Chapter 13 - Chapter 12- Children of Demon Killers

The men who helped clean the area had conversations with each other. "I wish we could drug them or something," a fisherman said.

"How are we going to do that?" asked another fisherman.

"If I had my tranquilizer gun, I would use it today," a scientist said.

"Why have you ever needed a tranquilizer gun?" a fisherman asked.

"I am a scientist," he said. "My job is to make sure the animals are healthy, so I shoot them with the tranquilizer dart and inspect their health."

Captain Chez asked the scientist, "Do you hate your job, son?

You describe it as a punishment."

The scientist continued, "The truth is that I am a marine biologist. Three years ago, when those criminals started to destroy businesses, at the same time, the government gave us a grant to study payara, the fish. An idiot reporter from DUN News Channel con- fused those notorious felons with the sea creature. The idiot wrote that the government is funding the terrorist group. The next day, my boss told me to focus more on the endangered panthera genus."

"What?" Conner asked, wanting to attack the scientists. "You work for the Ramian Government, boy."

"Oh no, we specialize in big cats such as lions and tigers," the scientist explained, "and panthera means panther in Latin."

Ramzy, the historian, stood behind him, looking nervous. He wanted to say something, but he did not dare until he took a deep breath. "Ricky." The friend started to get some courage to talk. "I know where the tranquilizer guns are." The man exhaled again. "They are here."

"How are they here?" Ricky said. "They have been missing for the last two days."

"Lucy, your wife stole and hid them under her desk."

"Why did you not tell me this? I looked for them the last two days."

"I do not want to leave my family that fast. It is Peacetime," the other biologist, Charles, said. "We only stayed a day, and you want us to start another trip. It is not my fault that you hate your wife, but I love enjoying my time with my wife and children."

"I love my wife, but she drives me crazy."

"Does your wife work here?" Another man interrupted their conversation with a big smile.

Ricky remembered what Ramzy had told him, that the guns were in the building, and got angry. "The tranquilizer guns are here. I looked for them for the last two days. Afterward, I wrote a letter to request another one. Does she know this is government property?" Ricky went to the museum.

"Does she think any store in any street corner has them?"

When he arrived at the museum, Ricky marched to his wife so loudly that everyone in the museum could hear him. "Lucy, where is the equipment?"

Lucy saw her fuming husband. "I don't have them," she said from behind the cashier.

"I know you have it. Charles and Ramzy told me. I need them so we can go home."

"Okay, okay… I will give it to you." "I thought you said, 'I don't have it.'"

Lucy started to cry. "I want to go home too. I want you to stay longer with me."

"This stuff makes me want to leave you. You drive me insane." She gave him the bag that was hidden under the cashier. She cried at his hurtful comments, but Ricky's heart started to harden toward her.

"We will talk about this later." Ricky picked up his equipment bag and stormed back to the fisherman area. He exited the museum as fast as he entered it.

While Ricky was bringing his equipment from the museum, the restaurant manager and his team cleaned the second floor. He made the pathway so that people could move around the mall. They then went to the first floor to rest.

Madonna and Sammy witnessed Ricky and Lucy's fight. They saw Ricky storm out with a large bag, and Lucy crying hysterically. Madonna went to Lucy to calm her down, and Lucy told her why he was angry. Lucy complained that he had changed his job and traveled too much because the ignorant DUN reporter wrote that the government was funding the Payaras gang. Still, the grant was supposed to study the payara fish, so the museum told him to help Charles with the panthera genera grant when the government refused to give him the money.

Sammy eavesdropped on their conversation. His eyes lit up, and he ran to Wendy to use her satellite phone again.
