Chapter 86 - 86

The Knight of Justice Harvey has been like a madman these days, and has begun to practice his justice with increasingly extreme means.

The Joker causes death daily, with more and more high-ranking officials being slaughtered through various means. Initially, the murders of high-ranking officials like the mayor and judge gradually spread to mid-level officials like Sheriff Gordon. Countless people in this city have been bribed by the Joker. This masterful manipulator of human nature seems to always find weaknesses in human nature, forcing public officials within the system to work for him at the most critical moment.

Everyone in Gotham City is in danger. No one knows whether their colleagues have been secretly bribed by the Joker and are secretly planning to murder them.

The scariest thing is that every time the Joker kills someone, he tells the public who will die next. People live in fear every day, praying to the gods that it won't be them. The ugliness of human nature is brought out to the maximum extent, and people are eager to target the people around them so that they can be safe.

Unconsciously, trust has become the most scarce thing in this city. This change is sudden, but it seems to be natural. The Joker is using his terrifying tricks to distort everyone's nature.

The Joker has no superpowers, and Downey could kill him with just one punch. But his ability to control and twist people's hearts is enough to crush most superheroes.

Harvey's face was grim as he ran frantically, chasing the fleeing figure in front of him. He had just spoken to his beloved girlfriend Rachel on the phone, and the Joker's next target was Rachel, which drove Harvey into a frenzy. He vowed to find the Joker even if he had to dig three feet into the ground. He wanted to protect his lover!

Harvey still remembered what Rachel had said to him just now: "Don't worry, Harvey. I'm on the top floor of Wayne Tower. It's safe here. Bruce will protect me."

Hehehe...the woman he loved had to be sheltered by her ex-boyfriend. Although Bruce frequently raised funds to support many of his actions for some reason, Harvey was grateful to Bruce, but this did not mean that Harvey was a broad-minded person.

In particular, there seemed to be an unspoken tacit understanding between his girlfriend Rachel and Bruce. It was a feeling he couldn't put his finger on, but Harvey could sense it with his keen sense of smell. It made him very uncomfortable.

Especially at this moment, the Joker wants to kill Rachel! But it is Bruce who protects Rachel instead of Harvey!

Harvey was panting, his eyes were bloodshot. He wanted to catch the villain Joker with his own hands and protect Rachel with his own hands!

He chased after it and knocked the fleeing figure down with a powerful blow.

"Tell me! Where is the Joker! Tell me!!!" Harvey's face was distorted. He grabbed the other person's collar and yelled wildly, completely losing his former calmness and composure.

The man who had been captured was a man. He swallowed hard, sweating profusely, but he still let out an uncomfortable, low, trembling laugh. Harvey could tell that the man was imitating the Joker.

Harvey was enraged. This kind of laughter made him feel that it was mocking his own incompetence! He pulled out his gun and put it against the other party's forehead, roaring with murderous intent: "Now can you tell me where the Joker is?!"

"No, no, you are a knight of justice, you can't do this..." The man gritted his teeth, his body trembling, but he still refused to say anything.

This further infuriated Harvey, and he suddenly calmed down, like the calm before the storm. The Knight of Justice stared at the man with a sinister gaze: "Want to play a game?" He took out a pistol with his left hand and put it against the man's head, then took out a coin with his right hand.

"Heads, you live, tails, you die!" Harvey said coldly, gritting his teeth.

"No, you won't..."

"I can! I definitely can!!!" Harvey roared, "You think I can't? Huh? You think I can't?!"

Harvey flipped the coin under the man's horrified gaze, then caught it with one hand.

Slowly open your palms.

It's positive.

The captured man swallowed frantically, letting out a series of trembling laughs, sweat pouring down his forehead like a gushing fountain. He knew he had survived the hands of the Knight of Justice, and that Harvey, the Knight of Justice, would not kill him again.

Before he could show a crazy smile, Harvey spoke again with a gloomy face.

"This round doesn't count, let's do it again!"

"No! You can't do this! I don't know anything! Oh my God!" The man collapsed, tears and urine flowed out together, and he collapsed on the ground crying.

Harvey's face twisted as he tossed the coin into the air once more amidst the other man's terrified plea for mercy. Unconsciously, his left hand tightened its grip on the gun, his index finger already beginning to slowly pull the trigger.

The coin fell silently, like the falling scythe of the Grim Reaper.

A big hand suddenly reached out and grabbed the coin tightly.

"You're giving the decision on a life to a coin? This man's name is Shiv Thomas, a paranoid schizophrenic, a psychopath from Arkham, who's most easily attracted to the Joker. Even if you kill him, he won't tell."

Batman spoke hoarsely, hiding in the darkness. He looked at Harvey, a hint of disappointment in his eyes that was hard to conceal. Because of the dim light, Harvey didn't notice anything wrong.

"Harvey, you must remember that you are a symbol of hope. This is something I can never do. You are the knight of justice in this city, and you are the only legitimate light in Gotham City in decades! But if someone sees this scene, everything will be over. The criminals you captured will be released, and all the dead will have sacrificed in vain!" said Batman.

"Have you found the Joker? He will kill Rachel!" Harvey asked impatiently. He only cared about the Joker now.

"Rachel is hiding in Wayne Tower. She's safe now." Batman answered irrelevantly. "I just tracked down the Joker and personally sent a small-time thug to Arkham Prison. I also saw one thing clearly: the Joker isn't the only threat to this city!"

"Harvey, if you hold a press conference tomorrow, I'll take off my mask then, so no one will die because of me," Batman said slowly, his mind already determined to risk everything. The city he protects is losing lives every second. The Joker is slaughtering the upper echelons, while others are secretly inciting the lower ranks. The situation is becoming increasingly corrupt. If he doesn't make a drastic decision, he believes everything will be irreversible.

"What? No, you can't compromise! Asshole, you can't compromise!" Harvey grabbed Batman and roared frantically. Batman was the last psychological defense for Gotham. If even Batman gave up, who could save the city? Himself? Could he shoulder the burden?

Batman shook off Harvey and walked towards the darkness. His figure gradually disappeared, and the lonely Dark Knight made a decision.

"Where are you going? I won't allow you to compromise! Let's go find the Joker now, there will always be hope!" Harvey yelled like crazy.

Batman paused, but quickly moved forward again: "I have more important things to do. Some things have to be done by someone."

Darkness enveloped everything, shadows covered the earth, and the biting cold wind swept through layers of dark clouds, crushing this prosperous and sinful city.

There is a communicator on Batman's cowl, which allows him to keep in real time communication with his old butler Alfred.

"Master, as you instructed, all the equipment has been prepared... Do we really have to take this step?" Alfred sighed deeply as he stared at the screen. Behind him, a vast array of the latest high-tech equipment filled the entire Batcave.

"I have to do this, Alfred. I have to protect this city." Batman took big steps in the darkness. Bruce Wayne had made up his mind. "I want to build a new set of armor, an unprecedented super armor! I want to end it all with my own hands!"
