Emily's heart skipped a beat and, without processing the question, she hurriedly shook her head.
"No, I don't," she clipped, her cheeks blushing with embarrassment as she lowered her head.
The truth was simple, she didn't "know" design. Not formally. Not academically. She only knew that the piece displayed on the projector was beautiful… and that with a few subtle adjustments, it could become extraordinary.
Kate ignored her protest, her gaze not moving away from the projector.
"Take a good look at it carefully," she began, then lifted the coffee to take a sip. She savoured the taste for a moment before she set the cup down.
Emily's gaze trailed across the screen, calm and collected. Her brain raced with suggestions as she mentally rearranged the piece into something else.
Kate's voice filtered through the wide office. "Can you suggest any changes to it that would make it exceptional?" she asked slowly.
Emily swallowed, yet doubt crept into her heart. "Can I really suggest?"
