Chapter 235 - 《DXD: Infinite Loot System》Chapter 235: Odin’s Envy

After getting dressed and freshening up with Asia and the girls, Tenra made his way out of the bedroom. In the living room, he finally spotted the "important guest" Rias had mentioned—

Old man Odin himself.

Alongside Odin stood his Valkyrie bodyguard, Rossweisse, and Tenra's "discount father-in-law," Baraqiel.

Azazel had mentioned Baraqiel was currently moonlighting as Odin's guide and security detail, so seeing the two together wasn't a shock.

"Oh! There you are, boy—finally up, eh?" Odin greeted, his tone thick with envy. "Ah, youth. To keep so many beautiful girls at home, living the harem dream… We old-timers can only watch and sigh."

Rias and Yubelluna blushed scarlet. Tenra's lips twitched—shameless old goat. Rossweisse, mortified, delivered a flurry of punches to Odin's head.

"Odin-sama! The Valkyries are weeping! Please stop embarrassing the Norse gods!"

"Yare yare, I'm just speaking my mind. Rossweisse, you're so uptight—that's why you're still single."

Odin rubbed his head, grinning with wicked amusement. Teasing his Valkyrie guard never got old.

Sure enough, Rossweisse wilted under the weight of the world's collective malice. Tears welled up as she slumped to the floor.

"Uuuu… It's true—I'm a Valkyrie whose boyfriend-less years match her age… Uuuu…"

Tenra sighed at the old man's antics, signaling Shuriya and the others to help the "wounded" Valkyrie up. He took a seat opposite Odin.

"Forgive me, Odin-sama, Baraqiel—had I known you were coming, I'd have prepared sooner."

"Ohoho, the fault's ours for dropping in unannounced. Heard you were here, Tenra-boy, so I thought I'd swing by."

Odin stroked his beard, chuckling. Baraqiel nodded in greeting, his gaze lingering on Akeno, who stood with her head bowed, a shadow crossing his face.

Baraqiel still didn't know that Akeno had forgiven him. Their relationship had been strained for so long—reconciliation wouldn't happen overnight. But with the knot in her heart untied, it was only a matter of time. Tenra decided to let things run their natural course.

"Has your tour of the Underworld wrapped up, Odin-sama?" Tenra asked.

"Just about. Next, I'll be paying a visit to this nation's gods. There are things I want to discuss—we've barely interacted until now."

Odin nodded, his manner almost statesmanlike. His visit was a diplomatic one—Norse gods reaching out to devils, angels, fallen angels, and the Eastern pantheon. An olive branch of peace and goodwill. For the mythological world, it was a big deal.

Not that any of it had much to do with Tenra. After some casual conversation, he had Meru and Burent whip up a lavish feast. Odin was wined and dined in style.

Lecherousness aside, Odin was surprisingly approachable—no trace of a god-king's arrogance. Still, Tenra kept his guard up. Rias and the girls were equally wary, switching to modest, well-covered outfits. Odin's disappointment was palpable.

After the meal and a brief rest, Odin, Rossweisse, and Baraqiel prepared to take their leave.

"Tenra-boy, thanks for the hospitality," Odin said. "I've asked Michael and Sirzechs to arrange a summit with this country's gods in a few days. If you're interested, come along."

"Well, since you're inviting me, I'd be honored," Tenra replied. He wasn't particularly invested, but it was a kind gesture—no reason to refuse.

"Ohoho, then it's settled. Farewell, Tenra-boy—and to all you lovely young ladies."

Odin waved, climbing into his personal divine chariot. Rossweisse and Baraqiel offered their goodbyes, preparing to depart.

But just then, Akeno stepped forward.

"Please wait."

Her voice froze Baraqiel in his tracks.

"Akeno, you…"

Hope flickered in Baraqiel's eyes, but anxiety dominated his face.

Akeno hesitated, drawing a slow breath. Finally, she spoke:

"F-Father… please take care during your guard duty."

Simple words, but to Baraqiel they were the sweetest music in the world. His eyes shone with joy, his whole body trembling.

"Ah, I will, Akeno!"

A battle-hardened veteran, yet in that moment, Baraqiel looked like a child given his favorite treat—beaming with happiness.

He gazed at Akeno, eyes bright, then turned and left with Odin and Rossweisse.

Kuoh Academy, Kendo Club.

Tak! Tak-tak!

In the center of the dojo, Murayama and Katase clashed fiercely, wooden swords flashing. Tenra, Kiryuu Aika, and the other club girls watched from the sidelines.

The two were the club's aces; only a handful could match their skill, apart from the rising star Kiryuu Aika.

Back and forth, neither giving an inch—their strength perfectly matched. As their stamina waned, something flashed in both girls' eyes.

"Haaa!"

With twin cries, Murayama and Katase leaped, bringing their swords down in synchronized arcs.

Sssh—!

To everyone's shock, two crescent-shaped sword auras shot out, colliding midair and dissolving in a burst of light.

Pale-faced, the girls landed, exchanging wry smiles. Even that wasn't enough to decide the winner.
