Chapter 133 - Chapter 133: The Terror of the King of the Monsters

The next second, the dorsal plates on Godzilla's back suddenly burst into blue light, a glowing line of energy running all the way up to the top of his head.

In the fighter jets overhead, all the pilots stared at Godzilla in confusion.

Suddenly, Godzilla's massive jaws yawned open.

A lance of blue energy shot out from his blood-filled maw, streaking straight toward the jets in the sky.

Its target—those very same fighters.

It was Godzilla's special move: atomic breath.

The speed of the atomic breath was far beyond what the jets could ever react to.

Even though the pilots in the air did everything they could to dodge, two of the fighters were still struck by the beam and exploded midair.

Seeing that terrifying scene…

Godzilla, however, seemed to have little interest in the two iron birds in the sky.

He just kept lumbering forward on his own, heading straight for New York.

Very soon, Godzilla was getting closer and closer to the city.

High above, a gigantic Helicarrier appeared amid the clouds.

Nick Fury stared at the enormous creature on the holographic screen, his face dark.

"Where the hell did this monster crawl out from?"

"We absolutely cannot let it reach downtown New York—launch an immediate attack!"

At his order, all the high-end weapon systems on the Helicarrier locked onto the King of Monsters below—Godzilla.

The next instant, round after round of shells blasted out from the Helicarrier, raining down toward Godzilla beneath them.

Explosions thundered through the clouds as shell after shell slammed directly into Godzilla.

Seeing this, the agents aboard the Helicarrier let out excited cheers.

Only Director Nick Fury, looking at the situation below, frowned even deeper.

A heartbeat later, a horrifying roar split the sky.

When the smoke cleared, Godzilla's figure reappeared in Fury's field of view.

That entire wave of artillery fire hadn't managed to injure Godzilla at all.

On the contrary, it only provoked his wrath.

Once again, the dorsal plates on Godzilla's back began to pulse with blue light.

Inside the Helicarrier, an agent hurriedly turned to Fury.

"Director, we've detected a violent energy fluctuation inside the monster's body.

"It's very likely it's charging up some kind of devastating attack."

Nick Fury could already smell the danger.

He immediately gave the order,

"Get this Helicarrier climbing, now!

"And activate the cloaking system, fast!"

At the director's command, the agents moved at once.

A moment later, the massive Helicarrier surged upward into the higher atmosphere.

The camouflage panels on its underside deployed at the same time.

Very quickly, the Helicarrier blended in completely with the blue sky and white clouds around it.

Right then, the King of Monsters below—Godzilla—finished charging up.

He looked up, only to find that the Helicarrier above had suddenly vanished.

A hint of confusion flashed through Godzilla's eyes.

The blue light on his dorsal plates gradually faded, and he simply continued trudging toward New York.

On the Helicarrier, Nick Fury hurried to contact Natasha and the others who were still cleaning up the battlefield in New York.

By now, Godzilla had already reached the outskirts of the city.

In the center of New York, Natasha's comm device suddenly crackled with Fury's voice.

"Natasha, there's a giant monster over a hundred meters tall heading straight for downtown New York.

"This thing is unbelievably dangerous. The military has already tried every weapon short of doomsday-level ordnance,

"and nothing has been able to hurt it.

"You all need to find a way to stop it—no matter what."

Hearing this, Natasha immediately understood how serious the situation was.

She quickly called in Iron Man Tony and the others nearby.

Before long, Red Hulk General Ross, Iron Man, Garfield, Harry, Hawkeye Barton and the rest had all gathered in front of her.

Natasha briefed everyone on what was happening from beginning to end.

When they finished listening, everyone's expression changed.

"How could something that terrifying just show up out of nowhere?"

"Even the Helicarrier's weapons couldn't so much as scratch it?"

You had to know: the Helicarrier's weapon system was designed by Iron Man Tony himself.

Just then, Tony's voice came from above.

"Look, that monster is about to hit downtown New York."

Hearing Tony, everyone quickly looked off into the distance.

There, the King of Monsters—Godzilla, over a hundred meters tall—was stomping straight toward them.

The group exchanged glances.

In the next second, all of them sprang into action, charging toward Godzilla.

Garfield and Harry also shared a look, then immediately shifted into their elemental forms and flew toward Godzilla in the distance.

Staring at the colossal body in front of him, Garfield let out a cold snort.

"It's just an oversized dinosaur. Let's see how you handle molten lava."

The next moment, Garfield's entire body turned into magma, transforming into a blazing pillar of fire as he slammed himself toward Godzilla.

It was his signature technique.

By the time everyone else arrived, Garfield had already unleashed Nether Hound.

They all watched with bated breath.

They'd seen it before—Garfield's Nether Hound had punched straight through a Chitauri Leviathan's massive body.

But in the very next instant, something happened that none of them could believe.

The pillar of fire struck Godzilla's body—

A burst of white steam rose up, carrying a choking stench.

Then the pillar of fire recoiled as if it had hit solid steel, shrinking back and reforming into Garfield's human shape.

Godzilla let out an enraged roar, his huge eyes locking onto Garfield and the others in front of him.

On his enormous body, there was only a pit about three meters across where the magma attack had landed.

Compared to Godzilla's colossal size, it was basically nothing more than a scratch.

Garfield was completely stunned.

"This thing's defense is way too insane…"

At that, Red Hulk, General Ross, suddenly leapt into the air.

In a single bound he reached Godzilla's head height and drove a punch straight into the monster.

The blow landed solidly, a punch with force calculated in the tens of thousands of tons.

Yet Godzilla didn't budge an inch.

He didn't even sway.

Everyone's faces turned grim.

"This gigantic monster is on a completely different level from those Leviathan war-beasts…"
