Professor X is old and has some wrinkles on his face, but his smile is gentle and kind, and he has a strange charm. He can always calm people down from tension and anxiety.
At least that's how Downey felt. He relaxed completely in Professor X's smile, no longer feeling the anxiety he'd felt a few seconds before. He thought it was Professor X's psychic power, but he felt more like it was Professor X's personality trait.
"Child, welcome to Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. I am Charles Xavier." Charles said, looking at his fellow man with joy in his eyes.
Of course, Charles had reason to be happy about Tony's arrival. He had been paying attention to this fellow tribesman who had awakened to level four. Although he had never actually met Tony, he actually knew a lot about him.
Professor Charles possesses powerful psychic powers, which grant him powerful perception and the ability to see through people's hearts. Even without delving into someone's mind, he can use his psychic powers to detect some superficial things, such as determining a person's character.
Logically, he should have gone to pick up Donnie long ago, but he always held back and waited quietly.
When Donnie awakened, he wasn't filled with anger or hysteria, but rather with a blankness, like a stagnant pool of water, devoid of life. At that moment, Charles felt a chill. This fellow's talent was astonishingly high, but it also worried him. The deathly silence frightened even Professor X, accustomed to the ever-changing world.
He secretly looked after Donnie, shielding him from many storms. He didn't show up, but after sending the invitation, he quietly watched Donnie's choice, trying not to directly interfere with this young man who was thinking and adapting, leaving him enough room to choose. He even painfully prepared for the worst in his heart.
But when he clearly felt that Donnie was coming to find him, he was really delighted. A level four fellow tribesman dared to stand in front of him. This showed that this fellow tribesman had at least walked out of the shadow of the initial period, proving that his series of actions of not directly interfering were correct, and this young man did not disappoint his expectations.
Charles had spent his entire life working for the mutant community. He loved every member of his community and had met countless people. He saw through everything with his wisdom. But when Donnie stood before him with his back straight, his nose really felt a little sour.
"Professor? Donnie's still watching you." Qin reminded softly. He had followed Charles since he was a child and knew him well. He was a wise elder, but sometimes he was more like a sentimental child.
He has been too tired these years.
"Professor Charles, thank you for your care these days." Although he didn't know why Charles was so sentimental, Downey still expressed his gratitude. He had wanted to express his gratitude to Professor X for a long time, but he didn't fulfill this wish until today.
Professor X was the first to discover Donnie's awakening, and it was he who asked S.H.I.E.L.D. to look after him, saving him from a lot of trouble. Even so, Donnie never looked for Professor X, as if nothing had happened and he knew nothing.
Even so, when he was desperate and came to the door for help, this respected elder still opened the door for him and welcomed him with open arms.
Donny knew that he owed this old man too much, invisibly.
If we really want to find the person who has done the most favor for Donnie after his awakening, it must be the unknown Professor X. This kind old man has silently done a lot for him.
Charles Xavier, hero of the tribe, outstanding leader, benevolent elder and guide.
Donnie has a genuine respect for Charles, although he is also somewhat afraid of his psychic abilities.
"Kid, when you stand in front of me, I think you have walked out of the darkness." Charles smiled and expressed his admiration for Donnie without hesitation.
Happy for Donnie to meet him.
Tang Ni smiled. "I can only say that I've gotten over it partially... I still have a knot in my heart that I can't untie at all."
"Because of Hulk? You think he killed your parents and destroyed your ordinary but happy family. You think everything that was originally good for you has changed drastically because of Hulk." Charles whispered what was in Donnie's heart.
Donnie's face was gloomy and he remained silent. He knew that Hulk wasn't the direct culprit, but his parents did die indirectly because of Hulk, and he still couldn't get over this.
What will he do in the future? What will he do when he faces the Hulk? Will he kill him directly? At least there will be no chance of a handshake or peace.
"If possible, I think I might kill someone, at least that's the choice I have now. If one day I really have that kind of strength." Donny confided his inner thoughts. Professor X did not explore his brain. He was an old man with noble character, and he was willing to take the initiative to reveal his dark inner self.
This knot has been suppressed in his heart for too long and he can never untie it.
He has killed the Abomination, and Ross is still imprisoned in prison under tight security. He has no chance to kill him for the time being, and Hulk is also missing for the time being.
Donny really didn't know how to choose.
To a certain extent, Hulk is indeed a scourge. Since the birth of this monster, every time he goes on a rampage, countless innocent civilians are killed and countless happy families are broken up. Countless people in this world hate him to the core and wish they could eat his flesh and sleep on his skin.
Donny understood that there was basically no possibility of reconciliation between him and Hulk because he simply couldn't let go.
"Follow your heart, kid. Time will answer everything. Time will allow you to make the right choice. I also believe that you can answer with your heart." Charles comforted. He did not try to stop Donny, but just enlightened him like a guide.
He knew that Donnie was an adult with his own opinions. Although young, he was growing rapidly. The old man believed that Donnie would make a choice that at least did not go against his heart. Time would help this somewhat confused child grow up and help him find his own spiritual light from the fog.
This is already very precious.
Charles asked Donnie to sit down, and Qin left quietly, leaving space for the old and the young to communicate.
Charles and Donny chatted extensively that day, from their respective childhood mischiefs to the setbacks they faced growing up, and finally, their dreams and aspirations for the future. Time flew by amidst bursts of laughter, and the unfamiliar distance between them narrowed infinitely.
Donnie felt that he must have known the professor for many years, otherwise how could they have such a happy chat? It was as if he and the professor had been close friends for many years, although Donnie knew that was an illusion.
It was getting darker until Qin pushed the door open again and scolded the two of them for disregarding time and even forgetting mealtime.
Charles laughed out loud, a laugh he hadn't had in years, a long, long time. He immediately invited Donnie to dinner.
"My students are very curious about you and have wanted to meet you for a long time." Charles said with a smile.
