The trio watched as the twins walked towards them, their brows furrowed with various emotions.
"Thought you would have been a Gunmage, Tara", Luck said as he smiled towards the red-haired girl. Either way, Technomage may suit you even better.
Tara smiled in return, "To think I got a rare class just like that".
"Let's cut the pleasantries", Harry snapped in suddenly as he eyed Luck and Luke with curiosity.
The twins seemed used to this, as they showed no reaction whatsoever.
"We awakened early Luke replied simply.
The brows of the three shot up in unison as they looked at the pair with apparent shock.
"Yeah", Luck added with a smug grin ", It's true".
"Guess being the chief's children has its perks".
The snide-voiced person came from neither of them, causing them to glance at the muscular, black-haired youth behind them.
Luck's eyes drifted off Casey almost immediately, not even his presence anymore a validation.
This didn't go unnoticed by Casey, causing his expression to slightly darken, but he managed to rein himself in, instead putting his anger into words as he sneered.
"So because our strength is no longer on the same playing field, you think you can just ignore our existence when you're the second-generation wastrel who can only rely on his father's coattails?"
Luck glanced at the villager, his gaze indifferent as if he almost couldn't be bothered to answer someone as unworthy as Casey.
"First of all, I'm not ignoring everyone, just you. Secondly, our strength was never on the same level; we established long ago the difference between genius and trash, and thirdly, who said I awakened through my father's position?"
Casey ground his teeth with angst as chuckles and snickers began to reach his ears.
Unfortunately, it wasn't only coming from their group.
His expression went pale as he noticed his fellow newly awakened staring at him while trying their best not to erupt in laughter.
It seems Luck's barrage of retorts managed to reach the ears of all the awakened, although he spoke evenly.
Seeing he had no way of fixing his damaged reputation, Casey remained silent as he turned around and walked off.
"Looks like somebody grew some balls along with his meridians", Terra remarked.
"Don't forget beef", Luke quipped with a grin, seemingly unperturbed that Casey's insult was also directed at him.
"Casey always hated us", Luck said evenly as though he was talking about something that wasn't related to him. The difference, though, was that even they would show a sliver of emotion.
"By the way, what do you mean your awakening had nothing to do with your father?"
As if a flip was switched in his head, Luck's grinned with pride "We killed an E-rank wolf"
"That's impossible" Harry retorted incredulously.
"It isn't actually" Terra quipped matter-of-factly "They're the most talented and are definitely the most skilled among all of us. Plus they have Kira".
Harry looked unconvinced " That still doesn't explain how they managed to awaken"
Luke smiled as he sheepishly scratched the back of his head " You wouldn't believed us if we told you".
Tara folded her hands "Try me".
"We found the awakening stones inside the wolf's carcass". Luck said .
"Your right" Terra replied evenly "We don't believe you".
Luck seemed to not take offense as he smiled lightly "You see? Anyways, let's see each other's Soul books"
The others nodded at this suggestion.
"I'll go fir-".
*Brrrrrrinnnggggg*
A shrill bell rang through the village causing the demeanor of the entire hall to shift to the negative, gaining an oppressive aura.
"The Monster Hunt's starting early?" Harry asked himself, his confusion quickly morphing into excitement.
"Don't be an idiot!" Terra reprimanded as she slapped him on the back of his head. "The Monster Hunt doesn't start until a week".
Terra's words immediately caused a hushed silence to pervade the air.
If this wasn't the Monster Hunt then that meant...
An actual Monster Horde was attacking the village!
