Chapter 22 - Chapter 22-Behind the Smile

For now, Eren didn't think about any of it.

He turned around and started walking away, his face calm and blank like always.

Yuna hurried after him still teasing.

"Hey are you seriously ignoring me now too "

Eren replied without looking back,

"You talk too much."

Yuna laughed. "Wow, rude."

Behind them Kael stood still.

He didn't move.

He didn't blink.

His eyes followed Eren slowly as he walked away.

There was something sharp in his gaze deep, focused, dangerous but Kael himself didn't notice how dark and dangerous he looked in that moment.

He only whispered,

"…Eren."

By the time Eren disappeared around the corner, Kael finally turned away.

Eren walked toward the library, wanting silence and space.

Just as he reached the entrance, his phone vibrated.

It was his mom"Eren, make sure you come home before dinner today Your dad is coming back from his business trip."

Eren stopped walking.

The noise around him faded.

His fingers tightened slightly around the phone.

"…Dad's back," he murmured.

After a few seconds, he replied "Okay "

He put the phone away and walked inside the library.

His face looked normal, but his mind wasn't calm anymore.

That same night…

Kael stood inside an empty, broken factory on the edge of the city.

The place was dark and quiet, only the sound of the wind passing through cracked windows.

He wore a black hoodie.

A lollipop rested between his lips.

His hands were in his pockets, his posture relaxed — almost lazy.

In front of him sat the same alpha from Sky High Bar, tied to a chair.

Kael stepped forward and removed the blindfold.

The boy's eyes widened with anger.

"You! You psycho let me go!" he shouted.

Kael tilted his head.

"So much energy… "than he giggled softly that look anger tied up boy in chair .

The boy kept yelling Threats. Curses. Promises of revenge.

Kael listened quietly, then smiled.

"You talk a lot," he said. "It's annoying."

The boy glared at him.

"When I get out of here, you're dead."

Kael's smile faded.

"Boring," he said calmly.

The room fell into silence.
