The mercenaries and humans engaged each other.Though the two sides had equal quantity it was clear that the mercenaries had the better overall quality.Half the elite humans were relatively new and three quarters of the boss humans were also relatively new.They were lacking in levels compared to the headpriestress.
The powerful veterans of the mercenarie companies played a large part in the battle.Cleaving apart a large number of level 0 normal humans and level 0 elite humans who would die.These humans due to never levelling up would never respawn.
The few boss humans even the ones that were killed essentially had infinite respawns due to being bosses.They had nothing to fear from death but that didn't mean they were eager to die.Far from it.They took the longest time to respawn so if they died then a rival or competitor might reach a higher lever then them by the time they respawn.
Witnessing a slaughter that they could only resist for a time the boss humans reached a similar conclusion.Leaving the normal and elite humans as a distraction they decided to flee in different directions.Every single one of these boss humans had a spatial mark placed by Katarina.They could make a human warband whenever they liked.
"Their strong ones are fleeing we need to finish this quickly so they don't become an issue later on."
The mercenaries saw the boss humans collective idea for what it was and were very reluctant to let them go.The humans that were left behind were immediately bombarded by powerful spells and martial techniques which were undoubtedly the trump cards of the mercenaries.
The humans for their part had mixed reactions.Some of them cursed the boss humans for abandoning them.Some attempted to flee as they were reluctant to die.Others kept fighting till their dying breath to die on their own terms.
A few powerful mercenaries broke off from their groups to hunt down the boss humans.

Rodrey ran in the direction of the large forest.No doubt he would be able to hide quiet well there.With his particular skillset he had no doubts he would be able to remain undetected by any powerful creatures like the one who wiped out all the human within their own realm.
Rodrey had died then and he refused to be so powerless before any living creature ever again.He heard footsteps rapidly approaching him from behind and saw one of those darker skinned white haired knife ears pursuing him.This one was male and wore a determined expression.
The creature was stronger then Rodrey judging by its presence but not overwhelming so.Rodrey could win this one.He had a high win rate in sparring against other bosses due to his skillset which wasn't destructive or could easily kill his fellow humans.His skillset was still powerful and good in a fight though.
When the moon elf got close enough in range Rodrey activated one of his main skills.

A pitch black veil of sorts encompassed a large area around Rodrey.The moon elf mercenary who was caught inside of it was immediately startled and panicked slightly with fear.Rodrey had seen all of it before in his fellow humans.Having ones senses so abruptly taken away without having prior knowledge of it would send anyone in a panic.
Rodrey brandished his shortsword.He would finish this quickly before others arrived and the shock factor wore off.

Rolo had lived with some decent experience in the crescent moon mercenary company.He had witnessed all sorts of spells and martial techniques in his time but the ability the human just used was unlike anything he had ever seen.In fact a great deal of the humans that had been present had used abilities he had never seen.The world truly was a big place.
Rolo was taken completely off guard when his senses were taken away and he had even entertained the fact that he was dead at first.That was how drastic the effect of having his trained senses taken away completely felt.
Rolo forced himself to calm down.He had been in countless life and death situations.His breathing calmed somewhat.This was good as he realised he could still sense mana.Mana sense was practically the only sense he had left.That was good at least.Elves were renowned for their ability to sense mana.
