Chapter 140 - Chapter 140: Crazy Spending

Looking at the Bully Points total, now up to 16,000,

Maguire felt it was time to push his strength up to an even higher tier.

By now, he already had a general plan in mind for how he was going to spend his first few years of college.

"At the moment, my first Devil Fruit is developed to sixty-five percent.

With just 3,500 Bully Points, I can push that fruit's power up to SS-rank.

"And my Quake-Quake Fruit, because I use it all the time, is already at seventy percent development.

"I only need 3,000 Bully Points to raise the Quake-Quake Fruit to SS-rank as well.

"And in my next phase of planning, the Quake-Quake Fruit's potential is way more important to me than the first fruit."

With that thought, Maguire spent 3,000 Bully Points and pushed his Quake-Quake Fruit's development all the way up to one hundred percent.

In the next second, he felt his understanding of the Quake-Quake Fruit reach a level that was hard to even put into words.

The shockwave attacks he could unleash were no longer limited to "ordinary" tremors.

At this point, his Quake-Quake Fruit had reached the level where it could permanently reshape the terrain itself.

He still had 13,000 Bully Points left.

Maguire opened up the Bully Shop, wanting to see if there was anything that really caught his eye.

S-rank starship: Galaxy

Capable of space-jump maneuvers, and able to cruise freely within a star system.

Cannot perform intergalactic space jumps.

Price: 2,000 Bully Points.

SS-rank starship: Crimson

Hull constructed from ultra-high-strength space metal, Crimson Copper Alloy.

The entire ship is shaped like a triangular wedge, its outer edges extremely sharp.

At sufficient speed, it can slice through the vast majority of matter in space, including comets in flight.

Capable of using wormholes to perform jump travel.

Price: 8,000 Bully Points.

Seeing this, Maguire muttered to himself,

"Since I'm planning to use my college years to take a trip into space anyway…

"These starships are ridiculously expensive, though.

"If I'm going to travel the cosmos, that's no small thing. I'd better buy something reliable."

Gritting his teeth, Maguire bought the SS-rank starship: the Crimson.

His Bully Points instantly shrank to 5,000.

At the same time, the lottery screen had upgraded again; the entire interface had turned into transparent amethyst crystal.

Now, a single draw cost 1,000 Bully Points.

Maguire opened the lottery system to see what treasures the Amethyst Lottery had to offer.

S-rank item: Tiger Talisman of the Twelve Talismans

S-rank item: Snake Talisman of the Twelve Talismans

S-rank item: Energy Accumulation Cannon

SS-rank item: Tuo She Ancient Emperor Flame

S-rank item: Rao Rao no Mi, a Logia-type Devil Fruit

Looking at this, Maguire couldn't help thinking,

"Sure, the cost per draw went way up, but the prize pool also took a massive leap."

Under his excited gaze, the pointer on the amethyst wheel finally slowed, then stopped.

"Congratulations, host. You have obtained one of the Twelve Talismans—

S-rank item: Tiger Talisman.

With the Tiger Talisman, the host can balance all talisman powers within the body.

The host also gains the ability to use Clone Technique, creating one clone body.

The clone possesses all of the host's strength."

Maguire's heart gave a jolt.

"A clone… so the Tiger Talisman actually has that ability.

"And what's even scarier is that the clone has exactly the same power as the original body."

By now, it was already six in the evening.

Maguire had promised to have dinner with Susan at seven.

With that in mind, he closed the lottery interface and headed downstairs.

At the front gate of the building,

a young woman in a business suit was standing by the side of the street.

Her long, shapely legs paired with seductive black stockings made her look even more breathtaking.

It was none other than Susan, the Invisible Woman of the Fantastic Four.

A Bugatti rolled slowly toward the curb.

The car eased to a stop, the window lowering to reveal Maguire's handsome face.

Seeing how stunningly dressed Susan was today,

Maguire couldn't help a knowing smile.

Soon, Susan had slid into the passenger seat.

Catching a glimpse of those dazzling long legs right next to him, Maguire chuckled and asked,

"What's going on today? Why are you dressed like this?"

Susan pouted, lips pushing out adorably.

"What, you don't like how I look today?"

Maguire smiled and shook his head.

"Of course not. You look good no matter what you wear."

Satisfied, Susan nodded.

"I want hot pot tonight. Let me tell you properly what happened yesterday."

Maguire nodded in return and started the car, heading toward a hot-pot place he knew.

All the way there, Susan kept talking about Hellblood Demon,

her face full of pure adoration the whole time.

Maguire couldn't help teasing her,

"If you worship Hellblood Demon that much, why aren't you chasing him and asking him to be your boyfriend?"

"What, are you jealous now, dummy?"

"You kidding? I might have a few powers of my own, but compared to Hellblood Demon…

"I'm already sure of it—he's basically a god.

"I'm just a normal person. You are more than enough for me."

Susan had never said something so soft and earnest before.

Maguire only smiled faintly and didn't push it any further.

Very soon, the two of them arrived at the hot-pot restaurant and found a table by the window.

Just then, two familiar figures walked in from outside—

Garfield and Hannah.

By now, Susan already knew that Garfield was Spider-Man; after all, the two of them had fought side by side in New York.

Seeing Garfield come in…

the contrast with the usual image in her mind really was like night and day.
