Chapter 5 - Admit that you want me

The cold water trickling over his skin was not helping Jace cool down and he turned off the shower, totally frustrated as he walked out with only a towel wrapped around his waist.

He recognized the familiar heat and unfiltered desire that coursed through his body as he struggled to breathe evenly.

He was in a rut.

All his mind could focus on was the urge to get laid and satisfy the persistent itch in his groin but the problem was that the only person he wanted to lay with was Lucian.

Normally, he could have found a willing omega but the mate bond he had with a certain annoying alpha didn't make the option appealing.

As if on queue, Lucian walked through the door to his room, smirking knowingly as he looked at him, his smoky grey eyes intense.

"You want me." Lucian's voice was low and husky as he took slow steps towards him and Jace felt his restraint slip as the familiar scent of scandalwood enveloped him in a warm haze.

"No, I don't. I hate you." He tried to deny the fact that wanted to pounce on the approaching alpha and have his naughty way with him.

Lucian briefly paused in his steps, his smoky grey eyes flickering with mischief.

"Then, I will leave." The alpha shrugged and turned around to walk out.

Before he could comprehend what he was doing, Jace ran and wrapped his arms around Lucian, his chest colliding with the alpha's back.

"Don't.....go." Jace could barely recognize his voice as he parted his lips, his teeth softly nibbling on Lucian's neck, the urge to mark his mate intensifying.

Jace knew his head was clouded by desire and his mind was temporarily switched off as he made Lucian face him, his lips hungrily kissing a trail up to the Alpha's jaw.

Lucian's hand in his hair pulled Jace back, putting some space between their faces right before their lips met.

"If you want me to stay, admit that you want me." Lucian's voice was stern yet coaxing as his ashen grey eyes gazed into Jace's dazed ones.

"I...I want..." Jace stuttered, a breath away from admitting and giving in to his desire.

His heart beat was erratic as his eyes flew open, immediately sitting up in bed and glancing around to make sure that he was only dreaming and Lucian was not in his room.

He was momentarily relieved once he found no signs of his mate but his eyes widened slightly as he looked at his hard and erect manhood that was standing tall beneath the sheets.

Jace sighed as he got out of bed, bothered by the fact that he could have told Lucian what he wanted to hear if his dream had lasted a second longer.

The fact that he could have willingly jumped into his number one enemy's arms during a moment of weakness troubled him as he drew his curtain, relieved that it was already dawn and he didn't have to go back to sleep.

Jace didn't particularly fancy anymore lewd dreams about Lucian although a part of him that recognized the alpha as a mate was a little excited.

Lucian was responsible for breaking his family and now that the annoying alpha was effortlessly wreaking havoc in his dreams, Jace decided he needed to act fast and eliminate him.

"You don't look well rested. Did you have trouble sleeping?" Axel wriggled his brows teasingly as he watched the Alpha that was descending the stairs.

Jace shot him a LOOK that was enough for the beta to worry for his life.

"Tell me about that plan you promised to make. Any progress." Jace got straight to business as he joined his best friend at the breakfast table.

He figured he could sleep much better once he got rid of Lucian.

"Yes. This first step might sound ridiculous but considering how easily Lucian pinned you down yesterday, I think it is a necessity." Axel admitted and Jace wasn't particularly happy at being reminded of his defeat.

"What is the first step?" He swallowed his injured pride and asked.

"Combat training." Axel replied and Jace quirked up a brow in disbelief.

"Like military boot camp?" Jace asked.

"Something similar but less intense. You just need to learn a few self defense tactics." Axel explained patiently and Jace's eyes burned with determination.

He could do anything to defeat Lucian in combat.

"And how long is this training going to take?" Jace asked, feeling excited and momentarily forgetting about his broken arm.

"At least two weeks but you need to heal first before we go." Axel pointed out and Jace's enthusiasm slowly vanished, finding one more reason to get back at Lucian for breaking his arm.

"So, what will we be doing in the meantime?" Jace asked.

"You should consider taking a more active role in your company while we watch Lucian's every move, waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike." Axel suggested and Jace smiled faintly appreciative for his sharp best friend.

"What if the perfect opportunity arrives and I am not yet ready?" Jace was genuinely concerned but Axel offered him a comforting smile.

"There will be lots of perfect opportunities but you will have to remain patient. It could take months for the whole plan to play out." Axel advised and Jace's brows furrowed into a small frown as he absorbed the information.

"I hate waiting." He eventually grumbled and Axel couldn't help chuckling at the impatient Alpha.

"Trust me, I know." Axel admitted and Jace found himself smiling, feeling much happier than he had been the previous day.

"I will wait." Jace's voice was low but certain and Axel was genuinely proud of his friend as they continued to dine in a comfortable silence.

....

Kyle's sky blue eyes flickered with unfazed determination as he looked through the file which contained the basic data on Lucian that a private investigator had gathered.

Impressed with the dangerous yet interesting life of his love interest, Kyle decided it was time to start his pursuit for Lucian's heart.
