The entrance to the cave was quick with the spearman being the one who was in front of the group while the gunman was behind, the homemade torch was carried by the second because the hands of the first were carrying the spear with both.
The speed of both was moderate despite the quick strategy of wanting to exterminate the goblins with a fast massacre, the reason was because of the veterans' tips about traps.
The 5 senses were working beyond one hundred percent because of the fear of the traps, which they said were the worst part of having to deal with the small green creatures.
—The path is being quiet for now, we haven't found any enemies.
The first to say this was the black-haired boy holding the torch, the light run was not draining his stamina, the nervousness he had, the excess of thoughts tired him. The burden of having to be fighting for his own life and for that of others was excessive for the first time.
—The first trap is here.
The initial challenge was sharp wooden points positioned to impede the invaders' advance, the way they thought of getting around it was to use their superhuman physiques to jump over the traps.
—Damn, it's a double trap.
Fay's landing was smooth when he jumped over the trap, Jon's was not as smooth as his friend's, his right foot sank into the ground over a hole to be cut by some kind of sharp point.
—I think it's a triple trap.
There were four goblins waiting for the arrival of the invaders at that moment, one was armed with a dagger, another with a spear and the others with a bow and arrow.
Walker had no choice but to suppress the pain he felt in his body to be able to aim the weapon at his enemies, his focus was totally on the archers with arrows pointed at the hunters.
The group's melee fighter was aiming at the spearman of the green monsters, because he would be the first to hit him in case of approaching, the knife opponent would not be a danger in the first seconds.
The trigger was pulled faster than the arrow could be fired, the bullet could not be aimed perfectly at the head or in another vital area with total precision due to the quick judgment he had to make after being injured.
Luck was on his side when he saw blood coming out of his enemy's chest, happiness could not take over his body due to his instincts screaming in his head to move a little.
The hesitation to move was painful because of the feeling of something crossing his right shoulder, the arm was almost useless if he hadn't made a minimal movement.
—The first real fight is scary.
The torch was dropped because of the arrow, the moment it fell was the one in which he did not hesitate to shoot his smiling enemy because of the hit on the human, the shot was made in a cold and technical way.
The smile did not last long after the sound of the shot came out of the firearm and pierced the goblin's head, the eyes did not even have time to close, nor did he have the opportunity to process or know that he was going to die.
—It looks like I'm poisoned.
His gaze quickly went to his spearman friend, the long-bladed weapon quickly thrust towards the green spearman who did not have much to do because of the difference in technique and strength.
The human showed his expertise with the pointed weapon the moment his thrust went through his opponent's head to throw blood everywhere and perform a quick throw at the one with the dagger.
The response of the green monster with the dagger was to let out a final scream after feeling the spear dismembering its interior, the two-handed weapon exploded its heart in a quick and brutal way.
"I would be dead if Jon wasn't here with me, the idea of accompanying him was the best."
The melee weapon hunter quickly looked back and was surprised by the state his friend was in, the arrow lodged in his shoulder and his foot buried in the hole.
—Are we going to have to retreat?
The words came out by reflex from the mouth of the younger explorer with the spear, the concern for his companion was evident.
—No, we would have to retreat if I hadn't asked for the antidote, but we got it and we can proceed.
The arrow was quickly removed by his companion, the hole was inspected to make sure there were no more things and so they did a small checkup to check their own situation.
—I think my strategy of moving quickly was flawed, the rush to save lives put me at risk.
—It wasn't a bad strategy, the problem is that our enemies were prepared for it.
Part of his shirt was torn so he could stop some of the bleeding from his leg after taking the antidote.
—Aren't you going to use the potion to heal your wounds?
—I'll save it for next time, we're still at the beginning of the fight. I feel that I can get hurt more and I don't want to fail to use it at a more opportune moment.
—I get it.
The running pace started again despite being even slower because of the injured leg, the nervousness was reflected the moment drops of sweat came out of their bodies, the accelerated heart rate was just another factor.
—Something is coming!
The scream came from the one holding the torch in his hands, his feeling was that something heavy was approaching at high speed and the impact could be lethal in case it hit one of them.
—Lugh's First Spear...
The spear seemed to shine at that moment when the first form was used, the shaft was held very tightly while the magical power of the light element was imbued.
The heavy object that was coming was the trunk of a tree being thrown at high speed, the trap could really kill the two in an instant in case it hit.
—Impressive.
The staff weapon quickly split that trunk in two the second the blow was executed, the spearman's two hands were shaking because of the burden of executing a blow of that style.
—Brilliant Thrust!
The blow was very beautiful to follow, a weapon that turned into a fierce light capable of splitting even a large wooden trunk being thrown at high speed.
—Something is wro-
Blood was falling on the ground when Fay had noticed the wrong thing, the blood on the ground after not having hit anything other than the trunk that was coming at high speed. His instincts proved to be right, a goblin was above the trunk and had its leg cut by the first spear art, the problem is that it managed to react in time to grab the wooden club to throw it hard at the hunter's head.
—Fay!
His emotions could be telling him to run close to his friend or take a look at him, the point of the matter is when the rational side won. The Colt was quickly aimed at the fallen goblin and fired a direct shot at its head.
Fay had gotten up after a few minutes of being unconscious, his head was bleeding considerably and it seemed that his fighting strength must have decreased.
—I'm not going to use a potion now, I'm sure those monsters have worse traps.
The advance continued even more slowly while they panted due to the stress they were going through, the wounds were ignored to a certain point so that they could proceed.
The duo quickly began to walk paying attention until wooden arrows were being launched from both directions towards both hunters.
—There must be some secret entrance so they can pass by us without us noticing.
—There's no way we can separate because of the torch in my hand.
—The projectiles would be very dangerous in the dark.
Both agreed that they would not separate so that each one would deal with one side, the fear that a secret signal would be sent and the other would be surrounded was great.
—Let's run!
Jon's signal to run was all they needed to start running in the direction of that enemy ahead, the determination in their eyes showed the intact fighting spirit.
—Even this?
The spearman quickly realized the problem when he saw that his legs were bleeding because of the sharp objects made of wood, bones, and other materials.
—Forward!
Walker took the lead for the first time even with the thorns, caltrops or other types of traps that damaged his feet. There was no hesitation in his feet even with that enormous pain throughout his body.
—I'm not going to lose to you in being determined.
Fay forced a smile on his face at the same time he stepped on those clear-minded traps, the spearman and the gunman did not grit their teeth from pain, they gritted their teeth from anger.
The arrows were getting closer and closer to the hunters, the advance did not stop even with death getting closer and closer, the advance seemed to be magically getting faster, determination made them overcome their limits.
The wooden projectiles coming from both directions was causing some to hit, the two were careful that it was never in a vital place or that it affected their battle capacity.
The first to hit was the gunman from another world, it hit him right in the back of his thigh. The second arrow to hit was also him, the right shoulder was perforated, aggravating the previous wound.
The third managed to hit the spearman, his left foot was perforated and the only thing he could do was groan in pain as he continued on his way forward.
The glimpse of the enemy was the hope of both, the weapon was quickly pointed and a direct shot was given so that the wooden projectiles would stop at that moment.
The caltrops hurting their legs also ended after the rain of arrows was over, the sigh was given together even though they were injured and needed treatment.
—This sigh has been too long for us to rest.
—Aren't those guys going to give us a break? My spear will have its revenge here and now.
Seven goblins could be visible at this instant, the 7 were with weapons in their hands to fight. The weapons varied from axes, swords to wooden clubs.
Their physique showed that they were at the peak of their health and only one of them had a wound on his shoulder, the bullet to stop the arrows.
The two adventurers were leaning on each other with blood running from their legs, arrows lodged in various parts of their bodies and extreme fatigue physically or mentally.
One of the axe goblins quickly threw his weapon towards the gunman with the firearm, who reacted at the same instant with the bullet in its head. The two were mutually injured, the green-skinned one died, and the white-skinned one had his right hand made useless.
The two sword goblins quickly jumped towards the injured spearman, his reaction upon observing this and looking at his own state was to quickly throw the spear in the chest of one of them so that the shock would destabilize the other.
—I got it.
The throw of the spear affected the advance of the other one who was using the sword, the time of hesitation was not thrown away at the moment of the spearman's jump to grab the neck of his opponent while immobilizing the hand that held the blade.
—They won't get close to him.
The goblin with the wooden club, another with an axe quickly approached the spearman. The interception came quickly by aiming with precision at the chest of each one, the sound of shots signaled the same moment in which they fell to the ground without the brightness of life.
The monsters' thought quickly worked in a fast way when some picked up stones from the ground, the throw was fast and powerful when the blow hit the unprepared hunters.
The black-haired adventurer had his head hit, the brown-haired one was hit on the arms and chest.
—Covering fire while the others approach.
The danger came at the moment when two figures showed up, one was holding a sword, another was holding a wooden club. The one with the sharp blade managed to deliver a cut to the belly of the boy with the spear, the cut was not deep.
The creature armed with the wooden weapon jumped towards the fallen gunman because of the stone, who had his chest injured when he was hit by the wooden weapon thrown at him.
—Die.
The pain was ignored once again when the trigger was pulled, the tiredness was overcome to give space for anger. The firearm hit the belly region of the small monster, another shot was made and the skull was perforated.
Fay was not very distant at the moment when he held the sword of his fallen enemy, he used it to throw at the monster that managed to hurt him.
—Receive the change for having cut me here.
The sword could not hit the attentive creature, the problem for the monster was that the adventurer grabbed his own spear to execute a quick and decisive blow.
A quick, precise and mortal thrust towards its stomach, the same place as the blade's hit, the blow contained an irony.
—That's how someone's intestine is torn.
The look of the two quickly went in the direction of the remaining creatures, they were trembling because of the brutality and strength of the duo of humans who invaded their nest.
—Goodbye.
—See you never.
The reaction of both was to use their last strengths to deliver a decisive and final blow, the Colt was aimed with an impressive speed, the spear did not waste its time either, the moment of the shot was the same as when the heads of the creatures were exploded by the two weapons.
—Let's take the potion, I can't take it anymore.
—Me neither.
The first to collapse was the one who spoke, the transmigrator from another world who was the most injured in this mortal battle between monsters and humans.
—I'm almost sure we could have died.
—I'm glad I accepted your invitation, my death was certain in case I was alone.
—I'm also happy to have joined you, I don't think I would have survived alone.
The two took a while to advance while they waited for the potion to take effect to regenerate their wounds. The recovery time was spent with useless conversations that only friends would have.
The recovery did not take long to take effect and they went to look for the boys while being careful in case there was another goblin on their back or front.
—I wonder if these boys have already been eaten?
—I hope not, you shouldn't say such a thing at all.
The reprimand came from the spearman to the gunman who only smiled because of it, the whereabouts of the boys were easy to find after a while, their crying guided them to the path.
—We found them.
—It seems that my words to Mary were not an empty promise, we did it!
The surprise is the number of women mixed with the children, the little green monsters had not sacrificed only the little ones.
—These abominations wanted to use them as breeders.
—It's a good thing my spear and your weapon finished them off.
—But I never want to face goblins again.
—Me neither.
The system screen quickly lit up when it saw the 6 children in safety despite the injuries, they were not fatal and they didn't have to worry about that.
