The head priestess resummoned all her elementals including the nuclear sludge aspect of the amorphous mutant. Thanks to her higher level and new war gear using this mythic rank skill was a lot easier.
The current elementals she could summon were in a different league from the ones she could summon before the mining settlement raid.
There was no need to worry about stealing ores as that part of the quest had been completed by her warband.Other then herself though the warband of the head priestress was dead. The only thing left was to destroy the remaining parts of the settlement and kill the remaining miners.

Salarzar of the slithering knights mercenary group was facing the dilemma of his life. The lizardman had never faced a situation like this.Elementals did exist but could only be born in places with a high concentration of mana of a certain attribute.Mages could tame them but they couldn't reliably revive them.
Yet right now regardless of which elemental was killed it would reappear in another location within the settlement. Not only that buy these elementals were getting stronger over time and seemed to be slowly developing new abilities as time went on.
It was as though they were getting a power boost due to certain conditions. It didn't take a genius to realise that attacking the elementals was straight up pointless. There had to be one of those stocky round eared elves controlling them.
Salarzar had already ordered his fellow mercenaries to search for the dungeon monsters attacking the settlement. He also knew that the other mercenaries were doing the same.
...
The head priestess took in the scent of burning wood and the sound of carnage and destruction as she strolled through the heavily damaged mining settlement.
Occasionally she came across some of those creatures who would attack her.Mercenaries they called themselves. They were eliminated of course. There were weak ones and some who took a bit of effort to take down.
"OVER THERE ITS ONE OF THOSE ROUND EAR ELVES."
The head priestress looked to her left to see a group of dwarves with ornately engraved weapons and armour.
The head priestess drew power from her fire aspect of the tiger and sent a large explosive fireball in their direction. The dwarves were stunned by this dismissive aggression but they were seasoned mercenaries of the runic drunkards mercenary group.
The armoured dwarves at the front raised their shields. The ones behind them raised their shields above their heads. This had the appearance of a shield bunker. The runes engraved into the shields glowed as a magical defensive formation activated. The fireball exploded harmlessly on the defensive formation.
The dwarf mercenaries jeered and mocked her but the head priestess was already trying a different approach. She drew on the power of her wind aspect of the leopard to launch a powerful slash of wind.
The dwarf mercenaries for their part changed formation and lined up their shields creating a shield wall. The runes engraved into the shields lit up but differently. The large slash of wind collided with the shield wall but failed to produce any damage to the dwarves or their equipment.
"How about this then."
The head priestess drew on the power of her nuclear sludge aspect of the amorphous mutant.A large orb of nuclear sludge materialised as she sent it toward the dwarves.
The dwarves saw this peculiar attack the likes of which they had never seen before. They felt only danger from it and chose to quickly move out the way.Their decision proved to be wise as the orb of nuclear sludge splattered on their previous position.Any material that the glowing sludge landed on became misshapen and malformed.
The dwarves didn't recieve any injury or get any casualties but they didn't relax. An attack like that was very likely to break through their defenses. The dwarves split up to divide the head priestress's attention.
The head priestress wanted to launch another orb of nuclear sludge but the dwarves were to close now.She would risk hitting herself if she went through with it.She knew how dangerous Valerie's skills were and Valerie was the reason she could use this sludge at all.
It was at this point that the head priestress realised her greatest weakness. She lacked close quarter combat skills and any experience in close combat. This was probably due to the fact that she had simply sat back and let her elementals do all the work.In her short life in Gaia's service she had only occasionally had to fight by casting and never close quarters.
She jumped back to dodge a dwarfs strike only for a particularly large dwarf to rapidly charge forward and break both her knees with a mace. The head priestress fell to the ground clutching her legs as she groaned in pain.

Katarina felt a distant fluctuation from one of her spacial marks. It appeared to be the spatial mark...inside the head priestess.Did she run into some sort of trouble.Regardless a boss humans life was in danger. She ought to send great reinforcements through a portal to her location.
