Under the terrifying onslaught of the two, the Chitauri legion were like lambs led to the slaughter, utterly incapable of resisting.
Inside one enormous warship, the commander of this Chitauri operation stared grimly at the two elemental giants rampaging in the distance.
He then turned to the soldiers around him and barked,
"Fire—open fire! Their bodies might be huge—"
At his order, the main cannons of several nearby space warships all locked onto the two giants.
In the next moment, torrents of laser fire roared toward the two elemental giants in the distance.
Meanwhile, Thor, who was off a ways away wiping out the stragglers, noticed the lasers streaking through space toward Maguire and the others.
An anxious look flashed across his face.
"Even though they've turned into those giant forms and their power and destructive force have skyrocketed…
"their weakness is just as obvious. Those massive bodies are basically the biggest targets you could ask for."
The next second, the streams of laser fire slammed directly into Garfield and Maguire as they continued their massacre.
As the blasts engulfed them, the warship commander's face lit up with excitement.
"Keep firing! There's no way those two can dodge our attacks!
"They actually dared to come challenge our entire legion with just the two of them—I'd say they're tired of living."
With the commander's orders, the bombardment from the ships grew even denser.
A dense web of lasers shot out again, raining down on the two in the distance.
Maguire took one look at the lasers flying toward him and snorted in open disdain.
"This kind of attack doesn't do a thing to a Logia-type Devil Fruit user.
"But for Holland, who has the Flash-Flash Fruit, it actually works great.
"It's just more energy for him!"
This kind of light-element attack, for Holland—who can freely control light itself—is nothing more than constant logistical resupply.
The warships kept pouring fire at Maguire and Holland, lasers streaking endlessly across the void.
Not far away, Thor was so anxious he could hardly stand it, but more and more Chitauri soldiers were swarming around him.

Maguire noticed their movement at once.
He turned into a gigantic quake-wave and shot toward the retreating Chitauri warships in the distance.
In just a single second, he seemed to ignore distance altogether, and appeared right beside the fleeing ships.
Maguire gave a small grin.
"Trying to run? Did you even ask for my opinion?"
The next moment, countless quakes coiled around his body.
A colossal pillar of seismic force blasted out from him, slamming into the cluster of space warships not far away.
A series of violent explosions blossomed in the dark of space.
A few minutes later, the Chitauri legion that had invaded this time had been completely wiped out by Maguire and the other two.
At the same time, down on Blue Star, in New York City,
Iron Man and the others were busy cleaning up the battlefield.
Black Widow Natasha was also rushing around dealing with the aftermath.
Dozens of kilometers away, on a small town by the coast, a gigantic shadow had appeared.
It was the King of Monsters, already come ashore from the sea—Godzilla.
At that moment, in S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters, aboard the Helicarrier, Nick Fury stared in shock at the image on the holographic screen in front of him.
On the screen, clear as day, was Godzilla striding toward New York.
"What the hell is that thing? How did a monster like that suddenly show up here?"
Not long after, the military also picked up the gigantic creature on their systems.
They immediately scrambled several squadrons of supersonic fighter jets to fly toward Godzilla's position.
At the same time, Nick Fury ordered the Helicarrier to head for the target zone at full speed.
In no time, the fighters had arrived in front of Godzilla.
Having received clearance to fire, the pilots wasted no time—
they launched the heavy ordnance they were carrying straight at the towering monster ahead.

When the smoke finally dispersed, a thunderous roar split the sky.
Godzilla's colossal body stood there completely unscathed.
But that little bit of pain had clearly pissed him off.
His massive tail slammed furiously into the ground.
The next second, the dorsal fins along Godzilla's back suddenly began to glow with a pulsing blue light.
