Chapter 87 - Sorcerer Supreme Tony Stark

"So, if we follow Lin Feng's explanation, and Magicians draw their power from Demon Gods, then these Magicians must be absorbing the power of one, or perhaps multiple, Demon Gods. And this power, they believe, has no side effects. Or, we could consider it aligned with the forces of good, perhaps?" Nick Fury mused.

"We still have a shortage of information, but it's the most likely theory so far. Lin Feng also makes an interesting point. Ancient One is truly formidable, able to absorb the power of those Demon Gods without repercussions. This suggests that these Demon Gods might not be as powerful as we assume, or, at the very least, they can't come to Earth to settle scores with Ancient One," Natasha said. "After all, the number of Demon Gods Ancient One has killed could probably circle the solar system... I'm not sure if that's the broad definition or the narrow one... It seems there are even some Ancient One owes money to..."

Lin Feng wrote very playfully in his diary, as if it was all so easy.

But in reality, just imagining the situation was enough to make their scalps tingle.

For example, how did these Demon Gods come to Earth to collect debts? How did they invade Earth, only to be killed by Ancient One? It undoubtedly involved a series of terrifying battles beyond imagination.

Hidden behind Lin Feng's playful words in his diary was Ancient One's terrifying combat prowess.

They hadn't encountered many Demon Gods, and they didn't know much about them. They only knew of Dormammu, Lord of the Dark Dimension, and just he alone nearly devoured the Earth. Yet, Ancient One had consistently fought against and even killed such beings.

Looking at it this way, Lin Feng's wariness was, without a doubt, not an exaggeration.

In the palace of Asgard, Thor looked at his father, Odin, and asked, "Is this Ancient One really that powerful?"

"Of course, she is one of the most terrifying beings I've ever met amongst humans!"

Odin nodded in response.

Just considering the Ancient One's strength, she was not inferior to him. If they were to fight, the only advantage he might have was that he would stand a chance. Not to mention, the Vishanti stood behind all the White Mages. The three Demon Gods were no weaker than the Ancient One, some even stronger.

Moreover, Earth still had other hidden giants. Therefore, he had only nominally declared dominion over Earth, and from beginning to end, he didn't dare to do anything to Earth.

The more you know, the more fear you have!

Those who know less are often the most audacious.

Including the diary video where Loki invaded Earth under the pretense of avenging Thor, made him frown deeply. He understood Loki's ambition, but even with ambition, one needed to know their limits.

Other places were fine, but Earth, despite appearing remote and out of the way, was actually the birthplace of many powerful figures.

In the ancient texts of Asgard, it was recorded that long ago, many Demon Gods lived on Earth. Later, a great war occurred, and many Demon Gods were defeated and banished from the main universe, including Dormammu, Lord of the Dark Dimension.

And that was just one of them. Not to mention the other Demon Gods eyeing Earth with predatory intent, and the ones who emerged victorious were even more terrifying.

Besides, many deities from various pantheons were also banished from Earth, such as those from the Greek Pantheon, who were now residing in the Omnipotent City Pantheon. They seemed to have no ambition, but who knew if they were still eyeing Earth with covetousness?

Just from what he already knew, the number of powerful figures watching Earth was enough to make his scalp tingle, each one a being that shook the universe.

Thor now remembered that his father, Odin, rarely allowed them to travel to Earth freely and was very secretive about Earth-related matters. Ancient One, in particular, was someone Odin had personally instructed them not to provoke.

He seemed to understand now. Those were indeed beings he could not afford to offend, and they were terrifying.

He also knew about Demon Gods; the weakest of them were probably on his level. Many were in different dimensional planes. He didn't know if Lin Feng's statement about Ancient One killing Demon Gods that could circle the solar system was an exaggeration or not, but it was enough for him to judge that Ancient One was someone he couldn't afford to provoke.

I'm still too young, completely unaware of how deep the waters run in this universe. I even doubted my father's cautiousness, which is laughable.

"In the future, stay away from those Magicians. Even after Ancient One is gone, you must be extremely careful, understand?" Odin said. "Those Magicians from Kamar-Taj are definitely not simple. It's not just Ancient One on the surface. You'll understand in due time."

"I understand," Thor said earnestly.

*Speaking of which, there have been quite a few people who've held the title of Sorcerer Supreme. Besides the normal Doctor Strange, Stephen Strange, the most interesting one is probably the Tony Stark version of Sorcerer Supreme. Tony Stark probably never imagined that, besides being Iron Man, he also had a talent for magic, with a very small chance of becoming Sorcerer Supreme Tony Stark.

Also, Captain America seems to have been Sorcerer Supreme for a while, sharing a body with Doctor Strange, Stephen Strange.

Loki was also Sorcerer Supreme, can you believe it? (Manual dog head)*

This Sorcerer Supreme position is almost a villain redemption special, it's absurd!

Seeing that he was mentioned, Tony Stark was stunned, not expecting it to be like this.

So, in some timelines, he actually had the potential to become the Sorcerer Supreme. Or, rather, he possessed a talent for magic, in addition to his scientific pursuits?

And it was the highest level of talent, the kind that could lead to becoming the Sorcerer Supreme?

After the initial shock, Tony Stark couldn't help but nod. Makes sense. A super-duper genius like him would naturally have incredible talent in all sorts of areas, right?

Very reasonable.

I really am a super genius!

Tony Stark's vanity and narcissism took another step up.

This was a talent officially recognized by Lin Feng, after all.

"So, Tony, are you going to try to learn magic?" Nick Fury asked, seeing Tony's expression and knowing he was lost in his own self-admiration again.

Tony Stark paused, then said, "If it's necessary, it's not impossible."

Although he was also startled by what Lin Feng's diary said. If he learned magic and used the power of those Demon Gods, he would have to work for them after death, becoming a tool, with a miserable end.

But if it was truly unavoidable, if he encountered an enemy he couldn't defeat, this was also a possible solution.
