Chapter 4 - Adventure 4: Heaven Over Hell

Flying through the rift, Iramo felt as if he had been teleported to a whole new world. Getting his first look at Cerinta. Seeing the base of the mountains shaped like twin flower's with spiraling roots. Towering high above the ground.

Reaching higher into the sky with petals perfectly intertwined standing tall. Creating walls for the hidden beauty it carried deep within – Centria. A massive land filled with life as far as the eye can see. With endless unique buildings spread across the lands. Each one telling its own story.

Such a difference from the world I was met with when I first opened my eyes. Was it really the same? Even the land beneath the mountains has no monsters in sight. Such a blissful place so full of opportunity and life. I wonder what else this lovely place has to offer me?

Taken back by the sight of Centria's beauty. Iramo says to Saranai "Are you sure you want to leave here? This safe haven is far away from the shit show going on outside. All the blood lusted creatures that roam outside this place and you want to go back there? Are you kidding me!

This place is amazing! If this place were my home I'd never wanna leave."

Saranai, rolling her eyes, looks at Cerinta with a heavy heart. As she responds to Iramo "It definitely beats dying to those things roaming around out there sure. But this place is nothing more than a tiny fraction of everything there is out there. There's so much more to explore in life! So many more things to experience! Yet I'm stuck here where the strong have a voice and the weak are never free."

With a burning passion in her eyes, Saranai turns to Iramo. looking him in the eyes as she says "To claim all life has to offer, No to to truly live! I won't be another weakling at the mercy of anyone. I'll show them even the weakest of us can grow to be strong. Stronger than all of them. No, stronger than anyone. Because – I'll have the strength to be myself. No matter what anybody says, that is real strength. The only strength that should matter."

Putting his right hand on her head. Iramo says "No strength besides your own will ever matter. You have to truly believe in yourself. As long as you have the will to keep going no matter what happens. No matter what anyone says. No matter how weak you are, you will grow strong. No matter how far you've fallen you will reach back, going further than ever before."

Looking at her with confidence Iramo reassures Saranai "As long as you're alive – you will always have another chance." As he moves his other hand forgetting for a moment he was holding Saranai. He points to the stars as she vanishes from his sight.

Falling through the sky, Saranai screams as she plummets straight towards Cerinta "Ahh!!!" Bawling her eyes out. Saranai cries covering her eyes as she continues screaming."I can't die like this! I'm too pretty! I haven't even got married yet! No, NO, NOOO!!!!"

Forming his flying fist. Iramo races to Saranai, fighting to reach her before she hits the ground. Struggling to make the fist go down faster. Iramo makes the winds within it more compact, in hopes to make it heavy enough to cut through the wind. Giving the boost needed to reach her.

Extending the wrappings used to control the fist. As a rope, Iramo closes the gap between them. Reaching out and grabbing Saranai by the waist with his right hand. Iramo pulls her close to his chest and says "See no big deal. I just have to be a little more creative next time. Before you know … bringing someone else along for a ride."

Crying into his chest, Saranai holds on tight as she says "Never again! You won't get me to set foot onto that death trap with you! Never! Again!" Struggling to control his speed Iramo says "We'll you won't be able to if we're both dead now will you? But lucky for you I'm here! So you'll definitely get home safe."

With no idea how to slow down in time Iramo thinks to himself. "Damn it! I've come too far to splatter across the ground. Now think Iramo! Think! How do I stop myself? Oh yea! I can turn into the wind."

"Wait no, there's no way she survives this on her own. Ok, Think … Think. Fuck it no time! First time for everything I got this just gotta be creative. Yea I can do this!"

I'll release all the built up pressure gradually so Saranai doesn't get split in two. While I make another hand to grab onto the fist to slow it down as much as I can. As long as I can slow the landing enough I can get down to Centria alive with Saranai of course. Perfect, now let's see how well it works."

Holding onto Saranai tight. I turn my lower half into wind, slamming my feet into the fist. Absorbing the rough winds as they push back against me. To add to my own as I push back hard with my left hand. Turning it grey to absorb even more of the winds. Slowing it down but not enough. Facing his left hand down to the ground. Iramo says "Welp, extreme times call for extreme measures."

Releasing all the winds he's stored up until now. Iramo does one last push, slowing the fist to the pace of his winds. Merging them into one as he closes his eyes. Visualizing a cushion made from clouds. Soft enough to absorb an impact yet thick enough to withstand a fall without falling apart.

Shaping it as one of the flower petals of the mountain, surrounding Centria. Iramo focuses on the quality of the clouds. Afraid Saranai would fall through if he made the cloud too thin. He filled the cloud with his energy to stabilize it. As they slowly descend to the ground.

Letting the wind guide the petal as it blows through Centria. Iramo feeling drowsy from the constant use of his power.Throws himself onto his back laying on top of the cloud. Bringing Saranai down on top of him with her eyes closed. As she realizes she's still alive Saranai opens her eyes looking up at Iramo with tear filled eyes. "So you let me fall just to scare me! You're heartless. You scared me half to death."

Laying with his arms hanging to his side Iramo says "Oh come on it wasn't that bad. Not like you died or anything. We're still here aren't we? And look for yourself, we made it. We'll land soon and go back to your place just like we planned."

Blushing as she punches him in his chest she says "Don't say it like that! People will get the wrong idea!"

Holding his chest in pain. Iramo says "Ow! Understood boss lady. Damn you hit hard!"

With a stern look Saranai adds "And until you learn to control those powers of yours. I'm not setting foot back in the air with you. I mean it."

Rolling his eyes, Iramo responds "Yea, yea! I heard you the first time, boss lady."

Hearing commotion below Saranai peaks over the edge. Seeing droves of people gathered around below. Watching them as they land on top of a building. Curious about the massive cloud that fell from the sky. The crowd murmured as everyone in the crowd took turns guessing what it could be.

"Do you think it's an enemy?"

"Impossible no enemy could enter unnoticed! Especially from above, the generals would never allow it."

"What if it's an other worlder? What if it's him returning to end us all!"

"What another one, no way! This has to be some rare change in the weather."

Yea it must be! How else could a cloud fall out of the skies all the way down here."

Giggling as he sits up, Iramo says "Sounds like everyones excited to see us."

Seeing the soldiers approaching the crowd Saranai says "Not everyone. Come on, we gotta go."

Wanting to explore the city Iramo asks "Huh? Why? We just got here? And look at how many people came to say hi. A few minutes won't hurt."

Looking annoyed Saranai puts her finger on Iramo's lips stopping him from talking as she says "Shush. Soldiers are coming and they don't exactly take well to people falling from the skies. Especially somebody who looks completely different falling down from the sky. They will think you're an out worlder and definitely not a friendly one. Now come on, we gotta go before they find us."

Accepting his defeat Iramo moves Saranai's hand saying "Whatever you say then boss lady. Don't worry about getting away, I've got a plan. All you have to do is lead the way and I'll get us out of here."

Smiling at Iramo, Saranai thinks to herself "He's so dependable. We can do anything together, I just know it! If he says he's got a plan I'll trust him."

Responding to Iramo, Saranai says "Exactly what I wanted to hear. Let's do it!"

As he rises to his feet wasting no time. Iramo puts both his hands together. Channeling his energy into his hands as he closes his eyes. Imagining an orb of thick fog. Opening his hands wide. Iramo channels the wind into between both hands. Shaping the winds into an orb packed with thick fog. Iramo throws it straight into the sky with his left hand. Drawing the eyes of everyone in the crowd onto it. As it burst open covering the entire area in fog so thick they could barely see the person next to them.

Iramo, proud of his work, calls out to Saranai "All done! Come on your turn. Let's go quickly while they're distracted."

Putting her hands out to feel around Saranai says "I can't see a thing. Ok change of plans then! Uh Let's see-" Touching the band on her left hand with two fingers. She pulls them back, holding a green light between her thumb and index finger. Squishing it then opening up her fingers to reveal a green lens.

Putting the lens over her eyes as her band glows blue. She turns to Iramo and says "There we go now. Now! Let's get out of here! Go left, towards the big spiral shaped building."

Ducking under Saranai going in between her legs. Iramo picks Saranai up, carrying her with his arms wrapped around her thighs. As she puts her both arms around Iramo's neck he says "Hold on tight."

Turning his feet grey as he firmly grasps the cloud with his right foot. Putting pressure onto the cloud. He twists his foot swiftly releasing the gentle breeze within the cloud. Carrying the thick fog in all directions slowly as it blows across Centria.

Iramo takes the opportunity to leap across the winds as the people run away blinded in panic. Making sure to not go up too high. Iramo makes his way to the building. Running across the clouds he reaches the spiral building as Saranai says "You're doing great! Next go right down to the river and go down it until you see the open fields. Once you're there, look for a big black tree. You can't miss it."

"Sounds simple enough. Let's do it." Iramo says as he outruns the fog, crossing over into the open district up ahead. He bounces around, leaping from building to building. Turning to Saranai as people watch from below. Iramo says "You know, you're a lot lighter than you look."

Staring with pure rage in her eyes Saranai says "You jerk! What kind of backhanded compliment is that!" Slapping him across the face leaving a red mark on the right side of his face.

Worried he'll get hit again, Iramo says "Lighten up boss lady, I'm just messing with you. No need for violence." Annoyed Saranai says "Whatever, just hurry up and get there already you - buttface!" Tightening her arms around his neck.

Excited to see what awaits at her place. Iramo smiles as he says "I was thinking the same thing. Let's get going then!"

As he runs reaches the river. Running over the sparkling green water. Iramo thinks to himself "You know this is the perfect time to see if I can use fire too!"

Focusing on the feeling of the flames he felt before. Iramo makes tiny clouds filled with fire all around him. That spread along the river as they blow in the wind. Slowly falling down as they spread along the river. As they touch the water, the clouds burst open becoming massive clouds of smoke. Spreading all around them as they make their way down the river.

Hearing soldiers rushing to the river side. Investigating the plume of smoke that grew in the distance. Iramo got another idea. Wait a minute. If that worked then I can definitely use the lighting. Imagining himself running faster and faster becoming a blur in the distance. He squints his eyes, focusing only on the surge of energy building within him. Causing his eyes to become cloudy once more.

As their purple center sharpens, growing darker. The outer region of his eye grows grey as he begins to zip through the air. Going so fast Saranai can do nothing but put her head into his back as she tightens her grip on him. Wrapping her legs around him afraid she'll fall as he clears the river in seconds crossing into the farm lands.

Spotting the tree in the distance. Iramo slams his feet into the ground trying to slow himself down as he comes in hot. Dragging them through the dirt as he loses momentum. Knocking him off his feet, sending him spinning into the tree.

Knowing he can't stabilize in time he grabs onto Saranai, shielding her from the impact. Hitting his back hard against the tree. Iramo feels a sharp pain rupture through his body. As he slips in and out of consciousness. Hearing Saranai's voice call out to him "Are you okay? Get up! Iramo! Iramo!"
