, but there's no way he'd lose to a guy like that." I think with a smirk.
"We must depart," Kohaku informs, making me straighten up and turn, while wiping the smirk I had off my face.
"Okay," I say as Kohaku jumps to the next tree, causing me to follow after him. "I hope all these Specters are as weak as that one, so I don't have to worry about the others." I think as Kohaku, and I traveled through the tree tops.
(To Koga)
"Mere Bones." Ginta inspected as he was holding one of the bones.
"I guess the Sacred Jewel Shard brought him back to life." Hakkaku points out, while touching on one of them, as Koga was sitting on a rock a few feet away from them.
"Thank you, Koga. You avenged my comrades and friends. Those who died can now rest in peace." Ayame thanks Koga, who looked away from her.
"So Naraku's Demonic Aura disappeared towards the Northeast." Koga made known.
"Yes. That's what Kagome said." Ayame specifies as Ayame begins walking towards him.
"I see." Koga counters, trying not to make eye contact with her.
"Good-bye." Ayame re-counters as she goes to continue walking.
"Be careful, Ayame," Koga says, causing Ayame to stop and look back at him.
"That's exactly what Kagome said," Ayame informs, but then a cyclone engulfs her and begins rushing away.
"Same as Kagome, huh?" Koga asks as he continued to look in the direction Ayame left.
(To (Y/N) )
I was standing in a field covered in dead humans and horses, while infested with crows.
"So Kyokotsu is dead, is he?" A womanly sounding voice rings out, making me look over and see what looked to be a woman in the middle of all these corpses. "These people we've resurrected love carnage; they must be mercenaries or something." I think as I narrow my eyes to see it wasn't a woman, but a man.
"Yes, Master Jakotsu." Kohaku insisted as he got on his knees to the man, whose name was Jakotsu, who was sitting on a rock.
"Serves him right, stupid fool. Well, I suppose Kyokotsu was the weakest one of us all." Jakotsu states as he then glances over to me, but I don't dare flinch. "This guy gives me a weird vibe." I think as I stare at him.
"So what's he like?" Jakotsu asks.
"Who is this 'He' you're referring to?" I question, but he then smirks as he looks away.
"You know, my opponent, this Inuyasha. Tell me, is he really handsome?" Jakotsu asks, causing me to put on a confused expression.
"I guess. I mean, if you like the arrogant and broody type." I answer, making Jakotsu put on a pleasant smile, while putting his hands together.
"Oh, I can't wait... Inuyasha." Jakotsu beamed with a dreamy expression. "Could this guy be into guys?" I wonder as I stare at him with a look of disbelief.
