Chapter 315: Koneko's Strange Behavior (Part 1)
Ravel's cheeks burned crimson. Words tripping over themselves, she finally spilled the truth about her relationship with Tenra.
"This… Only Rias-neesama knows. You—you absolutely cannot tell anyone else."
She felt mortified just saying it, and her warning came out as a desperate plea.
Kunou stared, mouth agape. "But… Ravel-chan and Tenra-oniisama are siblings, right? How could… how could…"
Even with all she'd seen, Kunou never imagined Ravel would be Tenra's wife. The idea was so shocking she had to cover her mouth, eyes wide in disbelief.
Ravel's lips curled in a stubborn huff. "Why not?! We're devils, not humans. And Oniisama and I don't even share the same mother. There's nothing wrong with it."
She'd stopped caring about appearances—her tone was bold, her logic airtight.
Kunou hesitated. "Well, I guess… but…"
Ravel's argument made sense, but Kunou couldn't shake her unease. Raised as a Kyoto youkai princess, she'd picked up a lot of human customs—and this just didn't fit.
"No buts. I'll only ever be Oniisama's wife. That's final!"
Ravel waved off the doubt, her face set with absolute resolve. No other man could ever compare.
"Ravel-chan…"
Kunou's heart fluttered. Ravel's confidence was dazzling—she practically sparkled.
And then, a thought sneaked into Kunou's mind:
If Ravel-chan can be Tenra-oniisama's wife… could I?
Her cheeks flared red, and she nearly jumped at her own boldness.
No way. Absolutely not! Tenra-oniisama is Mother's husband—he's my father, technically! That's totally impossible!

Ugh, stupid Kunou! What are you even thinking?!
Steam seemed to rise from her head as she shook it furiously, trying to banish the embarrassing idea.
"Little fox, you okay?"
Ravel eyed her, suspicion written all over her face.
"Ah—fine! Totally fine! Hahaha…"
Kunou forced a laugh, desperate to hide her flustered thoughts.
"I'm heading out."
Koneko's voice cut through the chaos. She stood, gathered her things, and slipped out of the room.
"Is Koneko-chan alright?" Kunou asked, concern creasing her brow.
Ravel shrugged. "What could be wrong with that cat? She's probably just jealous."
"Jealous?"
Kunou's fox ears twitched. That word sounded… odd.
Ravel smirked. "You really don't know? Toujou Koneko has that kind of relationship with Oniisama too. Rias-neesama and the others tried to stop it, but Koneko fell for him herself. Now she's set—she'll be Oniisama's woman one day."
"E-even Koneko-chan?!"
Kunou's jaw dropped. She'd never heard that before.
Ravel continued, almost absentminded: "So, little fox—Koneko will be Oniisama's woman, I'll be his wife, Mira will serve him for life as his retainer… but you…"
She trailed off, sympathy flickering in her eyes. She didn't have to finish—the meaning was clear.
They'd all stay by Tenra's side forever. But Kunou… couldn't.
She was Tenra's daughter, at least in name. One day, she'd have to leave and get married.
The realization hit Kunou like a splash of cold water. Her face went pale.
"Ravel-chan, I… I…"
Ravel patted her shoulder, her eyes glinting with mischief. "Don't worry about it, little fox. You're still young. That day's a long way off. And when it comes, Oniisama will help you find a great husband."
The words were meant to comfort, but they only made Kunou more anxious.
"Uuu… Ravel-chan, I don't want to get married! I don't want to leave everyone!"
Ravel tried to soothe her. "Don't cry, I was just joking!"
But Kunou's tears kept coming. "Uuu…"
"Ah—idiot, don't wipe your tears on me! Mira, help!"
The room devolved into chaos.

Kuroka glanced up from her lesson, teaching Ni and Li new senjutsu techniques.
"It's Koneko. Meow."
Koneko returned, set her things down, and headed straight for her bedroom.
As her sister, Kuroka knew Koneko better than anyone. She instantly sensed something was off. Her eyes narrowed, but she kept silent, filing the observation away for later.
Alone in her room, Koneko curled up on her bed. Her pale cheeks flushed deep red.
"T-Tenra-senpai…"
Tenra's Study
"Oniisama, it's Ravel."
Tenra was immersed in the Codex of Divinitas et Diabolus when Ravel's voice came from outside.
"Come in."
He dismissed the Codex, wondering what brought her here.
The door opened, and Ravel entered, Kunou trailing behind.
Tenra frowned at Kunou's red eyes. "Kunou, who made you cry?"
"N-no one, Oniisama. Really!"
Kunou waved her hands frantically. Ravel explained everything, and Tenra couldn't help but laugh—though he tried to hide it.
"Uuu… Oniisama, I don't want to get married! I don't want to leave everyone!"
Tears welled up again. Kunou's sobs were heartfelt—since arriving here, she'd made friends and found real happiness. She couldn't bear the thought of leaving.
Tenra tapped her forehead gently. "Silly girl, what are you worrying about?"
He scooped her onto his lap, holding her close.
"If you don't want to marry, you don't have to. Stay here as long as you like."
His voice was soft, soothing.
"R-really?"
Kunou peered up, eyes wet and hopeful.
"Of course it's real."
He comforted her until her tears dried, and a smile returned to her face.
"All better now? Go play."
Tenra patted her head, sending her off.
"Mm, Oniisama."
Kunou's cheeks turned pink. Remembering her earlier outburst was so embarrassing, but she grabbed Ravel's hand, ready to leave.
But—
"Ravel, stay."
Just as she reached the door, Tenra's words stopped her cold. Ravel froze, heart pounding.
