Ringo was pensive, he had just hung up with Ames, but he wasn't thinking about her. Instead, he was thinking about Han Xiao.
The reason? He remembered that not long after Han Xiao joined the Floating Dragon, he was targeted by Dark Star, not only them, but all the mercenaries who left with him, all because of the black orb containing the mutation source. Dark Star wouldn't stop until they recovered it. Ringo himself was targeted, if it weren't for his strength and Ames' support, the leader of Dark Star would have already acted against him again.
When Ringo retrieved the Black Orb containing the mutation source of the Dark Star ship's, no one saw him, but just because he could be one of the culprits, Dark Star still sent the organization's second-in-command after him. Now, with the mercenaries, it would be no different, it was better to kill 100 than to lose one, that was Dark Star's policy.
Even if they offended other local forces, no one could do anything to them because of the strength of their top members and the organization's concealment mechanism, thus, as long as they didn't involve civilizations at the level of a star cluster or higher, Dark Star could overcome anyone.
Ringo had already taken control of a large part of the organization, but when he left, he didn't leave any clones behind. Without his instructions, those guys wouldn't offer any resistance to the Leader's orders, so the chance of Han Xiao being attacked again was very high.
In the original story, Ames went to help Han Xiao because of Aesop, after all, she still had to find the old man. This time, Han Xiao was just a minor subordinate to her, and the chance of her helping him was incredibly small.
Han Xiao couldn't die, not before helping him escape this 'universe', so he needed to find a way to help Han Xiao or prevent him from leaving the Floating Dragon.
However, if he stopped Han Xiao, it could delay him and lead to serious consequences, which only caused Ringo more trouble.
He wasn't without solutions, he could ask Ames to help Han Xiao directly, and he was almost certain she would agree, but he was Ames's subordinate, not the other way around. Acting this way, making random requests, seemed completely wrong.
Ames might not say anything, but her favorability could drop because of it.
He could ask Austin for help, but he already owed the man too much, and besides, if Ames found out that he asked Austin for help and not her, especially to save one of her subordinates, she would be even angrier.
Given Ames' personality, she might get annoyed that he made her save some random 'recruit,' and she'd also be annoyed that he asked another BGA for help behind her back.
In the end, Ringo couldn't simply ignore the woman's feelings, but it was while he was thinking that he sensed something was wrong.
Wasn't he looking for a cat to deal with the rat? But why did it have to be a cat? Just another rat, bigger and stronger, that held enough resentment towards Dark Star would have sufficed.
Ringo grinned and gave a wicked little laugh.
He picked up his communicator and called a number he hadn't used since receiving it.
Moments later, the golden figure with pointed ears looked at Ringo in surprise. He was completely confused as to why this person was calling him. If he hadn't known that Ringo was Ames' subordinate, along with his close relationship with Black Spider, he wouldn't have even answered.
-Mr. Jones, can I help you with something?- The godorian asked, still confused.
-Serbia, right? Well, I have some important information here about the Dark Star, would you like to know more?- Ringo smiled at him.
Serbia felt a little unhappy when Ringo called him directly by his name, but he wouldn't say anything. After all, regardless of Ringo's status or background, he could call him that without consequences. Even so, to Serbia, Ringo was just a subordinate of a BGA, and so what if he were a Grade A? He had several Grade A officers below him, and besides, he himself addressed Ringo as 'Mr.', clearly being polite first. Yet this guy still called him directly by his name? What a jerk.
However, when he heard Ringo talking about the Dark Star, Serbia's unhappy mood vanished immediately, instead, he became completely serious.
-What information? Mr. Jones, if your information is truly important, we can pay very well for it.- The Dark Star had always been the most irritating thorn in Godora's side, any information about it, however small, was important to them.
-I have information that a large Dark Star detachment is going to attack a certain group, although I don't know the exact location. If you follow this group in secret, you could really profit a lot this time.- Ringo continued.
He didn't really care much about the benefits Godora wanted to give him, but if he acted as if he were giving away information for free, Serbia might treat it as deception, so he had to pretend he was doing it for profit.
Serbia narrowed his eyes. - How big?
-I can't say for sure, but at least one Grade A will participate, an entire fleet will be involved.- Ringo shrugged, leaving that sort of thing to Serbia to figure out.
Serbia took a deep breath, this information, if correct, would be very worthwhile. - What do you want?
-Planets, I need at least 50 planets with strong radiation, of at least medium size.- Ringo explained.
Serbia's lips trembled: Why don't you go and steal?!
Even when ordering this type of planet, which isn't very expensive, were they all medium-sized? Damn, that would cost several billion Enas, okay? You can talk all you want, but not that much!
Serbia frowned, thought for a moment, and spoke. - 30! That's the most I can accept parting with!
-Deal! - Ringo accepted with a smile.
Serbia: ...so you just threw out a high number, right? You didn't even negotiate! Can't you at least pretend to be dissatisfied? You really don't care about my feelings! Son of a bitch!
