It was clear that Vision wasn't just a simple advanced AI. He was likely created by some serendipitous event, built around the Mind Stone, using J.A.R.V.I.S.'s program as the base code.
He wasn't merely a robot AI, but a form of artificial intelligent life.
Shortly after Vision's death, Zombie Wanda had already smashed through the ruins of the base and flew out. Her expression was horrifying, a grotesque mix of rage and hunger, as if she were looking down at a pile of food.
But when she saw Vision's corpse, something unimaginable happened—there was a flicker of pain on her face. For a brain that had completely lost all thought and retained only the instinct to consume, this was nearly impossible—but it happened.
It was clear just how deep her feelings for Vision had been.
Everyone watching off-screen gasped, realizing that these zombies might possess their own intelligence. Perhaps in the future, they could even form a zombie civilization.
Finally, enraged, Zombie Wanda attacked, charging directly at Winter Soldier Bucky.
The bullets Bucky fired were stopped in midair by her chaos magic, unable to penetrate her shield.
After ensuring that the others had taken off in the plane, Bucky finally exhaled and charged at Zombie Wanda, firing his gun in an attempt to distract her and buy more time.
But his power was far inferior to hers. Just as the group was about to escape, Zombie Wanda caught up, and in the instant Bruce Banner tried to close the plane's door, she lunged, biting at his arm.
Luckily, at the last moment, the Hulk, who had been reluctant to appear, manifested an arm to block her bite. Without that intervention, Bruce would have been finished.
Hulk clearly recognized the danger posed by Zombie Wanda. Even though his pride had been deeply wounded after being treated like a child by Thanos, he manifested just enough to protect Bruce at this critical moment.
"Ha ha ha, nice save, big guy!" Bruce laughed heartily.
But the wave of zombies was relentless. It was now Bruce's turn to act as bait, attempting to buy the team enough time.
The superheroes—and even former supervillains like Bucky, or corrupted Vision—showed their true heroic spirit when it mattered.
Whether shaken or not, in crucial moments they chose selflessness, sacrificing themselves for the greater good.
Just as the audience off-screen saw Bruce risking himself, Hulk finally appeared again, resolving the immediate crisis.
Before everyone could even relax, the second-generation Wasp, who had sacrificed herself for the team, grabbed the plane, nearly bringing it down.
In the end, the team managed to escape by plane.
The journey had been harrowing. Once a large superhero team, they were now down to only three survivors.
It was a terrifying and tragic ordeal.
The scene shifted, showing the plane crossing the Atlantic, arriving in Africa under the sunset.
"Twenty minutes to go!"
Black Panther T'Challa checked the time.
"Another victory for the Avengers!" Ant-Man Scott cheerfully said. "High-five, no need to hold back on me!"
"You okay?"
T'Challa noticed Spider-Man Peter Parker seemed a bit down.
Peter sighed: "Mr. Stark invited me to join the Avengers last year. I declined. Now, everyone else is gone… and I'm still alive."
He had lost so many during this zombie crisis.
T'Challa looked at Peter: "In Wakandan culture, death isn't the end. As long as we remember them, they remain with us."
"Besides, you're not alone; you still have me!" Ant-Man added.
Peter realized: "Right, I forgot—Ant-Man is an Avenger too."
"Yes, this is my shining moment!" Scott said proudly. "Not officially a member yet, but in spirit, I am!"
"Great. The world needs that spirit now," T'Challa encouraged with a smile.
"As long as we bring the Mind Stone to Wakanda, we can save the world!" Peter nodded in agreement.
Finally, he could help save the world. With Wakandan technology and the Mind Stone, they could restore the planet—any outcome would be better than this zombie-ravaged world.
This was their only hope, humanity's only hope.
"Even in the toughest times, humanity will fight to protect its home," the Observer said, appearing once more. "Even if the cost is the entire universe."
The team felt a chill. Could Wakanda itself be in danger?
They soon learned the source of the problem: Thanos.
After Hulk arrived on Earth, Thanos followed, targeting Wakanda. But upon arriving, he encountered the zombie hordes.
The absurd part: the cosmic overlord, whom even the three core Avengers struggled to fight, was overwhelmed by zombies.
Even worse, Thanos became a zombie himself. Five of the six Infinity Stones were already collected, and now the Mind Stone was delivered directly into his hands.
This meant Thanos could potentially consume the entire universe.
Though they didn't fully understand the Infinity Stones, everyone felt a chill down their spine.
Previously, the zombie crisis was confined to Earth. But with Thanos turned, the entire universe was on the brink of zombification.
Even Odin, the All-Father, felt despair. Facing six-Stone Thanos unarmed, there was no way he could stop him.
This timeline was extremely dangerous—even a seasoned god like Odin saw no chance of survival.
The entire universe was becoming a zombie playground.
S.H.I.E.L.D. agents were equally terrified; in such a world, victory seemed impossible.
Before Thanos arrived, Black Panther and Peter still had some hope. Now, there was none.
Thanos would devour all hope.
With his strength and spaceship, the zombie virus could spread across the cosmos.
This universe was doomed. No wonder even Lin Feng felt desperate and suffocated.
Everyone watching shared that despair.
"Haha, I used to think too many timelines might not be good… but now, it seems kinda nice," Hawkeye Barton shrugged. "At least there's a backup. If my friends are living peacefully on another timeline, that's something."
Everyone agreed. A backup timeline might not be useful immediately, but it was essential.
"No matter what, we must keep an eye on Hank Pym," Tony Stark said. "He's the real threat. Compared to him, people like Ivan Vanko are nothing."
"Yes," Nick Fury nodded seriously.
Seeing this potential future—even if it was a small probability—they resolved to monitor Hank Pym and Pym Technologies closely.
They would surveil everyone involved, ensuring nothing dangerous could escape.
If Lin Feng hadn't warned them that this would affect future major events, Tony might have acted to completely eliminate this dangerous family.
Who knew what they were researching?
