Chapter 53 - Power of the dead, thanks Author-kun!

The awakening of Amatsuhiko brought Haruma an overwhelming sense of security.

Haruma had always been afraid of death, something he had never denied, and it was because of that fear that he once panicked and forgot to take Shisui's body tissue when he was only five years old, regretting it for years afterward.

Because of that same fear, even though he could have awakened the mangekyo much earlier, he dared not take part in the Uchiha Clan Massacre, where three Kage-level powerhouses fought.

He was terrified of dying, he spent nine years perfecting his "Grave Robbery" plan before finally evolving it into the "Leaping over the Dragon's Gate" plan.

From birth until now, Haruma had never taken true risks because he feared death above all else.

As someone who had been an ordinary person in his previous life, now reborn with unimaginable power and surrounded by beauty and strength, his fear of death had only multiplied a hundredfold.

The more wonderful his new life became, the more desperate he was to cling to it.

The birth of Amatsuhiko didn't just make Haruma feel safe, it gave him room to make mistakes.

Before, he would replay every action countless times in his head, preparing for every possible outcome. Every morning he would recall key events from the original timeline, ensuring that his knowledge of them remained sharp.

This relentless caution had protected him until now, but it was exhausting.

Now, that burden was gone.

With Amatsuhiko at in his arsenal, Haruma no longer needed to tread carefully. From this moment onward, he could afford to be bold, reckless, and utterly unrestrained.

For the first time, Haruma understood why every Uchiha who awakened the mangekyo underwent a transformation in temperament. The sudden surge of power changed them, it was only natural.

Anyone who gained five abilities on par with divine powers would inevitably grow arrogant. Even the calm and composed Itachi had carried that arrogance after awakening his eyes. Sasuke, of course, was an even clearer example, barely obtaining his mangekyo before recklessly pushing himself to blindness.

And now, Haruma felt that same intoxicating swell of confidence.

When death no longer posed a threat, it was as if the chains of mortality had been broken. For the first time, he felt utterly free. The only thing that could still restrain him was the passage of time itself.

Fortunately, after two lifetimes, Haruma's mind was strong enough to pull him back from the edge. After a few steadying breaths, the fire in his chest cooled, and he returned to focus.

He took out another corpse from the Uchiha clan, performed Impure World Reincarnation, and then devoured the reanimated body into his refining space.

Inside that ethereal realm, things unfolded differently this time. The supreme power that governed the refining process no longer felt as harsh, it seemed gentler, even deliberate.

Black mist enveloped the reanimated body. Slowly, it dissolved into molecules, which divided into four distinct parts.

The largest portion condensed into a black energy halo, enhancing Haruma's physical and spiritual strength.

The second portion, glowing blue, merged into his soul, increasing its depth and power.

The third formed a small white orb, a "memory sphere," containing the knowledge and experiences extracted from the Uchiha's brain and soul.

And the last fragment became a cluster of pure black light that vanished into the void.

Haruma's consciousness followed that black light from a third-person view, as if travelling down a glowing tunnel before falling like a meteor into a new world, Amatsuhiko's Realm, the space that now existed within his very eyes.

The world he entered resembled a desolate nightmare. The sky was blood-red, heavy with an aura of despair. The air itself carried the chill of the apocalypse. The barren earth stretched endlessly without a single blade of grass, and at its centre stood a lonely mountain, beneath which flowed a river of blood, vast and endless, its crimson waters glimmering under the scarlet sky.

The black light fell into that blood river, rippling the surface.

Moments later, a tombstone rose from the barren ground, the earth swelling into a small grave beneath it.

When Haruma's awareness returned to the real world, he frowned, feeling a faint sting in his left eye. Strange information began flooding his mind, instinctive knowledge of what his left-eye technique could truly do.

"So that's it…" he muttered. "That's the nature of its power."

He whispered the technique's name aloud. "Amatsuhiko's Realm: Resurrection of the Dead."

Light burst from his left eye. The mangekyo sharingan activated, and the power of his left eye surged. His chakra was drained, drawn into the depths of Amatsuhiko's Realm.

Within that crimson dimension, the tombstone began to glow black. The ground trembled and a pale, wax-coloured hand broke through the soil, clawing its way out.

Moments later, a corpse dressed in black, marked with the Uchiha crest, rose from the grave. Unlike the cracked bodies produced by the Edo Tensei, this one was whole. Its skin was pale and lifeless, but its eyes, where empty sockets had been, now glowed with the two tomoe sharingan, the sclera black instead of white.

A rift opened above the grave, a swirling vortex of distorted space. The corpse was pulled upward and vanished.

Back in the real world, space before Haruma twisted into a dark spiral, and the figure of that same corpse emerged, standing silently before him, expressionless, eyes gleaming.

Haruma understood instantly, this was the first function of his left eye's Amatsuhiko.

The ability to summon the devoured dead as puppets to fight under his command.

The summoned corpse had three distinct modes of control.

Puppet Mode — The corpse functioned like an autonomous reanimation. It required no chakra rods or puppet threads; Haruma could control it directly, share its vision, and even speak through it.

Slave Mode — The corpse followed preset commands, attacking instinctively, much like a programmed Impure World Reincarnation subject.

Trainer Mode — Haruma could implant a Wood Clone or another vessel imbued with the target's memories into the corpse, allowing it to act and speak freely—indistinguishable from the living.

While these puppets resembled reanimated shinobi, they held crucial advantages. Their immortality wasn't like that of the Edo Tensei, which could be sealed. Instead, each corpse was tied to a tombstone within Amatsuhiko's Realm. As long as that tombstone existed and Haruma lived, the corpse could always be re-summoned, no matter how many times it was destroyed.

This power wasn't just reanimation, it was conceptual resurrection.

Only one limitation existed, the corpses had no chakra of their own. Haruma had to provide it manually, and he could only imbue as much as the person once possessed in life.

Even so, the potential was overwhelming. For Haruma, who had feared death his entire life, Amatsuhiko's Realm represented ultimate safety, the ability to command death itself.

And for the first time since his rebirth…

Haruma smiled, truly fearless.
