Olivier had become the Chief Sovereign of Light. But the two mid-level Sovereigns of Light had no intention of handing over the Twelve-Winged Angel Rebirth Pools so easily.
Even though Olivier now held the title of Sovereign, without proper justification, he couldn't just act against the other Sovereigns.
"Greetings, Sovereign."
The six Sovereigns of the Light element immediately flew to Olivier's side.
"Everyone," Olivier said calmly, "now that the Sovereign of Light has changed, the Angel Rebirth Pools that once belonged to Augusta should by rights fall under my authority, yes?"
"Milord," one mid-level Light Sovereign replied, "in our Light Divine Plane, there has never been such a rule. The Rebirth Pool belongs to whoever has established ownership over it."
Olivier frowned. Although he was newly ascended to the Sovereign level and unfamiliar with the other Sovereigns, this mid-level Light Sovereign seemed rather insolent. For a mere mid-level Sovereign to speak so boldly to a Chief Sovereign…
Still, Olivier was well aware of the unwritten agreements among Sovereigns. Without a valid reason, even Sovereigns of differing strength were not allowed to battle one another.
"I'm not asking for much," Olivier said, voice calm yet pressuring. "Of the thirty-two Angel Rebirth Pools, give me just one Twelve-Winged Angel Rebirth Pool."
The two mid-level Light Sovereigns remained silent.
Each of them controlled one of the Twelve-Winged Angel Rebirth Pools. Naturally, neither of them wanted to surrender their own.
"You truly believe I wouldn't act against you?"
Olivier narrowed his eyes. "My name is Olivier. You can ask the Sovereigns of the Edicts who I am."
Olivier was the disciple of Sadius. Many Sovereigns already knew this. Whether it was Sadius' children, wife, relatives, or disciples—Sovereigns were well-informed about each one. They feared provoking Sadius and being obliterated by a mere wave of his hand.
Some of them had already thought Olivier looked familiar. Now that he revealed his identity, their expressions turned bitter.
Still, surrendering a Twelve-Winged Angel Rebirth Pool was a steep price. These pools were capable of producing Twelve-Winged Angels, entities that rivaled Seven Star Fiends or even Shuras.
In truth, few Sovereigns had many top-tier Highgods directly under their command.
A mid-level Sovereign could only have four Sovereign's Emissaries. A low-level Sovereign could have just two.
If their family bloodline was thin and they had few descendants, their influence might not even compare to a top-tier Shura clan.
Of course, Sovereigns could still command the various Prefecture Lords within their territory.
But even they couldn't compare to the unwavering loyalty of a Twelve-Winged Angel.
"Sovereign Olivier," one of the bolder mid-level Sovereigns said, "even the Chief Sovereigns can't casually strike down other Sovereigns, right?"
Olivier frowned. That was true. He was only using his master's name to pressure them. These people wouldn't hand over something so valuable just because of a few threats.
This matter had become rather thorny.
Just then, a Sovereign projection descended.
"Olivier, congratulations. Perhaps you'll become the fourth Paragon Sovereign of the universe."
The projection belonged to Uhtred.
Immediately afterward, another projection appeared.
"Congratulations, Olivier."
This time, it was the Life Sovereign, Viviya.
The Light element Sovereigns were stunned.
Two of the four Edict Sovereigns had shown up to congratulate Olivier?
Yet another projection descended.
This time, it was the Redbud Sovereign—another powerhouse on par with an Edict Sovereign.
And finally, the Death Sovereign's projection appeared as well.
These powerful figures had come to personally congratulate Olivier.
Now that Orloff had become an Overgod, the strongest Sovereigns remaining were precisely these individuals.
If even they were showing goodwill toward Olivier, then even if he did kill the Light element Sovereigns, it was likely these powerful figures would still declare him innocent.
The six Light Sovereigns immediately came to their senses.
"Sovereign Olivier, those Rebirth Pools are rightfully yours. We were merely safeguarding them for you. We'll now rescind our bonds to them."
Frightened, they instantly severed their connections with the Angel Rebirth Pools.
Even Olivier hadn't expected the matter to resolve so swiftly. It seemed his master's name still held incredible sway.
"My thanks to you all," Olivier said, bowing respectfully to the four projected Sovereigns.
Then Olivier turned a cold gaze back toward the six Light element Sovereigns.
Now wasn't the time to kill them. But soon, his master's plan would begin—and at that time, he would deal with them.
When Olivier acquired his High Sovereign spark, Sadius had secretly informed him of his intention to reshuffle the existing order of the Sovereigns.
Which meant Olivier was one of Sadius' chess pieces.
The six Light Sovereigns looked utterly miserable. They had now offended the new Chief Sovereign of Light. Their only option now was to seek allegiance elsewhere.
Time passed slowly.
The Coiling Dragon universe once again fell into a calm state.
Everyone waited in anticipation for the trial of the Supreme Overgod of Death to commence.
At that moment—Sadius and Ignis's clones returned from another universe back to the Coiling Dragon universe.
The moment they arrived, they recovered the memories of their respective clones.
Both were elated.
A new cultivation system!
Since its promotion to a primary universe, the Coiling Dragon universe theoretically encompassed everything.
But its original foundation was based on the magic system, so after ascension, it continued to develop along magical lines.
After all, creating something from nothing was exceedingly difficult. Only Hongmeng possessed such a feat.
However, this time, the two had brought back an immortal cultivation system from an affiliated cultivation universe—something that could be adapted and used immediately.
"It's done," Sadius said, sending a mental transmission to Orloff.
"Our clones have returned from the other universe."
Orloff immediately appeared before them.
"Sadius, Ignis—what's the situation beyond our universe?"
"See for yourself."
Sadius sent out a ray of divine light.
Immediately, new images appeared in Orloff's mind—Sadius' recent experiences.
Orloff's breathing grew heavy. A new universe. A new cultivation system.
"You're saying…our universe can now practice immortal cultivation?"
"That's right. And more than that. In theory, we should also be able to practice technological cultivation systems, biological gene cultivation systems—all of them. It's just that we currently have no knowledge of those. For now, we can only begin with the immortal cultivation system."
"According to that senior's instructions, we are to establish an immortal cultivation system within our universe."
"This is a great thing. I'll lend my strength as well," Orloff said.
"I've researched many things over the years—surely some of it will come in handy."
He sensed that his Reincarnation Golden Body felt akin to something from the immortal cultivation system. It was just that the Coiling Dragon universe had only ever had the magical system, so he'd had to invent it himself through research.
If the immortal cultivation system could be properly established, perhaps one could truly cultivate the Reincarnation Golden Body through practice.
