In the Holy Devil Temple, Tenra lounged lazily on his throne, chin resting in one hand. On either side, a handful of beautiful sorceresses tended to him—kneading his shoulders, massaging his legs.
A magic circle shimmered open. Katerea, tall and alluring, entered with several other sorceresses. They bowed low before Tenra.
"Master, we've gathered the intelligence you wanted."
"Let's hear it."
Tenra lifted his head, eyes sharpening.
"Since the Old Satan Faction collapsed, the Khaos Brigade has fallen almost entirely under the control of the Hero Faction," Katerea began, her tone grave. "Their leader is a man named Cao Cao. He wields the legendary True Longinus—the strongest Sacred Gear of all. His strength is said to be unfathomable, and rumor has it he's a direct descendant of the Three Kingdoms' Cao Cao."
"Under his orders, the Hero Faction has kidnapped and brainwashed a large number of Sacred Gear users worldwide. Recently, they've released these users, sending them to attack key strongholds of major factions across the globe."
Tenra's lips curled, intrigued. "So, is he planning to make enemies of the whole world?"
Katerea shook her head. "He's not interested in world domination. There's no hard evidence, but from what I know of him… I think he's simply running an experiment."
Tenra's interest piqued. "Go on."
"If my guess is correct, he's trying to force a group of Sacred Gear users to reach Balance Breaker. By throwing them into life-or-death battles, he hopes to trigger breakthroughs."
She adjusted her glasses, voice steady. Tenra gave her a second look—when she wasn't blinded by ambition, Katerea was sharp.
He'd been in this world for years; most of the so-called plot details were a blur. But this much stuck: Katerea was right. Cao Cao's goal was to push Sacred Gear wielders to achieve Balance Breaker.
If the odds of being chosen by a Sacred Gear were one in ten thousand, then reaching Balance Breaker was one in a hundred million. It took effort, opportunity, and luck. Not everyone had Tenra's talent—he could make Sacred Gears submit with ease, but for most, it was a distant dream.
Most users never reached Balance Breaker. Cao Cao's method was crude, but effective—throw the guinea pigs into battle against the strongest, and see who survives. When lives are on the line, miracles happen.
Even if dozens or hundreds died, if one achieved Balance Breaker, the experiment was worth it. Only a true mastermind—or a complete villain—would dare such tactics.
But whether Cao Cao was hero or villain didn't matter to Tenra. What mattered was what he could gain.
To Cao Cao, those Sacred Gear users were expendable test subjects. To Tenra, they were prime opportunities for power.
No need to rush. If Cao Cao wanted them to reach Balance Breaker, Tenra wanted that even more. Plundering a Sacred Gear at Balance Breaker would boost his strength far beyond what an ordinary one could offer.
"Keep a close watch on those Sacred Gear users. Report any developments to me immediately."
Katerea smiled, a hint of mischief in her eyes. "Of course, Master."
Already tall and striking, Katerea was even more captivating after Tenra's "nourishment." Looking at her—the damned seductress—Tenra felt a familiar heat stirring.
"You all did well. Come and claim your reward."
He crooked a finger, grinning.
Faces flushed, Katerea and the other sorceresses obediently knelt, crawling toward their wicked master…
…
The next morning.
Tenra yawned, blinking awake.
Xenovia and Irina lay on either side, arms locked tight around his waist. Asia was curled atop his chest like a kitten, lips parted in a sleepy smile, a tiny drool spot glistening at the corner of her mouth.
He'd slept with Rias and the others before, but he wasn't savage enough to share his bed with every girl every night. Even if he could handle it, the girls certainly couldn't. Yubelluna and Rias often spent the night alone with him, while the others paired up for "bed service."
The usual combinations: Tosca and Mirana—the Bishops; Ni and Li—the twin Pawns; Raynare, Mittelt, and Kalawarner—the Fallen Angel trio; and Xenovia, Irina, and Asia—the former Church trio.
With Akeno joining, the arrangements had shifted a bit, but the pattern remained. Last night, after rewarding Katerea and her group, Xenovia, Irina, and Asia had come to sleep with him.
Xenovia's dream was to bear her Lord's children. Asia wanted to devote body and soul to her Master. Irina protested with "no, no," but her body was always more honest than her words.
And, thanks to a certain someone's wicked request, Xenovia and Irina had offered their battle suits, while Asia surrendered her nun's habit. By morning, all three outfits were reduced to scraps scattered across the floor. The girls didn't mind—this wasn't the first time.
Just as Tenra considered some morning exercise, the door clicked open. Rias stepped inside.
"R-Rias!"
"Mm… Rias-oneesama…"
The three girls stirred, faces flushing as they saw Rias. They scrambled to bury themselves under the covers.
Sure, they'd all seen each other naked before, but being caught like this still felt mortifying.
"Rias, you chose not to come last night. Don't tell me you couldn't resist after all?"
Tenra sat up, grinning lazily.
"Wh-who couldn't resist?!"
"We have an important visitor. You lot are still lazing about, so I came to wake you!"
Rias's cheeks burned as she huffed.
"An important visitor…?"
So that's what this was about. Tenra felt a twinge of embarrassment, but mostly curiosity—who would drop by at this hour?
