Chapter 6 - Talent

Dean Tungus turned around and walked to a dead corner in the reception room. There was a gray brick wall. Logically speaking, there was no way to go and there was nothing.

But Dean Tungus whispered something, then he reached into a wall brick and took out a bottle of emerald green potion in a special glass bottle.

The color of this potion is very special. The overall tone is emerald green, but it contains stars inside, which is magnificent.

Dean Tungus hesitated for a moment, but still carefully opened the wooden cork on the bottle of medicine.

Elemental Emerald Potion is extremely expensive and rare, so each bottle is very precious. That is why Aurelian College needs a complex selection mechanism to save the use of Elemental Emerald Potion.

Dean Tungus added a drop of blood he had taken from Locke's right index finger, then gently shook the bottle, silently counted seven breaths, and then turned and handed the bottle to Locke. "Drink it immediately. After two hundred breaths, the potion will be past its optimal use time, and the test accuracy will drop significantly."

"Also, this bottle of elemental jade potion is worth 5 magic stones."

"You must pay for this test yourself."

"You don't have to pay now. When you have the magic stone in the future, you must repay it. In the wizarding world, everything must be exchanged for an equal value."

"Nothing is free."

Locke took the emerald element potion without hesitation and drank it in one gulp.

Given his current situation, Dean Tungus has no need to deceive himself.

The next moment, Locke felt his eyes were very cool, as if something was constantly drilling into his eye sockets, as if countless insects were rushing to drill into his eyes.

He couldn't help but let out a muffled groan.

After taking the potion, the scene in Locke's eyes changed drastically in just a few seconds.

Dean Tunguska's voice calmly reached his ears, guiding him to understand the current situation. "Don't be nervous. Relax."

"The Elemental Jade Potion will strengthen your mental fluctuations. In layman's terms, it will make your mental power more active."

"Therefore, for a very short period of time, due to the activation of your mental power, you will activate [Elemental Vision], which means you can see the elements in the air."

"Generally speaking, the more elements you see in the air and the more obvious they are, the higher your wizard talent is."

"Of course, your body won't be able to adapt to this change in vision for a while. Tell me, Locke, what do you see right now?"

Locke raised his head, trying to identify the materialized elements in front of him. There were many spots of light of different colors in front of him, and they were not evenly distributed in the scene he saw.

"There are many spots of light. The most numerous ones are cyan, followed by golden ones."

"Then there are translucent spots of light, blue spots, red spots, and yellow spots of light, but these colors are relatively weak, scarce, and almost non-existent."

Dean Tungus nodded as he wrote down Locke's talent on a piece of paper. "Didn't you see the light spot?"

Locke shook his head.

Dean Tungus paused with his quill on the paper and continued, "Do these light spots form a certain shape, or even rotate around you?"

Locke still shook his head. In his eyes, the reception room was just covered with light spots of different colors and brightness, and nothing happened.

Dean Tungus nodded, his eyes slightly disappointed.

"Judging from the current results, you do have wizard talent, and it's not the lowest level."

"Probably in the lower middle level."

"There are seven levels of wizards. The lowest level, level 1, can only see some halos after taking the elemental emerald potion. Only those with talents above level 3 can see spots of light."

"Those points of light are actually the elemental entities you see after taking the Elemental Emerald Potion and your vision transforms into [Spiritual Vision]."

Dean Tungus introduced the basics of mysticism and said, "This world is filled with four elements: wind, water, fire, and earth."

"A wizard who can see spots of light means he has at least a fourth-level wizard talent, because that means he can see a high-density concentration of a certain element."

"Those with level 5 talents can even see elemental vortexes."

Dean Tungus said: "So your wizard talent should be around level 3."

"Well, your talent is at level 3, which is pretty good for Corfu. Most apprentices on Corfu have a talent level of 1-2. Most wizard seedlings also have a talent level of 3-4, which is considered mediocre."

"Those with level 6-7 talents can almost certainly become official wizards through hard work and time, as long as they don't take the wrong path; and those with level 5 talents also have great potential to become wizards."

"It's much harder for a level 3-4 wizard to become a full-fledged wizard. It requires hard work and a certain amount of luck, but it's very likely they won't become a full-fledged wizard in their entire lives. And those with level 1-2 talents have almost no potential to become full-fledged wizards, and will only be able to wander among wizard apprentices their entire lives."

"The colors you see represent your natural elemental affinity."

"The wind element particles are translucent, the water element is blue, the fire element is red, and the earth element is dark yellow. The color you see most is cyan, which means you are looking at a composite element."

Dean Tungus spoke softly to Locke. Ever since Locke was confirmed to have wizard talent, his tone towards Locke had changed dramatically, and his voice had become much kinder.

Locke asked doubtfully, "Mr. Dean, what are composite elements?"

Dean Tungus explained, "The four elements are just four basic elements, but they are naturally entangled. Two or more basic elements become entangled with each other, forming composite elements with unique properties."

"For example, the blue spots you see the most are the wood element."

"In other words, you are most closely connected to the wood element, which, to a certain extent, represents your future development direction."

"You might have an advantage if you learn plant magic, because your soul is naturally more compatible with the wood element."

Dean Tungus said, "The second most common color you see is gold. That's the gold element, a special compound of earth and fire. This means you're also proficient in a certain level of gold magic, as well as alchemy."

"Based on the experience of the wizarding world, a soul must have a primary attribute, a secondary attribute, and then a general attribute."

"So, your primary compatible attribute is wood, your secondary compatible attribute is gold, and your pan-attributes are wind, water, fire, and earth."

Dean Tungus smiled and said, "Although your wizard aptitude is only below average, your compatibility with the elements is very good. Your mental power has a certain degree of compatibility with the four basic elements, although it is not high. This means that you can learn almost all magic."

"This will make it easier for you to choose a college when you leave Aurelian College by ship and head to the wizarding world."

"Overall, your magical talents are all in the direction of white magic. I recommend you visit Four Seasons Garden, Holly Tower, and Alchemist's Hut. These forces are all famous white magic academies in the southeast corner of the wizarding world."

"Perfect for you."

"Similarly, Verdantia University, the direct superior school of Aurelian College, is also a good choice. Verdantia University is a comprehensive magic school, and there must be wizards specializing in botany, alchemy, and gold magic."

"Of course, the prerequisite is that you can pass the exam."

"If you fail the exam, none of this will matter. In two years, the wizard ship will arrive in Corfu. Before then, you must join my society and study with us."

"If your learning progress is not ideal, then you can only go to some more niche or niche small wizarding organizations and become their student."

Pass the exam?

Locke was about to ask what it meant to pass the exam. Does it require a good score?

Suddenly, the scene in front of him changed inexplicably. The elemental particles in front of him seemed to scream loudly, as if they were scared away by something.

The wood element particles and gold element particles disappeared, followed by a large area of very dense black element particles, and then relatively dense fire element particles. The other three basic particles were basically gone.

Locke frowned. "Mr. Dean, is it possible for a person to have a second primary compatible attribute?"

Dean Tungus said: "The compatibility attribute is merely the degree of compatibility between a person's soul and the elements at a certain moment."

"As a person grows and the environment changes, these may change. There are even specialized advanced potions that can enhance your compatibility with a certain element."

Dean Tunguska said, "So don't worry too much about this issue."

"But generally speaking, it's unlikely that a person—a soul—would have two main compatible attributes."

Locke immediately understood that his soul might have merged with the original owner's, which not only improved his own mental strength but also gave him the qualifications of a wizard.

At the same time, he also gained two main compatible attributes.

Locke asked, "Mr. Dean, what elements do the black elemental light spots represent? I feel they are very negative."

Tungus said, "Oh, you did see a little bit of dark energy. This shows that you still have some talent as a necromancer, or a talent for curse magic, but I don't think you saw much, so it's not very important."

"I'd better not record it."

Tungus explained to Locke, "These are the talents of black wizards. If you want to join the wizarding organization of white wizards in the future, then these minor talents will become an unnecessary obstacle."

"Since your primary attribute is wood and your secondary attribute is gold, there's no need to record your low soul compatibility with the dark element."

"On the other hand, if a student's future goal is to join a dark wizard organization, I would advise him not to record some of the lower light element compatibility scores."
