The pinnacle of the Coiling Dragon Universe.
At this moment, Sadius' golden form loomed larger than even a Sovereign Plane.
His gaze turned beyond the universe itself.
Although Sadius could not yet see what lay outside the universe, he could sense that someone—beyond the cosmos—was manipulating it.
In the Hongmeng space.
Hongmeng gazed at the magical subsidiary universe before him, joy evident in his expression.
He had waited through countless eons, finally encountering a being of indeterminate fate who might shatter the confines of this universe and enter the Hongmeng space itself.
That person, naturally, was Linley.
Not long ago, Hongmeng had discovered an outsider within the magical subsidiary universe—a soul not belonging to this cosmos.
Where this soul came from, even Hongmeng did not know.
But since it had appeared within his universe, it could hide no secrets from him.
Most importantly, from this soul's fate, he saw that the man could create a new type of elemental essence within the magical subsidiary universe.
When Hongmeng first created the magical universe, he had used chaotic energy to evolve the four basic elements—earth, fire, water, and wind. From these came light, darkness, and lightning.
Ultimately, from the principles of Heaven and Earth, came the manifestation of the four supreme Laws: Fate, Destruction, Life, and Death.
The magical universe had already evolved into a complete sub-universe within Hongmeng's dominion.
Yet now, Hongmeng's calculations revealed that with the birth of this new essence, the magical universe could evolve into a main universe.
Even Hongmeng, as a Controller, had only been able to create a single main universe.
And yet this soul from another world had—accidentally—enabled a subsidiary universe to evolve into a main universe.
How could Hongmeng not be ecstatic?
After all, with a second main universe under his control, his authority would double.
At that point, he might no longer be a first-grade Controller, but a special-grade Controller.
Of course, a single complete cosmos could not house two main universes.
Thus, Hongmeng would need to separate the Coiling Dragon Universe from the Hongmeng Cosmos.
Then fortify the universe to reestablish it in a new cosmic system so that it operates as the main universe of that cosmos. Following that a new subsidiary magical universe and four subsidiary universes would be created to support each other's existence.
A type of resonance. Like cogs in a watch. All pieces need to be moving to operate smoothly, but some cogs are bigger and hold a more critical function, yet none could truly operate independently.
This would mean that Hongmeng's capacity would inevitably double, which was previously thought to be impossible.
Beyond the universe, Hongmeng immediately began to separate the magical universe. He will be busy for a long time to come.
Inside the magical universe, Sadius had already realized the truth.
From now on, the Coiling Dragon Universe could begin cultivating toward the level of Sovereign Overgod.
But the requirements were extraordinarily harsh.
"To become a Supreme Overgod…one must meet strict conditions, including acknowledgment by the supreme rule of laws. A Supreme Overgod Plane must now be created," Sadius murmured, understanding his mission.
Everything he had to do was aimed at transforming the Coiling Dragon Universe into a true main universe.
Just then, a figure flew up to him.
Sadius noticed him.
"Orloff."
Orloff looked at Sadius, his heart pounding with excitement.
"Supreme Overgod Sadius, Fate Sovereign Orloff requests an audience."
Before a Supreme Overgod, Orloff knew he stood no chance.
Even his pride and joy—his Supreme artifact—was something a Supreme Overgod could casually create.
"I know what you want to ask," Sadius' voice echoed with divine majesty.
"Indeed…this world was created by a Supreme Being. You wish to break through this world and witness what lies beyond. Before the universe was elevated, you might have had the chance to glimpse that scenery—but that would also have meant your death; complete soul shattering. As for now, you still have a long road ahead. Even I, without that one's blessing, cannot leave this universe."
Sadius was not referring to entering the Hongmeng space—but rather, traveling to other universes.
As a Supreme Overgod, he could sense that with Hongmeng's help, it might be possible to reach other cosmic realms.
Orloff felt both excited and frustrated.
He had seen through the truth of the world—yet lacked the power to act upon it.
"Lord Supreme Overgod, may I ask…how does one cultivate to become a Supreme Overgod?"
That had now become Orloff's ultimate goal.
At the very least, as a Supreme Overgod, he might have a chance to escape this universe.
"My name is Sadius, born in the Yulan Plane. You know what that means, don't you?" Sadius said mildly.
Orloff immediately froze in terror.
This seemingly benevolent man's heart trembled violently.
Clearly, Augusta, who shared his soul origin, had already learned the truth.
"A Supreme Overgod born in the Yulan Plane…he's one of Beirut's people!" Augusta, still in the Light Sovereign Plane, nearly gnashed his teeth to dust.
"Of course, I can tell you how to cultivate to become a Supreme Overgod," Sadius said with a smile.
After all, now that the Coiling Dragon Universe had been elevated, its upper echelon would need to evolve.
Clearly, the four Law-based Supreme Overgod—those birthed by the universe's rules—were suitable when the Coiling Dragon Universe was still a subsidiary realm.
But now that the universe had ascended to main universe status, the Supreme Overgod needed to be true sentient beings to ensure the rules can grow to the extent of the universe.
Of course Hongmeng himself could create more Rule based Supreme Overgods but that would mean the inhabitants can only grow to a level below them as there can only be one embodiment of a Rule. If there is more than one 'True Ruler' the rules would be unstable.
One cannot serve two masters.
A level below may seem small, but look at the fundamental gap between a Sovereign and Overgod.
Moreover, with this evolution, the forces of time and space would soon manifest.
Which meant…two new Supreme positions would appear.
In total, the Coiling Dragon Universe would eventually have seven Supreme Overgods:
Supreme Overgod of Aether
Supreme Overgod of Time
Supreme Overgod of Space
Supreme Overgod of Fate
Supreme Overgod of Destruction
Supreme Overgod of Life
Supreme Overgod of Death
With six thrones still vacant, Sadius' duty was to wait for new beings to cultivate to Supreme Overgod status.
Of course, even if others did ascend, Sadius had no fear.
Among the Seven, the Aether Supreme Overgod was the strongest, followed by Time and Space, then the four Law-based Sovereigns.
Aether is basically cosmic energy. Unlike Hongmeng energy, which is raw, primordial chaos, aether is a derivative. Hongmeng energy, when broken down, gives rise to the four foundational elements: earth, wind, fire, and water.
Aether, on the other hand, is from a refined transformation of Hongmeng energy itself; born through specific conditions, such as proper ratio, distribution, and external influences like Sadius' soul. While aether is essential for a cosmos to stabilize and operate, it's lower in essence than Hongmeng energy.
A being who perfectly controls chaotic energy wouldn't need aether at all. Still, the very existence of aether represents a fundamental shift in how energy can be understood and used—proving even Hongmeng, despite his power, had more to learn. As the only creature in the Hongmeng space, how could he have known what he'd never encountered?
This meant that even if someone else succeeded in ascending to the Supreme Overgod level they could not threaten Sadius. After all, they operated within the aether.
"The most critical requirement to become a Supreme Overgod is—a mutated soul," Sadius said to Orloff.
To become a Supreme Overgod, one did not need to refine a Supreme Overgod Spark like when becoming a normal Sovereign.
Of course, a Sovereign could still ascend—after becoming a Supreme Overgod their Sovereign Spark would disintegrate and they simply had to recreate it. Sovereign Sparks are used to ensure there's a sense of oversight in the daily functions of the universe, even if it's just loosely. Essentially Overseers or in the current case, middle management with a boss who never micromanages.
A mutated soul!
Orloff's heart shook.
It was too difficult…the risk of death is too high.
Even with all his countless years of research, he had never dared attempt it.
"Alright, Orloff. You may return. I must now create the Aether Supreme Plane," Sadius said.
He remained cordial toward Orloff, as the man was the most talented cultivator within the Coiling Dragon Universe.
Of course, Sadius had not revealed everything about becoming a Supreme Overgod.
Because if he did…Beirut and Bebe might be in grave danger.
