Chapter 11 - Chapter Eleven

Violet got into Victor car and found Alexander seated behind. She joined him in the backseat as Victor turned the car to their destination.

"You should stop having important discussions in your kitchen." Alexander sighed

Violet told, "They won't even understand if they hear. So no harm no foul!"

They found themselves parked behind a warehouse and the doors opened with a woman walking out. She wore a large bright smile and Victor sighed with a frown.

"So how may I help ya, Vic?" she beamed

Victor introduced, "Everyone meet extremes junkie, Gwendolyn Vine. Gwen meet my buddy, Alexander and troublemaker Violet."

"Pleasure to meet you cuties!" She laughed

Her eyes were right green and her blonde hair had several strands of pink. Gwen wore pink overhauls with brown boots and gloves.

"Come into my office." She smiled

They were lead into what could have been a extreme sports hall of fame. Pictures of Gwen's adventures were framed on the walls and different types of gears were displayed as well.

"We'll need rope, climbing gear and some of my favorites." Victor smiled

Gwen frowned, "I thought you run a casino?"

"I do." He answered

The adults looked at each other silently for a moments until Gwen gathered the equipment also a bag and dropped them on the table. Victor took out a thick envelope and pushed it toward her and inside was golden bills.

"Well then. Until next time, Gwendolyn." Victor smiled grabbing their purchases

Gwen watched the car drive away for a moment, she had a thought as worry spread on her face and rushed over to her motorcycle.

Inside the shed, they found a dark hole and couldn't see the bottom. Violet prepared the hooks and other equipment like Gwen taught but Victor stopped her.

"We need to take precautions, just in case." Victor told

The children had already told him about their visit to Miriam's shop and didn't question Alexander how he even knew about such a place. He took out masks that they'd strap onto their head and gloves to avoid fingerprints.

"Thank you!" Violet smiled

She strapped on the purple mask with white petals on the right side while Alexander's mask was dark blue with light blue snowflakes on the left side. Victor's mask was simply red and the children stared at it.

"I don't want any décor. May I have peace now?" He frowned as he jumped down

Alexander helped Violet connecting and steadily slide down into the hole. Victor lit a torch and began looking around the tunnel with interest especially the glass-like pictures on the walls. He was mentally calculating its worth with a hint of happiness.

The children wondered around looking for whatever was important down here that Elizabeth spoke. Victor turned quickly toward a feint sound and pulled out his gun.

"WAIT!" The person screamed "IT'S ME, GWEN!"

Gwendolyn slipped out of the shadows with her arm up and cursed herself for forgetting how good her friend's hear was. She avoided his death stare and looked at the beautiful wall instead.

"Gwendolyn Vine. What is the meaning of this!" Victor asked in a hushed tone with popping veins

Gwen whispered, "I...I was worried-"

"Bullshit!" Victor snapped

Gwen pouted, "I'm telling the truth! Since 'that day' you've been weird and I wanted to help."

Victor looked at his hyperactive, nosy friend and wondered how they survive 7 years. He sighed saying that he has rotten luck and Gwen flared up.

"It's me who's unlucky to have a friend like you who only cares about money!" She roared

Victor snorted, "At least I'm not obsessed with jumping off cliffs. Between the both of us I will definitely live longer."

Gwen was tongue-tied with rage and Alexander saw a light. He pulled Violet toward, the action caught the adults attention and they followed as well and they were speechless. A large room destroyed by what could only be the work of a bomb.

The walls were scorched black and the rubble scattered around. Their eyes were drawn to the darkest area where an undamaged piece of paper was on the floor within the circle of destruction covered by a thin blue dome.

"Well, I'll crack it open." Victor told

He paused for moment and tossed Gwen a white strap on mask and urged her to put it on. Victor flicked his hands and two large fire hands appeared above the dome. Alexander and Violet were more shocked than the unreal scenery.

"How!" Violet questioned

Victor shrugged, "I used both methods. Using only one didn't fell right so I followed my gut."

He wiggled his fingers and the flame hands followed his action. Next moment the fire hands sprouted claws and struck a single area of the dome. A gust of raw ether pushed outward in protest and Victor channeled more of his ether.

"Why is he so good at this?" Alexander frowned

Victor answered, "I wonder."

They all saw his lips tilt upward in a smug manner and felt their rage rise for some reason. A loud crack echoed as the claws broke into the dome and fire hands vanished. The group circled around the paper in interest. The page read:

There are several creatures, items and more hidden in this world

But among them there are few terrifying, dangerous and powerful ones

Make sure to not look for them nor wonder where they maybe

They were not meant to be used by anyone

I was warned and didn't listen in search of adventure

Now it has coat me and I warn you too

The name of my interest that ended a thousand-year dynasty

A treasure like no other that provides infinite ether and corrupts minds

The Orb of Luna

If it appears again...I wish you safety

"Oh my, seems I have company down here."

They looked at a woman in a pink mermaid dress and a soft smile. Several bubbles surrounded the unknown person but the pressure coming from her proved she was a threat.

The woman smiled, "Is that a map to the Orb?"

Gwen frowned, "Would you believe us if we said no."
