'Even the system has boundries.'
Mark brought his focus back to the monster ahead.
So far, it was easy. But now, the real challenge began.
He did the quick calculation in his head. Fifty-five seconds before the crystalis tore itself free.
Mark deactivated the [stealth] and pour his mana to pair of black and white swords.
[00:54]
Activating [Feather Step] at full power, he exploded off the ground.
As if detecting his presence crystalis released the jagged crystal from its body.
'Yep it can manipulate its own crystals too.'
The shards hovered, trembling in the air, then shot toward him like an arrow.
Mark jumped and twisted midair, dodging most of the shards. He used his white blade to parry the spike in front of him, while his black blade guarded his chest.
Landing, he glanced back, and his stomach tightened. The shard had already stopped midair, spun around, and came at him again.
But he didn't stop rushing toward the monster.
He ducked, several shards hissed past him, the spike grazing his cheek with a sting, but he didn't stop and started a sprint in circle around the crystalis.
Two more shards tore themselves free from the monster, whirling into the air, and joined the chase behind him.
The crystals were too tough and breaking them would only shatter them into smaller shards, creating even more trouble.
That's why he was just dodging them while searching for an opening to get close to the monster.
_Whoosh!
As if it read his thoughts, the monster screeched, tentacles whipped out in all directions
[00:42]
Mark slid under one tentacle and kicked off the wall of the passage, leaping over another.
The white blade batted some shards in way, but again, they spun back like it was on an invisible leash.
More shards tore from monster's body, now circling it like an orbit of spinning knives, each ready to launch at his slightest mistake.
[00:36]
Mark's heart pounded. The net threads were snapping one by one.
He needed to finish this, fast.
Another tentacle lashed forward, faster than the first. He met it with white sword and activated its enchantment [Colder than ice].
Instantly, a layer of ice formed on the tentacle surface.
Mark activated the black blade enchantment [hotter than fire] and leapt in air dodging the incoming shards and rotated his body midair, flame spiraled around him forming a circle of fire.
Then he, with a sharp downward strike, brought down the black blade on the icy surface.
_Boom!
With a small explosion the crystal tentacle was severed and fell to the ground.
'How does that feel. you shiny bastard?'
As if answering him,
The monster shrieked in pain, all the spinning shards around it rush toward the Mark.
Flung by the explosion, he landed on the wall, but didn't stop.
He kicked off the wall and started to spin in circle again with a Swarm of shards trailing behind relentlessly.
[00:25]
Another one of it tentacle freed itself from threads and reached for the leather bag.
'Not so fast.'
Mark sprint toward the tentacle with speed faster than before, holding twin blades one shrouded in icy mist fog, other wreathed in red flame.
A tentacle lunged for his chest, but he twisted to side dodging it, and soon he was upon the tentacle reaching for bag.
He sidestepped dodging the shards from behind, leapt in air and craved the white blade straight into the joint where tentacle met its body, forming an icy layer again.
He didn't get the chance to finish the strike. A tentacle struck him from behind, sending him flying through the air.
Mark felt like he was hit by a truck, but he ignored the pain and poured more mana into the black sword, flames erupting higher along its blade.
Then, still in midair, he threw the sword, aiming at the joint he struck earlier.
another explosion happened and another tentacle fell to ground.
_Whooooosh!
Crystalis roared in pain again.
