Zhu Ziyang, before announcing the Spirit Soul system to the world, first needed to notify Mu En. As his teacher and a figure widely acknowledged as a leader in the soul master world, Mu En's support would play a pivotal role in the Spirit Soul system's recognition and promotion.
Thus, Zhu Ziyang went to find Mu En.
"Teacher, do you still remember when I told you about the Spirit Soul contract and Spirit Souls?" Inside the Sea God Pavilion's main hall, Zhu Ziyang and Mu En sat facing each other. Zhu Ziyang's expression was calm, his tone composed.
"Oh?" Mu En's face showed a curious look. He said, "Since you brought it up yourself, that must mean you've made some breakthrough progress. Not bad. Tell me about it. I'm quite eager to hear."
"Exactly!" Zhu Ziyang revealed a trace of pride, then directly summoned his three Spirit Souls, calling out, "Xue'er, Bing'er, Shuang'er, come out!"
The three Spirit Souls—Snow Empress, Ice Empress, and Er Shuang—emerged from Zhu Ziyang's body, landing on his shoulders and chest. Each of them looked calmly at the elderly human before them.
Mu En's aged eyes were filled with curiosity as he examined the baby girl, the scorpion, and the little dragon that floated out of Zhu Ziyang's body. His mouth opened slightly in astonishment.
"So these are Spirit Souls? Truly wondrous!"
"Teacher, this is the Heavenly Snow Women, the Snow Empress. She goes by Xue'er now!" Zhu Ziyang introduced her first, since she was not only his first Spirit Soul, but also the strongest among the three.
"I know you, human!" Before Mu En could respond, the Snow Empress spoke first.
"You once visited the Extreme North!"
"Hahaha! That's right! When I was younger, I did visit the Extreme North. I just never had the honor of meeting you, Snow Empress!" Mu En laughed heartily. "But maybe it's a good thing I didn't. Otherwise, I might not be alive now!"
"Hmph! At least you have some self-awareness!" The Snow Empress raised her small head with pride.
"Xue'er, don't be rude to Teacher!" Zhu Ziyang frowned instinctively at their exchange and chided her.
"My bad, Papa!" Hearing the dissatisfaction in Zhu Ziyang's tone, Snow Empress immediately lowered her head with a wronged expression.
"Hahaha, it's fine!" Mu En was surprised at how Snow Empress referred to Zhu Ziyang, but more than anything, he was intrigued.
"Ziyang, in her Spirit Soul state, can the Snow Empress still retain such powerful strength? I can sense that her power is nearly equal to mine!"
"Teacher, the Snow Empress is a special existence. As the first Spirit Soul born under Heaven and Earth, she's naturally different from others," Zhu Ziyang explained.
"After becoming a Spirit Soul, she can retain eighty percent of her original strength. So, she's effectively a five-hundred-thousand-year soul beast now. However, most Spirit Souls can only preserve around eighty percent of their host soul master's strength."
To prove his point, Zhu Ziyang continued introducing the others.
"Teacher, this is Ice Empress, and this is Er Shuang. They were both at the hundred-thousand-year soul beast level in life, but now they only have the strength of a Soul Emperor."
"I see!" Mu En nodded in realization. He smiled and gave a slight nod to Ice Empress and Er Shuang. Then, turning to Zhu Ziyang, he asked,
"Ziyang, besides retaining their intelligence and some strength, what else can Spirit Souls offer soul masters?"
"Based on our deductions," Zhu Ziyang explained, "each Spirit Soul can provide two to three soul rings. A soul master can typically have three to four Spirit Souls. Moreover, the Spirit Soul's power grows alongside the soul master."
"In that case, this not only helps relieve the crisis of soul beast extinction, but also boosts the soul master's strength. A perfect win-win!" Mu En smiled in satisfaction.
"Ziyang, your creation is destined to reshape the entire soul master world!"
"Hehe, Teacher, before we reshape the world, let's ensure we are the ones equipped with this tech first!" Zhu Ziyang chuckled.
"As long as we hold the most advanced techniques, we won't be vulnerable like with soul tools."
"Excellent!" Mu En nodded approvingly.
"As for the Spirit Soul matter, don't announce it in the academy just yet. We'll inform the Elders first, then select a few absolutely trustworthy students for trial implementation. Once you officially take over Sea God Pavilion, we'll launch it fully."
"Teacher, is that really necessary?" Zhu Ziyang was surprised.
"This is your achievement. Naturally, it should be handled by you!" Mu En said firmly.
"A teacher cannot take credit for the disciple's work!"
"Alright, Teacher, I understand." Zhu Ziyang nodded seriously.
"Then let's convene the Sea God Pavilion meeting!" Mu En smiled.
Because Mu En had called the meeting personally, the elders wasted no time arriving. Xuanzi, Elder Lin, Elder Song, Elder Zhuang, Xian Lin'er, Cai Meier, and Qian Duoduo—all the current members of the Sea God Pavilion—gathered.
Mu En directly stated the purpose of the meeting and let Zhu Ziyang demonstrate the Spirit Soul system.
The best way to demonstrate, of course, was through combat. The recently recovered Xuanzi was chosen to spar against Zhu Ziyang's Spirit Soul, Snow Empress.
A group of Titled Douluo led a single Soul Emperor to a remote clearing. The battle was about to begin.
"Ziyang, let's start!" Xuanzi stood facing Zhu Ziyang and smiled.
"Don't worry about hurting me. My defense is still pretty strong!"
Hearing this, Zhu Ziyang felt no hesitation.
"Then Elder Xuan, be careful! Xue'er, go all out. No need to hold back—and don't worry about me."
"Understood, Papa!" Snow Empress nodded and floated to the front, her large eyes gazing coldly at Xuanzi.
Snow began to fall from the sky. Under everyone's gaze, Snow Empress, who looked like a toddler, rapidly grew in size. In just a few breaths, she transformed into a stunning girl of around fifteen or sixteen, exuding a cold, majestic aura like a queen surrounded by drifting snowflakes.
Even Mu En was seeing the Snow Empress' true appearance for the first time. Her reputation as the Queen of the Extreme North had long been legendary.
The battle began. Snow Empress, faithfully following Zhu Ziyang's command, held nothing back. She raised her slender white hand, where an extremely cold aura spiraled. The snowflakes in the air responded to this energy, accelerating and transforming into sharp flying blades. With a thrust of her palm, they condensed into a massive snowflake blade sphere and blasted toward Xuanzi.
Empress Palm: Great Chill Without Snow!
Facing her head-on, Xuanzi didn't dare underestimate her. He activated his Martial Soul Avatar instantly—Phase Two.
The Taotie Divine Bull manifested as armor, wrapping around his body. His eyes sharpened, fists clenched, and he punched the incoming attack.
Boom!
The snow blade burst apart, drowning Xuanzi in a blizzard. But Snow Empress didn't stop. After the Empress Palm came the Empress Sword.
A sword as clear as jade appeared in her hand. She dashed forward in a few steps, thrusting at Xuanzi. He quickly retreated, unwilling to take the strike head-on.
He could feel it—if that sword hit him, all his recovery over the past six months would be for nothing.
All he could do was defend. There was no way to counterattack—not that he should, anyway.
This spar was meant to demonstrate Spirit Soul combat ability, not a win-or-lose match. Xuanzi regretted not pushing Qian Duoduo into this role instead.
But it was clear: the spar needn't continue.
Snow Empress had already proven through this brief clash that Spirit Souls were viable fighters. Though unique, she still embodied the potential of all Spirit Souls—independent combat capability.
This answered the elders' first major concern.
"Xue'er, return!" Zhu Ziyang, pale-faced, called her back.
Truth be told, Snow Empress was overwhelmingly powerful. Just those two moves had nearly drained his soul power. He'd need to be more careful in the future.
"Mm!" Snow Empress responded sweetly, shrank in size, and floated back to Zhu Ziyang's shoulder.
"Let's return to the Pavilion!" Mu En took Zhu Ziyang's hand and began transferring soul power to help him recover.
The group quickly returned to the Sea God Pavilion, where the elders were abuzz, excitedly sharing their impressions.
