Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Bringing Him Home

When Kira heard this from her mother, her eyelids drooped, already knowing the reason behind her mother's concern.

She looked at Mrs. Samuels and gently said, "Mom, you shouldn't worry. I'm fine."

Mrs. Samuels raised an eyebrow and shot her a skeptical look, clearly unconvinced. Pointing a finger, she said, "You went to warn him to stay away from you, and now you say you're fine? Kira, he's your mate. He doesn't deserve to be treated that way."

Mrs. Samuels clutched her dress nervously, her face creased with worry.

Kira offered her a sweet, reassuring smile. Then, suddenly, she promised, "I'm going to treat him better."

Mrs. Samuels exhaled a breath she hadn't realized she'd been holding. She didn't know how to make Kira treat her supposed mate better, but since Kira had agreed, a flicker of relief washed over her. She then said softly, "Go ahead. We'll have dinner soon."

Kira turned to greet her father with a quick nod, then headed upstairs. But as she entered her room, her smile stiffened, and anger flickered across her face. Without a word, she leapt out of the window and ran into the woods.

When she emerged from the trees, she found herself back on the street she'd visited last night. Without hesitation, she made her way toward the bar and stood at the door.

With a swift kick, she burst open the door and strode inside, unbothered by the stares and surprised looks from those inside.

Her gaze immediately locked onto Pascal, who leaned casually against the bar, tapping his finger on the counter while his other arm rested on the surface. A knowing smile played on his lips.

"I'm here to see you," Kira said coldly, then turned sharply and walked out, heading toward a shadowed corner out of sight.

Soon, Pascal stepped out of the bar, a bottle of beer in hand. He approached Kira with a smile.

"Little girl, do you want a bottle?" he asked casually.

Kira wasn't in the mood for nonsense. Without hesitation, she swung a punch at him. Pascal had anticipated her move the moment she stormed out rudely, and he quickly stepped back, avoiding her attack entirely.

Undeterred, Kira followed up with a swift swerve kick. The two moved with lightning speed—Kira aggressive, Pascal retreating, trying to avoid a direct clash. As he kept backing away, Pascal continued to speak, a teasing tone in his voice.

"My darling, a lady should act demure and well-behaved—not like a thug throwing punches at every provocation. That's not very lady-like, my dear."

Hearing this, Kira paused her assault, her expression turning cold. She sneered at him.

"I see right through you," she spat. "You're just trying to get my parents to talk me into accepting your sorry ass. Keep dreaming. It's not going to happen, motherfucker."

Pascal spread his arms with a grin.

"If it isn't working, you wouldn't be here trying to murder me."

Kira's eyes narrowed, irritation flashing across her face. She was desperate to land a punch, her anger boiling over. But Pascal, confident and cautious, kept his distance. There was little she could do.

Turning away, she headed toward the woods. Pascal didn't follow, but called out after her with a teasing tone.

"My Luna, don't forget to dream about me."

Suddenly, Kira's eyes flashed bright blue. Without warning, she spun around and sped toward Pascal. Before he could react, she was upon him, grasping both his arms with extraordinary speed. His eyes widened in shock as her fierce expression and piercing gaze struck him with an unsettling intensity.

Her voice, cold and commanding, echoed in his ears.

"Don't ever call us that!"

Then, abruptly, Kira released him, touching her head as if in pain. Her face contorted with confusion and distress. Pascal stood there, stunned, unable to comprehend what had just transpired.

Without waiting, Kira spun around and hurried back home. She slipped through the window into her room, then got up to unlock the door, yawning softly. "Mom, I'm sorry. I was deep asleep and didn't hear you knocking."

Mrs. Samuels's lips twitched slightly as she observed her daughter. She knew Kira had an extraordinary ability to hear even the faintest whispers from thousands of kilometers away—even her heartbeat. The droplets of water on Kira's hair indicated she had been in the woods, which only heightened Mrs. Samuel's suspicion. She already knew what Kira had been up to.

Looking at her daughter, Mrs. Samuels asked with a tone of certainty, "You ran over there to threaten him?"

Kira forced a smile and quickly retorted, "Of course not. I have a boyfriend, Mom."

Mrs. Samuels raised an eyebrow, her suspicion deepening. She didn't believe her daughter for a second. Frustrated, Kira muttered, "I'll bring him home tomorrow."

Mrs. Samuels didn't press further. Instead, she simply said, "I'll be expecting both of you."

They left Kira's room and sat down for dinner as a family. Mr. Samuels hardly spoke during the meal.

The next day at school, Clifford adjusted his glasses and tossed his bag over his shoulder, eager to get back to his apartment and attend to some pressing matters.

As he stepped out of the classroom, he was suddenly grabbed roughly. His face changed dramatically as he instinctively raised his hand to block his glasses.

Kira, noticing his reaction, rolled her eyes and tugged him along. "Come with me," she said coldly.

Clifford was speechless at her actions. He always thought she hated boys and avoided physical contact, yet Kira kept surprising him every time they met.

"Where are you taking me?" Clifford asked, both curious and nervous. He worried that Kira's mischievous side was at play again.

Kira stopped and faced him directly. "You're my boyfriend, aren't you? Where else would I take you?"

Clifford stiffened, realizing that whenever Kira called him her boyfriend, trouble was probably brewing. Panic crept into his voice. "Can you stop using me as a shield? Everyone seems to hate me."

Kira didn't mind his words. She simply shrugged and said nonchalantly, "That's what love sacrifices for. It's nothing."

Clifford's lips twitched. The number of students eager to beat him up had quadrupled, but to Kira, it was all just part of the game.

He was forced onto the school bus. When it pulled up at Kira's house, he turned to her, puzzled. "What are we doing here?"

"Meeting my parents," Kira replied casually.
